  • Three linear strain gauges (KFR-02N-120-C1-23, Kyowa, Japan) were placed around the abutment of implant future and the maximum axial loads on the mandibular implants supporting over dentures were registered in experimental model when the overdenture was removed. The overdenture attachments used in this study were Round bar Hader bar, Dolder bar with and with out spacer. The retention of bar attachment was measured using universal testing machine while being con-trolled by Activating set and Deactivator except in case of the Hader bar. Simultaneously strains were recorded with the strain smart program in strain P-6000 series (Measurement group, Raleigh, USA). The maximum axial load was calculated and compared with each other. The results were as follows: 1. The amount and the timing of the maximum axial loads were different between the right and left implant in all attachment systems. 2. The retention of bar attachment except Hader bar could be adjusted but the controllability was different among the attachment systems. 3. The more the axial load, the higher the retention with Hader bar and Dolder bar without spacer. but the tendency of increase was not shown with round bar and Dolder bar with spacer.

A New Method to Find Bars

  • We have classified barred galaxies for 418 RC3 sample galaxies within z < 0.01 from SDSS DR7 using the visual inspection, ellipse fitting method and Fourier analysis. We found the bar fraction to be ~60%, 43% and 70% for each method and that the ellipse fitting method tends to miss the bar when a large bulge hides the transition from bar to disk in early spirals. We also confirmed that the Fourier analysis cannot distinguish between a bar and spiral arm structure. These systematic difficulties may have produced the long-time controversy about bar fraction dependence on Hubble sequence, mass and color. We designed a new method to fine bars by analyzing the ratio map of bar strength in polar coordinates, which yields the bar fraction of ~27% and ~32% for SAB and SB, respectively. The consistency with visual inspection reaches around 70%, and roughly 90% of visual strong bar are classified as SAB and SB in our classification. Although our method also has a weakness that a large bulge lowers the value of bar strength, the missing bar fraction in early spirals is reduced to the level of ~1/4 compared to the ellipse fitting method. Our method can make up for the demerits of the previous automatic classifications and provide a quantitative bar classification that agrees with visual classification.

  • $Lokap{\bar{a}}las$ are understood as the deities of four directions in Buddhism: $Dhrtar{\bar{a}}stra$ in the East, $Vir{\bar{u}}dhaka$ in the South, $Vir{\bar{u}}p{\bar{a}}ksa$ in the West and $Vai{\acute{s}}ravana$ in the North respectively. Their common name is, therefore, called as the "Four Guardian Kings", whose function is to prevent demonic forces from entering into its sacred world. Although the position of $Lokap{\bar{a}}las$ is to the lowest level in the hierarchy of the minor deities in Buddhism, the cult of $Lokap{\bar{a}}las$ was widely spread and prominent in the countries of Northern Buddhism. It played a significant role in terms of the state-protecting Buddhism, on behalf of it's esoteric and magic power. More than 20 Gateways of the $Lokap{\bar{a}}las$ and $Lokap{\bar{a}}la$ statues were still well preserved in Korea, and they were believed to be constructed after the Japanese attack in 1592. After war, monks had concentrated on restoring ruined temples and building many new Gateways of the Four Guardian Kings over the Korean peninsular. Under such circumstances, even though the $Lokap{\bar{a}}las$ played a significant role as the subject of cult in Korean Buddhism. they might have a small chance to be taught traditional Lama iconography exactly. The purpose of this essay is to examine the relation of orientation of the Gate way of $Lokap{\bar{a}}las$ and allocation of each Kings inside the gate.

  • 이 글은 현전하는 인도 최초의 연극론서인 "나띠야 샤스뜨라"의 규정을 중심으로 인도의 전통연극과 무용에 계승되어 온 신체표현기법인 앙기까 아비나야의 전통성과 정체성을 고찰한다. 이를 위해 마르기와 데시, 나띠야다르미와 로까다르미의 양식구분 개념, 아비나야의 분류, 앙기까 아비나야의 의의와 중요성, 기원과 형성과정, 범주와 종류, 계통성과 지역적 차이를 살펴본다.

