The Empirical Study on Relationship Between Evaluation Index Characteristics for Occupancy of Business Incubator(BI) and BI Performance : focused on the Moderating Effect of BI Competence (창업보육센터(BI) 입주심사지표특성과 성과의 관계에 관한 실증연구 -BI 역량의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • With recent increase in growth without employment and unemployment rate, Business Incubator (BI), which is the birthplace of business start-up, is drawing much attention. Therefore, numerous studies had been carried out from the perspectives of efficient operation and performances of BI. Preceding studies at home and abroad were concentrated mainly on the effect of Critical Success Factors of BI on performance, or on internal operational programs or support services of BI. Recently, assertion that potential capacity of companies located in BI at the time of their commencement of occupancy imparts effect on the performance has been presented. Therefore, this Study, in order to pursue research on above issues, will, firstly, analyze the effect of the characteristics of evaluation of companies wishing to be located in BI conducted by each BI, and, secondly, regulation effect of characteristics of evaluation of companies wishing to be located in BI imparted on performance in connection with the work capabilities of BI and capabilities of manager. The results of analysis illustrated that the expertise, among the capabilities of CEO, imparts affirmative effect on the success rate of business start-up. Product competitiveness and marketability displayed affirmative effect on the success rate of business start-up when work capability (operational intensity) is applied. In particular, although the financing capability of CEO of the company located in BI, as an important factor, imparts negative effect on the success rate of business start-up, it implies affirmative regulation effect through the capabilities of manager.

  • This paper proposes a High Performance Full-Swing BiCMOS (HiF-BiCMOS) circuit which improves on the conventional BiCMOS circuit. The HiF-BiCMOS circuit has all the merits of the conventional BiCMOS circuit and can realize full-swing logic operation. Especially, the speed of full-swing logic operation is much faster than that of conventional full-swing BiCMOS circuit. And the number of transistors added in the HiF-BiCMOS for full-swing logic operation is constant regardless of the number of logic gate inputs. The HiF-BiCMOS circui has high stability to variation of environment factors such as temperature. Also, it has a preamorphized Si layer was changed into the perfect crystal Si after the RTA. Remarkable scalability for power supply voltage according to the development of VLSI technology. The power dissipation of HiF-BiCMOS is very small and hardly increases about a large fanout. Though the Spice simulation, the validity of the proposed circuit design is proved.

Improvement in Tensile Strength, Scratch Resistance and Tribological Performance of Cu-based Bimetals by Surface Modification Technology (표면개질 기술에 의한 Cu 기반 바이메탈의 인장강도, 스크래치 저항성 및 트라이볼로지 성능 향상)

  • In this study, an ultrasonic nanocrystal surface modification (UNSM) was used to improve the mechanical properties, scratch resistance and tribological performance of Cu-based bimetals, which are usually used to manufacture sliding bearings and bushings for internal combustion engines (ICEs). Two different Cu-based bimetals, namely CuPb10Sn10 and CuSn10Bi7, were sintered onto a low carbon steel substrate. The mechanical properties and dry tribological performance using a tensile tester and micro-tribo tester were evaluated, respectively. The scratch resistance was assessed using a micro-scratch tester at an incremental load. The tensile test results showed that the yield strength (YS) and ultimate tensile strength (UTS) of both Cu-based bimetals increased after UNSM. Furthermore, the scratch and tribological tests results revealed that the scratch resistance and tribological performance of both Cu-based bimetals were improved by the application of UNSM. These improvements were mainly attributed to the eliminated pores, increased hardness and reduced roughness after UNSM. CuSn10Bi7 demonstrated better mechanical properties, scratch resistance and tribological performance than CuPb10Sn10. It was found that the presence of Bi in CuSn10Bi7 formed a Cu11Bi7 intermetallic phase, which is harder than Cu3Sn. Hence, CuSn10Bi7 demonstrated higher strength and wear resistance than CuPb10Sn10. In addition, a CuSn10Bi7 formed both SnO2 and Bi2O3 that prevented adhesion and improved the tribological performance. It can be expected that under dry tribological conditions, ICEs can utilize UNSM bearings and bushings made of CuSn10Bi7 instead of CuPb10Sn10 under oil-lubricated conditions.

