Because Ceramium fastigiatum Harvey (1834) is a later homonym of C. fastigiatum Roth (1806), a quite different plant from the former, it becomes illegitimate and must be rejected under the Article 64 of International Code of Botanical Nomenclature. For this reason, we suggest to give a new name, Ceramium fastigiramosum Boo et Lee, to the former species, keeping the original specific epithet‘fastigiatum’. The morphology of vegetative and reproductive structures is re-examined. The life history is confirmed as a Polysiphonia-type in laboratory culture.

We propose a method to reduce the marking expression about the places when we model a discrete-event system using the Petri net. The net with reduced marking expression has the same dynamic behavior as the original model. The number of the places can be reduced by the number of the resource places of the Petri net, and consequently the net can be significantly simplified, still preserving the dynamic properties of the net.

Electrical resistance tomograpy (ERT) maps resistivity values of the soil subsurface and characterizes buried objects. The characterization includes location, size, and resistivity of buried objects. In this paper, truncated least squares (TLS) is presented for the solution of the ERT image reconstruction. Results of numerical experiments in ERT solved by the TLS approach is presented and compared to that obtained by the Gauss-Newton method.

The ideals of the rings of integers are used to induce rational number system as operators(=group homomorphisms). We modify this inducing method to be effective in teaching rational numbers in secondary school. Indeed, this modification provides a nice model for explaining the equality property to define addition and multiplication of rational numbers. Also this will give some explicit ideas for students to understand the concept of 'field' efficiently comparing with the integer number system.

In this paper, we prove the Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability of the Cauchy functional equation f(x+y) = f(x)+f(y) and of the Jensen functional equation $2f(\frac{x+y}{2})=f(x)+f(y)$ over the p-adic field ${\mathbb{Q}}_p$. The concept of Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability originated from the Th.M. Rassias' stability theorem that appeared in his paper: On the stability of the linear mapping in Banach spaces, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 72 (1978), 297-300.

유비쿼터스 환경이 도래하면서 모바일 화상회의 시스템의 사용욕구가 증대되고 있다. 모바일 화상회의 시스템은 사용자가 가지고 있는 다양한 모바일 장치에의 적용과 무선 환경에서의 고용량 데이터의 전송을 요구한다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 플랫폼에서 구동할 수 있고 고용량 데이터의 무선 환경에서의 안정적인 전송을 위한 시스템 구조를 제안한다.
