사람의 피부두겹 및 총지방량에 관한 연주 -제1편 총지방량의 계절적 변동- (Seasonal Variation of Total Body Fat in Men)

  • Skinfold thickness measurement and total body fat calculation were made in summer (July) and winter (December or January) On 70 medical students (age: 20 yr),8 national team basketball players (age: 20 yr), and 9 middle-age men. Skinfold thickness measurements were made on 4 sites, namely, back, arm, waist and abdomen. The mean skinfold thickness (mm) of the 4 sites was substituted into the following formulae. For adult of 20 years old: % Fat=0.911x+8.1, and for middle-aged men % Fat=1.199x+1.41. In young medical students and ball players body weight decreased, mean skinfold thickness increased in winter season. As a result total body fat .(% body weight) increased in winter In middle-aged men both body weight and mean skinfold thickness increased in winter and resulted in an increase in the total body fat. The detailed data are as follows: 1. In medical students summer: winter values were: body weight, 59.7 :58.9 kg; mean skinfold thickness, 7.85 : 8.12 mm; and total body fat, 15.0 : 15.5% body weight (P<.30). 2. In national team basketball players summer: winter values were: body weight, 73.5 : 69.1 kg; mean skinfold thickness, 7.2 : 7.5 mm; total body fat, 11.6 : 12.1% (P:NS). 3. In middle-aged men summer vs winter values were: body weight, 61.5 : 63.0 kg; mean skinfold thickness, 10.3 : 11.8 mm; total body fat, 17.2 : 18.0% (P:NS). 4. Skinfold thickness on back showed no seasonal variation and on abdomen the thickness increased in winter. 5. It was concluded that the predominant factor in increasing total body fat in winter is the decrease in body exercise in the winter time.

급성 요통환자와 만성 요통환자에서 척추주변근육의 정량적 분석 (A Qualitative Analysis on Paraspinal Muscles in Patients with Acute Low Back Pain and Chronic Low Back Pain)

  • 본 연구는 MRI를 사용하여 급성 및 만성 요통환자들의 척추주변근육에 나타나는 변화를 정량적으로 측정 및 분석하고 이를 토대로 요통에 대한 진단 및 치료에 임상적 기초자료를 제공하고자 2012년 8월부터 2013년 1월까지 내원한 환자로 요통이 발생한지 12주 이내의 급성요통환자 20명과 요통이 발생한지 12주 이상 경과된 만성 요통 환자 20명을 대상자로 선정하여 MRI를 촬영한 후 측정하여 비교하였다. 왼쪽과 오른쪽의 지방변성율에서는 척추세움근과 뭇갈래근에서 유의한 차이가 있었고(p<.001), 전체 집단 간 지방변성율 비교에서도 급성요통군과 만성요통군간의 큰허리근, 척추세움근, 뭇갈래근에서 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<.001). 사후검정에서는 급성요통군과 만성요통군에서 각각 다열근과 척추세움근의 지방변성율이 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 만성 요통군에서 다열근과 척추기립근의 심한 지방율의 변성은 척추의 안정성을 유지하는 근육의 근력 약화로 나타나는데 본 연구결과를 토대로 급성 만성요통환자들의 재활운동과정에 있어서 뭇갈래근, 급성 요통군은 뭇갈래근과 큰허리근에 더 주의를 기울이고 재활운동 선정 과정에서 중요한 자료와 근거를 제시 할 수 있으라고 사료된다.

돼지에서 산육형질과 번식형질간의 관계 (Relation of Production Traits and Reproduction Traits in Swine)

  • 등지방을 포함한 산육형질과 번식 및 산자형질간의 관계를 규명하기 위하여 경남흑돈(버크셔)의 자료를 분석하였다. Pearson 상관의 추정에서 등지방은 번식형질과 -0.24~-.26을 나타냈다. 유전적 관계를 조사하기 위한 초분만일령, 초분만일령과 첫 분만을 위한 종부횟수에 관한 유전상관 추정은 자료의 부족으로 추정치의 변동이 많고 폭이 컸다. 등지방과 산자형질과는 낮은 Pearson 상관을 보였지만 총산자, 생존산자, 생시복체중, 이유복체중의 유전상관계수가 각각 .21, .24, .11, .07으로 조사되어 유전적 상관이 더 높게 조사되어 등지방의 개량이 산자능력을 감소시킬 수 있다. 90kg 도달일령과 총산자, 생존산자, 생시복체중, 이유복체중과의 유전상관 계수는 .14, .17, .09 그리고 0.0으로 각각 조사되어 산육능력이 우수할수록 산자능력의 감소를 의미하고 있다.

