아스팔트 표층과 RCC 기층 계면에서의 부착특성 연구 (Bond Characteristics at the Interface between HMA Surface and RCC Base)

  • PURPOSES : A composite pavement utilizes both an asphalt surface and a concrete base. Typically, a concrete base layer provides structural capacity, while an asphalt surface layer provides smoothness and riding quality. This pavement type can be used in conjunction with rollercompacted concrete (RCC) pavement as a base layer due to its fast construction, economic efficiency, and structural performance. However, the service life and functionality of composite pavement may be reduced due to interfacial bond failure. Therefore, adequate interfacial bonding between the asphalt surface and the concrete base is essential to achieving monolithic behavior. The purpose of this study is to investigate the bond characteristics at the interface between asphalt (HMA; hot-mixed asphalt) and the RCC base. METHODS : This study was performed to determine the optimal type and application rate of tack coat material for RCC-base composite pavement. In addition, the core size effect, temperature condition, and bonding failure shape were analyzed to investigate the bonding characteristics at the interface between the RCC base and HMA surface. To evaluate the bond strength, a pull-off test was performed using different diameters of specimens such as 50 mm and 100 mm. Tack coat materials such as RSC-4 and BD-Coat were applied in amounts of 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 0.9, and $1.1l/m^2$ to determine the optimal application rate. In order to evaluate the bond strength characteristics with temperature changes, a pull-off test was carried out at -15, 0, 20, and $40^{\circ}C$. In addition, the bond failure shapes were analyzed using an image analysis program after the pull-off tests were completed. RESULTS : The test results indicated that the optimal application rate of RSC-4 and BD-Coat were $0.8l/m^2$, $0.9l/m^2$, respectively. The core size effect was determined to be negligible because the bond strengths were similar in specimens with diameters of 50 mm and 100 mm. The bond strengths of RSC-4 and BD-Coat were found to decrease significantly when the temperature increased. As a result of the bonding failure shape in low-temperature conditions such as -15, 0, and $20^{\circ}C$, it was found that most of the debonding occurred at the interface between the tack coat and RCC surface. On the other hand, the interface between the HMA and tack coat was weaker than that between the tack coat and RCC at a high temperature of $40^{\circ}C$. CONCLUSIONS : This study suggested an optimal application rate of tack coat materials to apply to RCC-base composite pavement. The bond strengths at high temperatures were significantly lower than the required bond (tensile) strength of 0.4 MPa. It was known that the temperature was a critical factor affecting the bond strength at the interface of the RCC-base composite pavement.

중증 급성 중독 환자에서 급성 신장 손상과 병원 내 사망률을 예측하기 위한 강이온차(Strong Ion Gap)의 중요성 (The Significance of the Strong Ion Gap in Predicting Acute Kidney Injury and In-hospital Mortality in Critically Ill Patients with Acute Poisoning)

  • Purpose: A high anion gap (AG) is known to be a significant risk factor for serious acid-base imbalances and death in acute poisoning cases. The strong ion difference (SID), or strong ion gap (SIG), has recently been used to predict in-hospital mortality or acute kidney injury (AKI) in patients with systemic inflammatory response syndrome. This study presents a comprehensive acid-base analysis in order to identify the predictive value of the SIG for disease severity in severe poisoning. Methods: A cross-sectional observational study was conducted on acute poisoning patients treated in the emergency intensive care unit (ICU) between December 2015 and November 2020. Initial serum electrolytes, base deficit (BD), AG, SIG, and laboratory parameters were concurrently measured upon hospital arrival and were subsequently used along with Stewart's approach to acid-base analysis to predict AKI development and in-hospital death. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) and logistic regression analysis were used as statistical tests. Results: Overall, 343 patients who were treated in the intensive care unit were enrolled. The initial levels of lactate, AG, and BD were significantly higher in the AKI group (n=62). Both effective SID [SIDe] (20.3 vs. 26.4 mEq/L, p<0.001) and SIG (20.2 vs. 16.5 mEq/L, p<0.001) were significantly higher in the AKI group; however, the AUC of serum SIDe was 0.842 (95% confidence interval [CI]=0.799-0.879). Serum SIDe had a higher predictive capacity for AKI than initial creatinine (AUC=0.796, 95% CI=0.749-0.837), BD (AUC=0.761, 95% CI=0.712-0.805), and AG (AUC=0.660, 95% CI=0.607-0.711). Multivariate logistic regression analyses revealed that diabetes, lactic acidosis, high SIG, and low SIDe were significant risk factors for in-hospital mortality. Conclusion: Initial SIDe and SIG were identified as useful predictors of AKI and in-hospital mortality in intoxicated patients who were critically ill. Further research is necessary to evaluate the physiological nature of the toxicant or unmeasured anions in such patients.

