디지털 PI제어에 의한 브러시리스 직류모터의 안정도 향상 (The Stability Improvement of Brushless DC Motor by Digital PI Control)

  • 본 연구에서는 브러시리스 직류모터의 적합한 수학적 동가 모텔링을 구성하였으며 제어대상 BLOC 모터에 스 웹입력이 있는 상태로 역기전력의 측정에 의한 모터 파라미터를 측정하였다. 그리고 제시된 측정법의 타당성은 스템웅답의 실험결과에 의해서 확인하였다. 또한 훌센서로된 BLOC 모터의 오픈루프 전달함수로부터 얻은 근궤 적법의 결과에 따라 적합한 디지털제어기를 셜계하였으며 속도제어 가변을 위한 제어이득을 결정하였다. 여기서 수정된 Ziegler-Nichols의 동조법은 적합한 디지털 게인 설정을 위해서 적용되었으며 시스템의 안정성은 보드선 도와 실험으로 주파수영역의 해석에 의해서 입증하였다.

A Study on the Enhanced Filtering for the Removal of BEMF in BLDC Motors

  • This paper used the majority function to digitally filter back-electromotive force as an explanation of the Brushless DC MOTOR control algorithm. The cause and improvement of motor noise, which are operating in close proximity to high frequency sources, did not use conventional low pass filter and comparator elements. Also, they repeatedly output a noise-free BEMF signal for the input value of the majority detection filtering. These filtering steps can help reduce costs and minimize the area of a PCB by requiring relatively little hardware.

  • This paper presents a design method of programmable low pass filter(PLPF) which reduce an estimation error of a zero crossing point(ZCP) for a high speed brushless DC(BLDC) motor drive. BLDC motor sensorless drive is possible by estimation of ZCP. The ZCP estimated by detecting a change of back-EMF polarity has the estimation error because noises exist on the measured back-EMF. Therefore a calculated commutation timing using the ZCP is inaccurate. And the inexact commutation timing leads to ripples of 3-phase current and degradation of drive performance. This paper proposes the design method of the PLPF to overcome these problems. First, a speed calculated a inaccurate period of the ZCP is analyzed in the frequency domain. Then, the PLPF that has varying cut-off frequency according to change of the speed is designed on the frequency analysis result. The proposed method is verified by the experiment.

  • A brushless DC motor has the high quality of torque output and silence, has been more widely used in industrial area. As the driver and controller of BLDC motor have been more complicated and precise, simulation method has been much used in motor design. And the output characteristics of BLDC motor is determined by the waveform of BACK-KMF in instinct. But because the conventional model of BLDC motor is obtained by approximation of real nonlinear waveform to ideal trapezoidal waveform, the error is occurred in simulation result. Thus in this paper, for the correction of this error in simulation, the model of real nonlinear waveform considered is proposed, and the simulation result is obtained in case of three-phase, four-poles Y-connected, surface mounted permanent magnet BLDC motor.

  • Several techniques have been adopted in motor design of interior permanent magnet (IPM) type brushless DC (BLDC) motor to minimize cogging torque. IPM type motor has better ability in the centralization of flux than surface-mounted permanent magnet (SPM) type BLDC motor. So, the structure of IPM type BLDC motor has high saliency ratios that produce additional torque. However, this structure has a significant cogging torque that generates both vibration and noise. This paper describes new technique of the flux barriers design for reduction of cogging torque of IPM type BLDC motor. To reduce the cogging torque, flux barriers are applied in the rotor. Changing the number of barrier, the cogging torque is analyzed by finite clement method(FEM).

