Determinants of Trust in Power Blogs and Their Effect on Purchase Intention (파워블로그의 신뢰 요인이 제품 및 서비스 구매 의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is focusing on factors influencing trust in power blogs, and the effect of trust on users' attitude and purchase intention. The research model is based on the theory of online trust formation process and content quality. The statistical analysis was conducted through the survey of 122 power blog users. Research findings show that scope, accuracy, uniqueness, links, quality of wring, and reputation of power blogs significantly affect trust. Also, trust was found to have a significant influence on the users' attitude and purchasing intention on products/services.

A Study on the Production Activities of Consumer Information on Blog for Married Women (기혼여성의 블로그 소비자정보 생산활동에 관한 연구)

  • Recently a prevailing trend in marketing has been the use of consumer participations or prosumer activities and this has caused consumers to become skeptical in their treatment of information found on blogs. Therefore, these marketing practices can be usefully examined to ensure they represent a neutral source of information for consumers. This study thus investigated married women's production activities of consumer information using personal blogs, their motives and experiences, and the characteristics of the information they produced. A qualitative study was undertaken using focus group interviews with two groups of sixteen married women in their 30's and 40's. Results suggested that personal bloggers' information production activities were primarily initiated by businesses and that bloggers were paid for their activities either with money or through the products they reviewed. Although the information produced was, because of its basis in consumer experience, consumer friendly, its quality was limited in the sense because it primarily reflected the perspective of businesses. The bloggers, themselves, expressed ethical uncertainty about their practices. Implications for consumer education and policy were also discussed.

  • The purpose of this paper is to review research articles on social computing and to provide the future directions of the study. A total of 51 articles published in social scientific journals from 2006 to 2010 are analysed by research theme, methodology, level of analysis, and application area. It is found that most of the studies are addressing blogs and mainly focusing on societal concepts rather than organizational concepts. The predominant methodology is field study at the individual level of analysis. We suggest that future researches on social computing need to address more various topics and application areas. Also diversity in terms of methodology and level of analysis is required.

  • Blogs that allow two way communications are open to the public more than 20 million sites these days. The study tries to categorize and classify blogs based on the common representative factors. As blogs are changing dynamically, the study also tries to figure out key factors either for growing or perishing dynamics. The study develops the research idea from the independent variables such as contents factors and psychological factors to the controlling factors such as trust, attitude, and purchasing intention. The research found out that opinion leading and information seeking tendency are significantly related to the attitude to the internet shopping mall.

The Topic-Rank Technique for Enhancing the Performance of Blog Retrieval (블로그 검색 성능 향상을 위한 주제-랭크 기법)

  • As people have heightened attention to blogs that are individual media, a variety rank algorithms was proposed for the blog search. These algorithms was modified for structural features of blogs that differ from typical web sites, and measured blogs' reputations or popularities based on the interaction results like links, comments or trackbacks and reflected in the search system. But actual blog search systems use not only blog-ranks but also search words, a time factor and so on. Nevertheless, those might not produce desirable results. In this paper, we suggest a topic-rank technique, which can find blogs that have significant degrees of association with topics. This technique is a method which ranks the relations between blogs and indexed words of blog posts as well as the topics representing blog posts. The blog rankings of correlations with search words are can be effectively computed in the blog retrieval by the proposed technique. After comparing precisions and coverage ratios of our blog retrieval system which applis our proposed topic-rank technique, we know that the performance of the blog retrieval system using topic-rank technique is more effective than others.

This paper gives an overview of RSS technologies and implement a suitable RSS client for educational blogs. In addition to that, this paper propose a method for classification system in order to improve a RSS client.

  • Recently, the Web 2.0 and RSS techniques have gained enormous attention in the Internet and e-Learning fields. In this paper, we design a RSS system on the Web 2,0 base for e-Learning, and implement the educational RSS information sharing system for back-to-basic curriculum of secondary schools that is called EduRSS. Our EduRSS can create web feed file with RSS format from learning blogs for back-to-basic curriculum, and share it with other users conveniently. In addition, it also provide the recommendation function to improve the reliability of the RSS feed resources.

  • The Internet has been developed interactive media for electronic commerce. This progress is affected by the growth and adoption of virtual community technology, real time dialogue, and video conference etc. Recently, 'blogs' are rapidly diffusing to personal media on the internet. In this paper, we first review the previous research relevant to 'blogs', and then analyze the business models for blog systems presented by previous researchers. We develop a yard-sale shopping mall on the basis of analysis, design, and implementation of blog application for e-commerce, using Mcrosoft ASP.Net. This article describes the yard-sale shopping mall on a blog, presents an example of its abilities, and describes planned future research.

  • In this study, we investigate the possibility of deploying a recently emerging Internet-based technology, called Web log or Blog, to address the problems of knowledge transfer and sharing, particularly in the case of tacit knowledge. We examined the use practice of four blogs and then identified several properties relevant to knowledge transfer and sharing. They include the specific style of blog format, content ownership attribution, posted article organization, communication tools and method, news feed function, and various links from/to outside websites. These features were argued to facilitate knowledge transfer and sharing. In particular, we discussed a great deal about the structure of comments and links as tools for collaboration and idea sharing, which enables the knowledge conversion processes (socialization, externalization, combination, and internalization), We then provide several guidelines to develop blogs as a knowledge management tool.

  • Our purpose is to develope the system which detects splogs automatically among blogs on Web environment. After removing HTML of blogs, they are tagged by part of speech(POS) tagger. Words and their POS tags information is used as a feature type. Among features, we select useful features with $x^2$ statistics and train the SVM with the selected features. Our system acquired 90.5% of F1 measure with SPLOG data set.