콩 배아로 부터 Isoflavone과 Soyasaponin의 동시 분리 (Isolation of Isoflavones and Soyasaponins from the Germ of Soybean)

  • 콩 관련 제품을 생산하는 과정에서 발생되는 부산물은 가축의 사료 및 퇴비 등에 이용되고 있으나 일부는 폐기물로 처리되어 추가 비용 및 각종 환경오염을 유발하는 등 사회적인 문제점으로 지적되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 가공 부산물로 다량 발생되는 콩 배아를 활용하여 생리활성물질인 isoflavone과 soyasaponin을 동시에 분리하는 방법을 개발하고자 실시하였다. 1. 콩 배아 methanol 추출물을 preparative $C_{18}$ column에 주입하고, 210 nm의 파장에서 0.5% 초산 용액 30%로부터 100% acetonitrile까지 분당 15mL의 유속으로 53분간 흘려주어 isoflavone과 soyasaponin 분획을 동시에 분리하였다. 2. Preparative $C_{18}$ column으로 분리된 isoflavone 및 soyasaponin 분획은 동결건조시켜 isoflavone 분말 ISF-1과 soyasaponin SAP-1, SAP-2, SAP-3 및 SAP-4의 분말을 얻었다. 3. Isoflavone 분획 ISF-1의 재분리는 젤투과 컬럼에서 100% acetonitrile을 분당 5 mL가 되도록 흘려주면서 254nm 파장에서 관찰하여 2종의 분획 ISF-1-1 및 ISF-1-2을 분리하였다. 4. 분리된 2종의 isoflavone 중 ISF-1-1은 그 조성이 daidzin, glycitin 및 genistin 이고, ISF-1-2는 genistin 단일물질이 주성분인 것으로 나타났다. 5. 분리된 4종의 soyasaponin 중 SP-1은 soyasaponin A계열인 Aa(MW: 1364), Ab(MW: 1436), Ac(MW: 1420), Ae(MW: 1202), Af(MW: 1274), SAP-2는 B계열인 Ba(MW: 958), Bb(MW: 942), Bc(MW: 912)와 E계열인 Bd(MW: 956), Be(MW: 940), SAP-3는 B계열인 Ba, Bb, Bc, E계열인 Bd, Be와 DDMP계열인 ${\beta}g$(MW: 1068), SAP-4는 B계열인 Ba, Bb, Bc, E계열인 Bd, Be와 DDMP계열인 ${\beta}g$, ${\beta}a$(MW: 1038)가 주성분임을 알 수 있었다.

Journal of the Environmental Sciences A Study on the Operating Conditions to Eliminate Feedpipe Backmixing for Fast Competitive Reactions

  • A novel conductivity technique was developed to detect penetration depth of the vessel fluid into the feedpipe. For a given reactor geometry, critical agitator speeds were experimentally determined at the onset of feedpipe backmixing using Rushton 6 bladed disk turbine (6BD) and high efficiency axial flow type 3 bladed (HE-3) impellers. The ratio of the feedpipe velocity to the critical agitator speed ($v_f/v_t$) was constant for either laminar or turbulent feedpipe flow regimes. Compared to the results of fast competitive reaction, feedpipe backmixing had to penetrate at least one feedpipe diameter into the feedpipe to significantly influence the yield of the side product. However, higher $v_f/v_t$ than that for L/d = 0 (position at the feedpipe end) of the conductivity technique is recommended to completely eliminate feedpipe backmixing in conservative design criteria. The conductivity technique was successful in all feedpipe flow conditions of laminar, transitional and turbulent flow regimes.