Effect of anise flavor on the performance of sows and their litters with different weaning ages

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of dietary supplementation of anise flavor on the performance of lactating sows and suckling pigs at different weaning ages. A total of 120 sows (Landrace ${\times}$ Yorkshire) were used in this experiment. Sows were fed with a commercial lactation diet (60 sows) or diet with flavor (60 sows) during days 100 to 114 of gestation period and the whole lactation period. Piglets were allotted to 2 dietary treatments based on their initial body weight (BW) using a $2{\times}2$ factorial arrangement of treatments with 2 levels of anise flavor (0 or 0.5 g/kg) and weaning periods (weaned at 21 day or 28 day after birth). Sows fed with flavor supplemented diets had higher (p < 0.05) back fat and average daily feed intake (ADFI) at weaning, lower (p < 0.05) back fat loss than those fed with non-flavor diets. Sows weaned at 28 day had higher (p < 0.05) weaning back fat and lower (p < 0.05) back fat loss than those weaned on 21 day. During weaning, piglet average daily gain (ADG), ADFI, digestibility of dry matter (DM), nitrogen (N), and gross energy (GE) and fecal score were affected by anise flavor, respectively. In conclusion, dietary flavor supplementation could increase feed intake of lactating sows, improve growth performance and reduce weaning stress of piglets, especially effective in the early weanling piglets. Meanwhile, interactive effects were observed about the piglet performance between weaning ages and anise flavor supplementation after weaning.

만성요통환자의 점증적 요통 운동과 교육이 근력과 근지구력, 유연성에 미치는 효과 (The effect of muscle strength, endurance and flexibility on Graded Low back exercise and education of chronic low back pain patents.)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of graded low back exercise program with patient education about low back pain care on abdominal strength, endurance and flexibility of waist of chronic low back pain patents. For this study 13 patients aged 40 to 60 were selected as subjects, who suffered from low back pain and got diagnosed by physician. The exercise program and the education were executed for total 6 weeks, posture education were executed with physical exercises over first 1 to 4 weeks period and over 5 to 6 weeks the exercises were executed. The effect of the exercises and the education were evaluated through weights, WHR, fat(%), flexibility by sit-and-reach and trunk extension test, strength by sit-up test and back sit-up test. Weights were, decreased after physical exercise and education, but there was no statistical significance. Wasit hip ratio(WHR) and fat(%) were decreased after physical exercise and education, but there were no statistical significances. Sit-and-reach was significantly increased from $13.68{\pm}5.59cm$ to $19.45{\pm}3.81cm$ after education and physical exercise(P<0.05). Trunk extension was significantly increased from $30.31{\pm}11.34cm$ to $40.88{\pm}6.16cm$ after education and physical exercise(P<0.05). Sit-up and Back sit-up were increased after physical exercise and education, but there were no statistical significances. These results suggest that graded low back exercise program with patient education about low back pain care increase the abdominal strength, endurance and the flexibility of waist in low back pain patients.

Optimization for Reduced-Fat / Low-NaCl Meat Emulsion Systems with Sea Mustard (Undaria pinnatifida) and Phosphate

  • The effects of reducing fat levels from 30% to 20% and salt concentrations from 1.5% to 1.0% by partially substituting incorporated phosphate and sea mustard were investigated based on physicochemical properties of reduced-fat / low-NaCl meat emulsion systems. Cooking loss and emulsion stability, hardness, springiness, and cohesiveness for reduced-fat / low-NaCl meat emulsion systems with 20% pork back fat and 1.2% sodium chloride samples with incorporation of phosphate and sea mustard were similar to the control with 30% pork back fat and 1.5% sodium chloride. Results showed that reduced-fat / low-NaCl meat emulsion system samples containing phosphate and sea mustard had higher apparent viscosity. The results of this study show that the incorporation of phosphate and sea mustard in the formulation will successfully reduce fat and salt in the final meat products.

