고분자 재료는 일반적으로 전기적인 특성이 우수하고 가격이 저렴하기 때문에 케이블이나 wire의 절연재료로 널리 사용되고 있다. 그러나, 합성 고분자 물질은 대부분 유기 화합물로서 가연성을 지니고 있으며 작은 화재에서도 화염을 확산시켜서 경제적으로 막대한 손실을 유발할 수도 있으므로, 전기절연용 재료로 사용되는 합성 고분자 물질은 그 자체의 전기적 특성이 우수해야 할 뿐만 아니라 난연성을 부여할 필요할 필요가 있다.(중략)

고분자 애자용 재료로 EPDM, 폴리에틸렌, 에폭시, 실리론 고무 등이 사용되고 있으며, 이중 실리콘 고무는 내후성, 내트랙킹성, 내아크성, 내환경성, 발수성등이 우수하다는 것이 많은 연구를 통해 밝혀졌다. 그러나, 옥외용 고분자는 다양한 환경에 의한 열화에 의해 낮은 인열강도를 나타내고 반복 열화에 따라 전기적 특성과 기계적 강도가 급격히 저하하는 단점을 가지고 있다.(중략)

Design of manufacturing process, in general, facilitates the creation of new process that may potentially harm the workers. Design of safety-guaranteed manufacturing process is, therefore, very important since it determines the ultimate outcomes of manufacturing activities involving safety of workers. This study discusses application of discrimination information (cross entropy) to safety assessment of manufacturing processes. The idea is based on the general principles of design and their applications. An example of Cartesian robotic movement is given.

Optimum screening procedures using prior information are presented. An optimal cutoff value on the screening variable X minimizing the expected total cost is obtained for the normal model; it is assumed that a continuous screening variable X given a dichotomous performance variable T is normally distributed and that costs are incurred by screening inspection and misclassification errors. Methods for finding optimal cutoff values based on the prior distributions for unknown parameters are presented.

The accurate measurement of soil resistivity and earthing system resistance is fundamental to electrical safety. However, geological and meterological factors can have a considerable effect on the accuracy of conventional measurements and the validity of the measurement methods. Exposure of testis to 2-BP is known to cause degeneration of male germ cells. However, the mechanism underlying this process is poorly understood.