  • Mo-Cu alloys have been widely used for heat sink materials, vacuum technology, automobile, and many other applications due to their excellent physical and electric properties. Especially, Mo-Cu composites with 5 ~ 20 wt.% copper are widely used for the heavy duty service contacts due to their excellent properties like low coefficient of thermal expansion, wear resistance, high temperature strength, and prominent electrical and thermal conductivity. In most of the applications, highly-dense Mo-Cu materials with homogeneous microstructure are required for better performance. In this study, Mo-Cu alloys were prepared by PBM (planetary ball milling) and SPS (spark plasma sintering). The effect of Cu with contents of 5~20 wt.% on the microstructure and thermal properties of Mo-Cu alloys was investigated.

타락을 이용한 아이스크림류의 품질 특성 (Quality Characteristics of Ice Creams using Tarak)

  • 본 연구에서는 우리나라 고유의 전통발효유인 타락을 이용하여 디저트식품으로 선호도가 높은 아이스크림 제품류을 제조하고(sherbet 1종, 아이스밀크 2종(IM-2, IM-4), 아이스크림 1종(IC-6)), 각 타락 아이스크림류의 품질 특성을 알아보고자 한다. 타락 아이스크림류의 믹스의 점도는 수분 함량이 가장 높은 Sherbet이 가장 낮았고, 고형분 함량이 가장 높은 IC-6이 유의적으로 높았다. 오버런은 10분에서는 유지방함량이 높았던 IC-6이 높은 값을 나타냈고, 최종 30분에서는 모든 시료간의 유의적 차가 없었다. 녹아내리는 정도는 IC-6이 가장 높았고, Sherbet이 가장 낮은 값으로 측정되었다. 유산균수는 Sherbet은 7.32 Log CFU/g으로 유의적으로 낮게 계측되었고, IM-2, IM-4, IM-6는 8.35~8.49 Log CFU/g으로 유의적 차이가 없었다. 타락 아이스크림류 관능적 평가에서 먼저 강도평가에서 우유향에서는 IC-6이 4.10으로 가장 높았고, 신맛은 Sherbet이 4.20, IM-2가 4.10으로 평가되었으며, 단맛은 IC-6이 5.05로 가장 높게 평가되었고, 쓴맛은 IC-6이 1.65로 낮게 평가 되었다. 크리미한 정도는 IC-6이 4.60으로 유의적으로 높게 평가되었고, 바디감도 5.05로 가장 높게 평가되었다. 외관, 맛, 풍미, 조직감의 선호도에서 IC-6이 다른 시료에 비해 유의적으로 높게 평가되었고, 전반적인 선호도에서 IC-6이 5.15로 가장 높게 평가되었으며, Sherbet이 3.75, IM-2가 3.05, IM-4가 2.50으로 평가되어 타락을 첨가한 아이스크림류는 유지방 함량이 높은 아이스크림이 가장 좋은 관능 선호도를 나타내었고, 유지방함량이 중간정도인 아이스밀크류에 비해 유지방 함량이 없는 Sherbet의 관능 선호도가 조금 더 높았다.

시선 고정 유도방법이 시야 검사에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Gaze Fixation Induction Method on Visual Field Testing)

  • A visual field tester using a fixation target with a lack of distinctiveness decreases accuracy and usability in visual field testing. The present study is intended to develop various induction methods of gaze fixation for effective visual field testing. Proposed were four new gaze fixation induction methods (color changing dot; alphanumeric characters; flashing black dot; and bulls eye and cross hair, BECH) by considering visual attention factors such as color, meaning, flashing, and shape and the proposed methods were compared with the existing black dot (BD) method in terms of gaze fixation performance and subjective satisfaction by 32 participants in their 20s to 30s. BECH was found most preferred by increasing gaze fixation performance by 4.8% and subjective satisfaction by 0.4 to 2.0 in a 7-point scale compared to BD. BECH can be applied to tests such as visual field testing and macular pigment optical density testing in which gaze fixation is crucial for accuracy and usability.