  • 소의 질을 평가하기 위해서는 중요한 인자인 근육내 지방(또는 마블링)을 조절하는 분자를 연구해야 한다. cDNA microarray를 사용하여 등지방 조직과 최장근의 유전자발현 차이를 비교하였다. 이 연구를 통해, 우리는 한우의 지방조직에 1211개, 근육조직에서 1346개의 특이 유전자를 확인하였다. bovine chip은 지방조직의 920개 유전자와 근육조직의 760개 유전자로 이루어진 1680개의 특이 유전자로 구성되어있다. 이 실험에서 Microarray 분석은 등지방조직(Cy3)과 최장근(Cy5)의 유전자 발현에 있어서 큰 차이를 보여준다. 차이를 보이는 많은 특이유전자 중에서, 12-리폭시게나아제 유전자와 프로스타글란딘 D 합성효소는 근육내 지방의 축적을 조절하는 중요한 효소이다. 본 연구에서, 일반적으로 발현되지만 한우의 근육과 지방 조직에서 차이를 보이는 많은 유전자를 hybridization 분석을 통해 발견하였다. 선택된 유전자의 발현 수준은 반정량적 RT-PCR을 통해 확인하였고, 그 결과는 cDNA microarray와 유사하였다.

체지방률이 착의량체계에 미친 영향 (The effects of subcutaneos fat on the system of clothing weights)

  • The rates of subcutaneos fat on the system of clothing weights including clothing microclimate subjective sensations were measured to get basic data to develop guideline for healthy clothing life. for this study skinfold thickness the rate of subcutaneos fot clothing microclimate subjective sensations and clothing weights were measured from 85 male and 105 female colligians. The results were as follows: 1. The rate of subcutaneos fat showed negative correlation with the temperature inside clothing in chest but not with the temperatures in back and thigh. The correlation was not significant between the rate of subcutaneos fat and humidity inside clothing 2. The correlation between the rate of subcutaneos fat and thermal sensations was positively significant at 5% level. However no correlation was found between the rate of subcutaneos fat and humid sensations. 3. There was significant correlation between the rate of subcutaneos fat and under clothing weights and total clothing weights.

밀도법 및 피부두겹법에 의한 중년 남자의 총지방량 측정 (Total Body Fat Estimation by Means of Densitometry and Skinfold Thickness in Middle-Aged Men)

  • Formulas for the prediction of total body fat from skinfold thickness in middle aged men were presented. Hydrostatic weighing was made on 35 middle-aged men $(age:\;40{\sim}50\;years)$ sad corrected for residual volume in lung. Skinfold thickness at four sites, namely, arm, back, waist and abdomen were compared with total fat calculated from the formula given by Keys and Brozek and regression equations were derived. In middle-aged men the observed values were: Body density, 1.07478 ; total body fat, 10.51% body weight; lean body mass, 89.49% body weight; arm skinfold thickness, 4.85mm; back, 10.4 ; waist, 7.72; abdomen, 7.62 and mean skinfold thickness of the four sites, 7.59 mm. The correlations between skinfold thickness and body density were high. The correlations between skinfold thickness and total body fat were also high. The coefficient of correlation between total body fat and arm skinfold, mean skinfold thickness were r=0.839 and r=0.862, respectively. Arm and mean skinfold thicknesses (x, mm) could be used as the representative value for the prediction of total body fat (y, % body weight). The regression equations were: On arm y=2.00x+0.99, With mean skinfold y=1.20x+1.41 The coefficient of correlation between body weight (kg) and mean skinfold thickness was r=0.733. The ratio of mean skinfold thickness (mm) to body weight (kg) in middle-aged men was 0.132.

만성 요통환자중 비만그룹과 정상그룹과의 혈중지질 및 체력분석 (The analyses of blood lipids and physical fitness between normal and obese women of chronic low back pain patients)

  • To examine the blood lipids, muscle strength and flexibility at low back, and muscle strength in the knee joint, 44 women, who were diagnosed as chronic low back pain patients and aged between 40 to 50 years old, were recruited as the subjects. The women were divided into two groups: 1) body fat content less than 25% and 2) body fat content more than 30%. The results were: 1) No differences were found between two groups in blood lipids status. 2) The total cholesterol were less 3.78% in the normal group than the obese group. 3) The HDL-cholesterol were higher 4.85% in the normal group than the obese group. 4) The TG were less 13.1% in the normal group than the obese group. 5) No differences were found between two groups in muscle strength and flexibility 6) No differences were found between two groups in the peak torque of knee joint 7) The total work of the knee joints were higher in the normal group than the obese(P<.05). 8) The abdominal strength were higher 34.04% in the normal group than the obese group. 9) The flexibility of low back were higher 44.54% in the normal group than the obese group.