플라톤의 공간 문제 (The Problem of Plato's Space)

  • 플라톤은 "티마이오스"에서 자신의 우주론을 개진하면서, 우주제작자 제작의 본(本) 제작의 재료 제작의 장소 같은 핵심 개념들을 다루고 있다. 이 우주는 창조자인 데미우르고스가 영원히 존재하는 이데아를 본(本)으로 삼아, 무질서하고 혼란 가운데 있는 물질들에 도형과 수(數)의 원리에 따라 형태를 부여함으로써 제작된 것이다. 이 과정은 지성(nous)이 필연($anank{\bar{e}}$)을 설득하는 작업이며, 필연의 승복에 의해 양자는 결합하게 되어 우주를 탄생시키게 된다. 그런데 플라톤은 모든 생성물들을 자기 안에 받아들이는 '셋째 종류' 즉 '공간'($ch{\bar{o}}ra$)을 우주생성 이전부터 존재하는 것으로 상정한다. 이것은 '어렵고 분명치 않은 종류'로서 '가장 포착하기 힘든 것'이기 때문에, 이에 관한 논의는 '그럼직한 이야기'($eik{\bar{o}}s logos$)에 그칠 뿐이라고 한다. 따라서 플라톤은 다양한 비유 즉 '수용자', '유모', '어머니', '금', '새김바탕', '향유의 기초제', '공간', '자리' 등을 통해 공간의 성격을 구명하려고 한다. 아리스토텔레스부터 현대의 학자들에 이르기까지 플라톤의 공간($ch{\bar{o}}ra$)에 관한 무수한 해석이 나왔는데, 대체로 세 가지 유형으로 정리할 수 있다. 첫째, 플라톤의 '공간'($ch{\bar{o}}ra$)은 '빈 공간이다.', 둘째, 그의 공간은 아리스토텔레스의 '제1질료'와 유사하다, 셋째, '공간'과 '질료'의 양 측면을 모두 가진다. 만일 '코라'가 '빈 공간' 내지 '허공'(kenon)이라면 결국 무한한 공간이 될 것이다. 이것은 플라톤의 하나뿐인 유한한 우주와 상치된다. 그리고 '코라'는 생성물을 수용하는 것뿐만 아니라 생성에 영양과 힘을 제공한다. 다른 한편, '코라'는 '제1질료'와 유사하지도 않다. '코라'가 데미우르고스의 우주제작 이전에 존재 생성(제작 이전)과 함께 이미 있었으므로, '코라' 자체는 제작의 대상이 아니다. 반면 '제1질료'는 4원소의 구성요소로서 기체(基體)이다. 모든 생성물들을 자기 안에 담고 있는 '자리'로서의 공간성과 '어머니'처럼 생성물들에 영양과 힘을 제공하는 질료성이 공존한다는 해석이다. 플라톤은 여기서 논리적 일관성을 결여하게 된다. 그 이유는 우주의 시작에서 한 축이 되는 '공간'을 논의할 때, '그럼직한 이야기'의 한계를 벗어날 수 없기 때문이다. 플라톤 자신이 명료하게 밝혀내지 못한 '공간' 개념을 무리하게 해명하려는 시도는 또 다른 우(愚)를 범하게 될 것이다.

한국사찰에 현현된 극락정토 - 관무량수경의 의보관을 중심으로 - (Pure Land Represented on the Korean Buddhist Temples - Based on the Amitāyurdhyāna Sūtra -)