지렁이를 이용한 바이오디젤과 바이오디젤 유래 Neopentyl Polyol Ester 윤활유 베이스의 독성테스트 (Toxicity Test of Biodiesel and Biodiesel-derived Neopentyl Polyol Ester Lubricant Oil Base Using Earthworm)

  • 바이오디젤과 바이오디젤을 기반으로 생산된 neopentyl polyol ester (NPE)계 윤활유 베이스, 디젤유 윤활유와 석유디젤을 분석대상으로 하여 지렁이 (Eisenia fetida)를 이용한 독성 시험을 수행하였다. OECD 207규격에 근거하여 독성을 분석한 결과 바이오디젤과 NPE계 윤활유 베이스의 반수치사농도 $(LC_{50})$ 값은 각각 2,450과 1,528 mg/kg dry weight of soil로서 두 물질은 독성 이 적은 경독성 (slightly toxic) 물질인 것으로 판명되었다. 디젤유 윤활유와 석유디젤의 경우 반수치사농도 $(LC_{50})$ 값이 각각 500과 603 mg/kg로서 중등독성 (moderately toxic) 물질로 판정되었다.

  • 바이오디젤과 바이오디젤을 기반으로 생산된 neopentyl polyol ester (NPE)계 윤활유 베이스, 디젤유 윤활유와 석유디젤을 분석대상으로 하여 독성을 평가하였다 조류를 이용하여 수용액 상에서 화학물질의 독성시험을 조사하는 OECD 201에 근거하여 Chlorella vulgaris를 96시간 동안 배양하면서 독성시험 분석한 결과, 바이오디젤과 NPE계 윤활유 베이스의 반수저해농도 $(EC_{50})$ 값은 각각 84와 69mg/L로서 두 물질이 독성 이 적은 경독성 (slightly toxic)물질인 것으로 판명되었다. 디젤유 윤활유와 석유디젤의 경우 반수저해농도 $(EC_{50})$ 값이 각각 42와 24 mg/L로서 중등독성 (moderately toxic) 물질로 판정 되었다.

적색과 청색 물질을 사용한 2파장 방식 백색 적층 OLED의 광학 및 전기적 특성 (Optical and Electrical Properties of Two-Wavelength White Tandem Organic Light-Emitting Diodes Using Red and Blue Materials)

  • We studied optical and electrical properties of two-wavelength white tandem organic light-emitting diodes using red and blue materials. White fluorescent OLEDs were fabricated using Alq3 : Rubrene (3 vol.% 5 nm) / SH-1 : BD-2 (3 vol.% 25 nm) as emitting layer (EML). White single fluorescent OLED showed maximum current efficiency of 9.7 cd/A, and tandem fluorescent OLED showed 18.2 cd/A. Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of single and tandem fluorescent OLEDs was (0.385, 0.435), (0.442, 0.473) at $1,000cd/m^2$, respectively. White hybrid OLEDs were fabricated using SH-1 : BD-2 (3 vol.% 10 nm) / CBP : $Ir(mphmq)_2(acac)$ (2 vol.% 20 nm) as EML. White single hybrid OLED showed maximum current efficiency of 7.8 cd/A, and tandem hybrid OLED showed 26.4 cd/A. Maximum current efficiency of tandem hybrid OLED was more twice as high as single OLED. CIE coordinates of single hybrid OLED was (0.315, 0.333), and tandem hybrid OLED was (0.448, 0.363) at $1,000cd/m^2$. CIE coordinates in white tandem OLEDs compared to those for single OLEDs observed red shift. This work reveals that stacked white OLED showed current efficiency improvement and red shifted emission than single OLED.