A Study on the Impact of Incubating Services Between BI Centers and the Firms in the BI (창업보육센터와 입주업체의 비교를 통한 창업보육센터의 효과적 운영전략에 대한 연구)

  • Business Incubators(BI) guide starting-up firms through their growth process and as such constitute a strong instrument to promote innovation and entrepreneurship. This study classified the incubating services into communication, physical facilities, human resources, marketing, financial, legal, technology, and networking services. The research problem was tested with data from 103 BI centers and 561 starting-up firms in BI. The results from the survey are as follows: First, incubating services to important for the BI's performance are networking, communication, human resources, physical facilities, and marketing services. Second, the incubating services to satisfy on the firms in the BI are financial, human resources, marketing, communication, networking, and physical facilities services. Third, there are the differences between BI center and the firms in the BI by each incubating service except communication service. Finally, the results of MSEM(Multi-group Structured Equation Modeling) indicate the communication and networking services are more strongly affected to the performance at the BI centers. Vice versa, the marketing and financial services are more strongly affected to the satisfaction at the firms in the BI centers. Starting-up firms in business incubators showed strong desire to receive better support in such fields as marketing and financial services. BI needs to recognize such demand and provide improved services in such areas. Starting-up firms did not recognize the utility and importance of services in networking with other firms and supporting human resources. BI needs to promote services in such areas. Concerning communication services and physical facility support service, both BI and starting-up firms showed satisfactory levels of services.

  • In this paper, we propose a sentiment analysis model that improves performance on small-scale data. A sentiment analysis model for small-scale data is proposed and verified through experiments. To this end, we propose Bagging-Bi-GRU, which combines Bi-GRU, which learns GRU, which is a variant of LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory) with excellent performance on sequential data, in both directions and the bagging technique, which is one of the ensembles learning methods. In order to verify the performance of the proposed model, it is applied to small-scale data and large-scale data. And by comparing and analyzing it with the existing machine learning algorithm, Bi-GRU, it shows that the performance of the proposed model is improved not only for small data but also for large data.

  • The underpotential deposited Bi on Pt($Bi_{upd}/Pt$) anode for formic acid fuel cells (FAFCs) was developed using multi-layered preparation method for better electrocatalytic utilization of Pt. The electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) result indicated that $Bi_{upd}$ remains through the catalyst layer during stability test. In performance test, the multilayered $Bi_{upd}$ on Pt black showed superior performance by approximately 200 mV at current density of $150mA/cm^2$ compared with PtRu black anode catalyst. Based on preparation condition of $Bi_{upd}/Pt$ black, carbon supported $Bi_{upd}/Pt/C$ electrode was prepared and it showed enhanced performance and stability.

  • Multi-Task Learning(MTL) is a training method that trains a single neural network with multiple tasks influences each other. In this paper, we compare performance of MTL Named entity recognition(NER) model trained with Korean traditional culture corpus and other NER model. In training process, each Bi-LSTM layer of Part of speech tagging(POS-tagging) and NER are propagated from a Bi-LSTM layer to obtain the joint loss. As a result, the MTL based Bi-LSTM model shows 1.1%~4.6% performance improvement compared to single Bi-LSTM models.

  • BiCMOS is the newly developed technology that integrates both CMOS and bipolar structures on the same integrated circuit. Improved performance can be obtained from combining the advantages of high density and low power in CMOS with the speed and current capibility advantages by bipolar. However, the major drawbacks to BiCMOS are high cost, long fabrication time and difficulty of merging CMOS with bipolar without degrading of device Performance because CMOS and bipolar share same process step. In this paper, N-Well CMOS oriented BiCMOS process and optimization of device performance are studied when N-Well links CMOS with bipolar process step by 2D process and 3D Device simulation. From the simulation, Constriction of linking process step has been understood and provided to give the method of choosing BiCMOS for various analog design request.

Recent Progress in Bi-Te-based Thermoelectric Materials (Bi-Te계 열전소재 연구 동향)

  • Thermoelectric (TE) technology is becoming increasingly important in applications of solid-state cooling and renewable energy sources. $Bi_2Te_3$-based TE materials are widely used in small-scale cooling and temperature control applications; however, higher levels of TE performance are required for new applications such as large-scale cooling (e.g., domestic refrigerators or air conditioners) and for highly efficient power generation system. Recently, the TE performance of $Bi_2Te_3$-based materials has been remarkably enhanced by the introduction of nanostructuring technologies which can be used to prepare TE raw materials. Because it takes into account the theoretical and experimental characteristics, nanostructuring has been shown to be one of the most promising ways to realize the simultaneous control of the electronic and thermal transport properties. In this review, emphasis is placed on bulk-type nanostructured $Bi_2Te_3$-based TE materials. Nanostructuring technologies for enhanced TE performance are summarized, and a few important strategies are presented.

A Two-bit Bus-Invert Coding Scheme With a Mid-level State Bus-Line for Low Power VLSI Design

  • A new bus-invert coding circuit, called Two-bit Bus-Invert Coding (TBIC) is presented. TBIC partitions a bus into a set of two-bit sub-buses, and applies the bus-invert (BI) algorithm to each sub-bus. Unlike ordinary BI circuits using invert-lines, TBIC does not use an invert-line, so that it sends coding information through a bus-line. To transmit 3-bit information with 2 bus-lines, TBIC allows one bus-line to have a mid-level state, called M-state. TBIC increases the performance of BI algorithm, by suppressing the generation of overhead transitions. TBIC reduces bus transitions by about 45.7%, which is 83% greater than the maximum achievable performance of ordinary BI with invert-lines.