  • 본 연구는 신라시대 이래 일반 민중들에게 가장 영향력이 컸던 경전 속의 땅 극락정토가 사찰에 어떠한 모습으로 현현되고 있는지를 밝히기 위한 목적으로 진행되었다. 본 연구에서는 우선 극락정토에 대한 연구동향을 살펴 본 논문의 성격을 분명히 하였으며, 정토사상의 소의경전인 관무량수경에서 설해지고 있는 극락정토의 7가지의 경관상과 그것을 그림으로 표현한 관경변상도의 내용을 현실적으로 해석하였다. 다음으로는 우리나라 사찰 가운데에서 정토사상에 근거하여 지어진 정토계(미타계) 사찰에서 극락정토의 수승한 경관이 어떻게 현현되었는지를 규명하는 단계로 진행되었다. 연구의 결과, 한국의 정토계 사찰에서는 관무량수경에서 관한 극락정토의 수승한 경관을 실제 사찰의 경관으로 현현하고 있음을 발견할 수 있었다. 그러나 연구대상사찰에서 나타나는 이러한 경관요소나 경관성은 한국의 사찰에서 흔히 나타나는 것일 수도 있어서 관무량수경의 내용이 정토계 사찰에서만 나타나는 특징적인 현상으로 보기는 어려웠다. 그렇지만 부석사와 용연사에서 발견되는 서방에 대한 의미 부여, 여러 사찰에서 나타나는 계류에 놓인 다리의 명칭, 석단이나 계단에 적용된 법수, 누각의 명칭 등은 관무량수경의 내용을 현실적으로 보여주는 정토계 사찰이 가지는 독특한 현상으로 파악되었다. 본 연구의 결과에서 특별히 주목하고자 하는 것은 관무량수경이나 관경변상도에서 적극적으로 강조되고 있고, 또한 빠짐없이 표현되고 있는 연지는 그 사례를 연구대상사찰에서 찾아보기 어려워, 지금까지 정토계 사찰에서 연지가 예외 없이 조성되었을 것이라는 생각은 수정되어야 한다는 것으로 이에 대한 연구는 앞으로 지속되어야 할 것으로 본다.

'아유르베다'($\bar{A}yurveda$)의 의경(醫經)에 관한 연구 (A Study of The Medical Classics in the '$\bar{A}yurveda$')

