Anallysis of the flow and noise characteristics of small turbo fan in a ultra slim note PC (초박형 노트북 냉각 터보팬의 유동 및 소음 분석)

  • In recent years, a notebook like an ultrabook gets thinner. Its thickness causes problems in cooling fan performance, system installation condition, and so on. In this study, we installed a small turbofan in notebook system with very narrow gap in order to generate similar condition to a real product. Experiments were performed to measure the fan's performance and the flow and noise characteristics, its results were compared with computational ones. Prediction of P-Q curve using CFD showed under about 5% error in high flow rate and its trend was agreed with experimental one over the flow field. Experimental data to measure the noise at a distance of 100 mm from a rotation axis direction of an impeller corresponded well with computational ones of broadband and BPF noise. Computation of Internal BPF Noise of Axial Circulating Fan in Refrigerators (냉장고 내 냉기순환용 축류홴에 의한 내부 블레이드-통과-주파수 소음 예측)

  • Internal aeroacoustics of an axial fan used for circulating cold air in refrigerators are computed by using the hybrid method where CFD, acoustic analogy and BEM techniques are utilized. The unsteady flow field around the axial fan is predicted by solving the incompressible RANS equations with the conventional CFD techniques. Then, main noise sources are extracted from this unsteady flow field predictions using Acoustic Analogy. Lastly, BPF noise generated from an axial fan are predicted using these modeled sources combined with the tailed Green function techniques, which are numerically solved by the BEM technique. This hybrid model is validated by comparing the prediction with the experiment. Then, parameter studies are carried out, which suggest a capability of the current method as a design tool for the low-noise of the current axial fan system in a refrigerator.

  • An active capacitance circuit which employs series feedback network for the implement of negative resistance and low noise operation is analyzed in depth and its application to low noise active RF BPF's is discussed. Whereas many authors reported a lot of circuits that embody negative resistance circuit most of them have concerns for the equivalent resistance and reactance value at the center frequency. In this case, it could be possible to face a problem that the negative resistance circuit becomes unstable, or have poor flatness in passband because of insufficient forecast for the negative resistance values as the frequency goes higher or lower. In this paper, we extracted the exact equivalent values of this circuit and analyzed the RF characteristics with the varying the values of active devices and feedback circuits and presented the method that the flatness of passband can be improved. We have designed a 4-pole active BPF, which has the bandwidth of 60 ㎒, 0.67 ㏈ insertion loss, 0.3 ㏈ ripple, and noise figure of 3.0 ㏈ at 1.99 ㎓ band.

  • In this paper, we suggests a Ka-band LNB considering next-generation UHD satellite TVRO. Since Ka-band has grater attenuation than Ku-band in atmosphere, we designed the low-noise down-converter to improve receiving sensitivity and to extend a dynamic range of receiver. It aims to compensate a quality of ultra high definition transmission signal for rainfall. The low-noise block diagram consists of a three-staged amplifier (LNA), band-pass filter for deleting image (BPF), mixer and IF when considering nonlinear characteristics in the receiver RF front end module. Also, we showed a LNB through optimization processes affecting dynamic range directly in receiver FEM. Asa resuly of experiment, the gain of low-noise down-converter show between 58.5dB and 60.7dB, the noise figure has a high characteristic as 1.38dB. Finally, the phase noise of local oscillator is -63.10dBc at 100MHz offset frequency.

  • High frequency noise of fuel pump has does claimed by user. But high frequency of fuel pump can't heat in the car. But this noise Is an offensive noise outside car. In this study is noise reduction used to mass law. Especially high frequency (for example BPF(blade pass frequency)) is influenced of this law. In detail used to transmission and add to mass according to mass law, reduced particular noise. As a result high frequency is down until can't perception.