  • Brushless DC(이하 BLDC) 모터는 에너지절감 차원이나 속도 및 토크제어에 대한 우수성 때문에 그 활용이 점차 증가하고 있다. 그러나 다양한 환경의 응용분야에 따라 제어기 및 구동회로가 별도로 필요하고, 또 모터와는 별개로 외장형으로 설계되어 있어 설치 및 운용에 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 유증기회수장치(VRS)용으로 BLDC모터와 제어회로가 일체화되도록 제작하였으며, 마이크로프로세서를 적용하여 다양한 주변 환경에 따른 지능적인 동작이 가능하도록 설계하였다. 또한 TCP/IP 모듈을 내장하여 원격지에서 웹을 통해 제어할 수 있도록 설계하여 작동의 편의성을 고려하였다.

SMC를 이용한 HDD용 스핀들 모터 (Spindle Motors using SMC for HDD)

  • This paper is presented for the development of the brushless DC(BLDC) motor for the spindle motor of hard disk drives(HDD). A new BLDC Motor has the use of insulated, compacted, and iron powder for the armature core material of BLDC motors. Insulated iron powder in this paper is generally called soft magnet composite(SMC). The SMC is used for the stator of the motor instead of the laminated steel core. The motor used by SMC can have the good advantages in condition of the high frequency input power and small sized motor. It gets much more high efficiency than laminated steel core at same input power. The proposed motor has a technique of speed sensorless control. Experimental results show the performance of the proposed BLDC motors for an HDD.

BLDC 모터의 토크리플을 줄이기 위한 외란 관측기 기반 제어기 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Torque Ripple Reduction in Brushless DC Motors using Disturbance-Observer Controller)

  • In this paper, we study the problem of torque ripple minimization in Brushless DC Motors (BLDC) and proposes a disturbance observer (DOB) based controller in order to efficiently reduce the torque ripple. In the DOB based control system, an equivalent disturbance (plant disturbance and effect of modelling error) is cancelled by its estimate. When the DOB controller is applied to BLDC motors, the effect of inverter switching is considered as an equivalent disturbance and to be cancelled by the DOB controller. Through computer simulations, it is shown that the performance of the proposed DOB controller is superior to that of the conventional PI controller. In the case where the numerical values of resistance and inductance are not known exactly, it is shown that the proposed DOB controller achieves better performance than the PI controller.

A Design Optimization of Asymmetric Air-gap Structure for Small 3-phase Permanent Magnet SPM BLDC Motor

  • As many researchers are relentlessly trying to improve the power generation schemes from the power grid, to meet the constantly increasing electricity demand. In this paper, the results of a finite element analysis are carried out to study on a design optimization of an asymmetric air-gap structure in 3-phase Permanent Magnet Brushless DC Motors. To achieve a high efficiency for a 3-phase PM BLDC motor, the asymmetric air-gap structure is proposed considering the rotation direction of a motor. Generally, a single-phase BLDC motor is applied asymmetric air-gap structure for starting. This is because the asymmetric air-gap structure causes reluctance variation so the motor can utilize reluctance torque toward a rotation direction. In this paper, the asymmetric air-gap is applied to 3-phase BLDC SPM motor so it utilizes reluctance torque with alignment torque. A proposed model is designed by 2-D FE analysis and the results are verified by experimental test.

싱글전류센서를 적용한 BLDC 전동기 속도제어시스템 시뮬레이션 (Simulation of Speed Conrtol System for Brushless DC Motor Drives Using a Single DC Current Sensor)

  • 본 논문에서는 싱글전류센서를 이용하여 브러시리스 직류 전동기의 속도제어시스템 시뮬레이션 방법 및 그 결과을 제시한다. BLDC 전동기 제어에 매우 중요한 역할을 가지고 있는 피드백 센서 방식으로 싱글 전류검출센서를 이용한 속도제어 방법은 모터 설계의 비용을 낮추고, 심플한 제어기 설계를 가능하게 한다. 또한, 전동기에 손상을 줄 수 있는 오류조건을 감지함으로서 신뢰성을 향상시켜 줄 수 있다. 시뮬레이션에 사용하는 BLDC 전동기는 3상 Y결선 전동기를 모델로 하며 MATLAB/SIMULINK를 사용한 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 그 성능을 분석하였다.