  • Recently, RF systems have rapidly grown with the extension of the mobile communication service The mobile service companies are providing the satellite broadcasting and common usage are expected. Coinciding with current trend, the development of improved satellite DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) tuner is required. To improve the receiving sensitivity under the poor communication circumstance, It is necessary to design the LNA (Low Noise Amplifier) with outstanding low noise characteristic and the BPF (Bandpass Filter) to transmit only desired signal without distortion and loss. Besides high reliability, the miniaturization and lightweight are required for design of mobile terminals. In this study, we designed and fabricated DMB SIR-type BPF which operates at 2642 MHz and is embedded in the substrate using LTCC. As a result, we obtained the passband insertion loss of 2.4 dB and the passband ripple of 0.08 dB. So this DMB SIR-type BPF is applicable to RF module of a satellite DMB tuner.

Performance Improvement of Wave Information Retrieval Algorithm Using Noise Reduction

  • This paper describes the upgrade of an existing wave information retrieval algorithm by employing noise reduction in the pixel domain. Several algorithms for collecting wave information parameters from X-band radar image sequences including the wind field and current velocity have been developed over the past three decades. Using these algorithms, a band-pass filter (BPF) is applied to remove the non-wave contribution from the image spectra after the sea surface current velocity has been computed. However, such BPF designs have been both complex and insufficient in removing undesired components in X-band radar images. For this study, to improve the performance of wave information retrieval, an efficient noise reduction algorithm is incorporated into a regular wave information retrieval process. That is, the proposed algorithm was designed for operation in a more proper manner by effectively removing the undesired components in the pixel domain. Experiment results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm produces very close estimates to the buoy data records under undesirable noise conditions.

직사각형 통에 설치된 축류 홴의 소음 특성

  • 최근의 사회적 경제적인 급속한 발전에 따라 환경 소음에 대한 사람들의 관심도가 점차 증가되고 있다. 이로 인하여 사람들이 항상 접촉하게 되는 가전 제품 에 대한 소비자의 욕수도 제품의 성능적인면도 물론이지만 소음진동 및 디자인에 대하여도 지대한 관심이 모아지고 있다. 가전 제품에 있어서 주된 소음원은 홴 및 압축기 덮개의 진동등으로 파악할 수 있다. 특히, 홴은 냉각용, 송풍용으로서 거의 모든 가전제품에 쓰여지고 있다. 냉각용으로 사용되는 형식은 주로 축류 홴이다. 축류 홴은 다른 종류보다 소음이 크기 때문에, 저소음 축류 홴의 BPF(Blade Passing Frequency; 날개 통과 주파수)가 갖는 소음 특성을 연구하여야 한다. 이를 위해 축류 홴의 날개 갯수를 조절하면 설치된 통내에서의 BPF가 어떠한 형태로 변화하는가를 알아보고, 이에 따른 저소음화 대책을 검토하고자 한다. 홴은 그 덮개에 대하여 유량 및 소음에 관한 최적의 위치가 존재하는데, 문이 잠겨 있을 때에는 그 소음 레벨의 편차가 몹시 크게 된다. 한편 날개 갯수, 모터의 회전속도 및 통의 전달 함수 등을 감안하여 날개 통과 주파수(BPF)를 조정하면, 각종 가전 제품의 홴에 의한 방사를 저감시킬수 있다.

  • This paper deals with an algebraic compensator design for dynamic systems using a novel BPF transformation method. To obtain an algebraic compensator for the system, block pulse function's differential operation is used. Compare to unalgebraic compensator, proposed algebraic compensator is less sensitive to the measurement noise.

Online Blind Channel Normalization Using BPF-Based Modulation Frequency Filtering

  • We propose a new bandpass filter (BPF)-based online channel normalization method to dynamically suppress channel distortion when the speech and channel noise components are unknown. In this method, an adaptive modulation frequency filter is used to perform channel normalization, whereas conventional modulation filtering methods apply the same filter form to each utterance. In this paper, we only normalize the two mel frequency cepstral coefficients (C0 and C1) with large dynamic ranges; the computational complexity is thus decreased, and channel normalization accuracy is improved. Additionally, to update the filter weights dynamically, we normalize the learning rates using the dimensional power of each frame. Our speech recognition experiments using the proposed BPF-based blind channel normalization method show that this approach effectively removes channel distortion and results in only a minor decline in accuracy when online channel normalization processing is used instead of batch processing