  • Through a simple study of the medical classics in the '$\bar{A}yurveda$', we have summarized them as follows. 1) Traditional Indian medicine started in the Ganges river area at about 1500 B. C. E. and traces of medical science can be found in the "Rigveda" and "Atharvaveda". 2) The "Charaka" and "$Su\acute{s}hruta$(妙聞集)", ancient texts from India, are not the work of one person, but the result of the work and errors of different doctors and philosophers. Due to the lack of historical records, the time of Charaka or $Su\acute{s}hruta$(妙聞)s' lives are not exactly known. So the completion of the "Charaka" is estimated at 1st${\sim}$2nd century C. E. in northwestern India, and the "$Su\acute{s}hruta$" is estimated to have been completed in 3rd${\sim}$4th century C. E. in central India. Also, the "Charaka" contains details on internal medicine, while the "$Su\acute{s}hruta$" contains more details on surgery by comparison. 3) '$V\bar{a}gbhata$', one of the revered Vriddha Trayi(triad of the ancients, 三醫聖) of the '$\bar{A}yurveda$', lived and worked in about the 7th century and wrote the "$A\d{s}\d{t}\bar{a}nga$ $A\d{s}\d{t}\bar{a}nga$ $h\d{r}daya$ $sa\d{m}hit\bar{a}$ $samhit\bar{a}$(八支集)" and "$A\d{s}\d{t}\bar{a}nga$ Sangraha $samhit\bar{a}$(八心集)", where he tried to compromise and unify the "Charaka" and "$Su\acute{s}hruta$". The "$A\d{s}\d{t}\bar{a}nga$ Sangraha $samhit\bar{a}$" was translated into Tibetan and Arabic at about the 8th${\sim}$9th century, and if we generalize the medicinal plants recorded in each the "Charaka", "$Su\acute{s}hruta$" and the "$A\d{s}\d{t}\bar{a}nga$ Sangraha $samhit\bar{a}$", there are 240, 370, 240 types each. 4) The 'Madhava' focused on one of the subjects of Indian medicine, '$Nid\bar{a}na$' ie meaning "the cause of diseases(病因論)", and in one of the copies found by Bower in 4th century C. E. we can see that it uses prescriptions from the "BuHaLaJi(布哈拉集)", "Charaka", "$Su\acute{s}hruta$". 5) According to the "Charaka", there were 8 branches of ancient medicine in India : treatment of the body(kayacikitsa), special surgery(salakya), removal of alien substances(salyapahartka), treatment of poison or mis-combined medicines(visagaravairodhikaprasamana), the study of ghosts(bhutavidya), pediatrics(kaumarabhrtya), perennial youth and long life(rasayana), and the strengthening of the essence of the body(vajikarana). 6) The '$\bar{A}yurveda$', which originated from ancient experience, was recorded in Sanskrit, which was a theorization of knowledge, and also was written in verses to make memorizing easy, and made medicine the exclusive possession of the Brahmin. The first annotations were 1060 for the "Charaka", 1200 for the "$Su\acute{s}hruta$", 1150 for the "$A\d{s}\d{t}\bar{a}nga$ Sangraha $samhit\bar{a}$", and 1100 for the "$Nid\bar{a}na$", The use of various mineral medicines in the "Charaka" or the use of mercury as internal medicine in the "$A\d{s}\d{t}\bar{a}nga$ Sangraha $samhit\bar{a}$", and the palpation of the pulse for diagnosing in the '$\bar{A}yurveda$' and 'XiZhang(西藏)' medicine are similar to TCM's pulse diagnostics. The coexistence with Arabian 'Unani' medicine, compromise with western medicine and the reactionism trend restored the '$\bar{A}yurveda$' today. 7) The "Charaka" is a book inclined to internal medicine that investigates the origin of human disease which used the dualism of the 'Samkhya', the natural philosophy of the 'Vaisesika' and the logic of the 'Nyaya' in medical theories, and its structure has 16 syllables per line, 2 lines per poem and is recorded in poetry and prose. Also, the "Charaka" can be summarized into the introduction, cause, judgement, body, sensory organs, treatment, pharmaceuticals, and end, and can be seen as a work that strongly reflects the moral code of Brahmin and Aryans. 8) In extracting bloody pus, the "Charaka" introduces a 'sharp tool' bloodletting treatment, while the "$Su\scute{s}hruta$" introduces many surgical methods such as the use of gourd dippers, horns, sucking the blood with leeches. Also the "$Su\acute{s}hruta$" has 19 chapters specializing in ophthalmology, and shows 76 types of eye diseases and their treatments. 9) Since anatomy did not develop in Indian medicine, the inner structure of the human body was not well known. The only exception is 'GuXiangXue(骨相學)' which developed from 'Atharvaveda' times and the "$A\d{s}\d{t}\bar{a}nga$ Sangraha $samhit\bar{a}$". In the "$A\d{s}\d{t}\bar{a}nga$ Sangraha $samhit\bar{a}$"'s 'ShenTiLun(身體論)' there is a thorough listing of the development of a child from pregnancy to birth. The '$\bar{A}yurveda$' is not just an ancient traditional medical system but is being called alternative medicine in the west because of its ability to supplement western medicine and, as its effects are being proved scientifically it is gaining attention worldwide. We would like to say that what we have researched is just a small fragment and a limited view, and would like to correct and supplement any insufficient parts through more research of new records.

혈전증(血栓症)과 타박성(打撲性) 충혈(充血) 및 고지혈증(高脂血症)에 순기도담탕(順氣導痰湯) 및 화어탕(化瘀湯)이 미치는 영향(影響) (A Study of the influence of both of Shùnqìdǎotántāng and Huàyūtāng on thrombosis, contusion-hyperemia, and hyperlipidemia)

  • To see both $Sh{\grave{u}}nq{\grave{i}}daot{\acute{a}}nt{\bar{a}}ng$(dissipate phlegm and promote vital energy circulation) and $Hu{\grave{a}}y{\bar{u}}t{\bar{a}}ng$(blood circulation and disperse blood stasis) influencing on thrombosis, contusion-hyperemia, and hyperlipidemia, at first we measured the density of FDP, the quantity of fibrinogen, prothrombin time, and the number of platelet of rat taken thrombosis by endotoxin. Secondly we measured the increase-rate of "paw swelling", the number of platelet, the quantity of fibrinogen, and prothrombin time of rat taken contusion-hyperemia. And then we measured the quantity of total cholesterol in serum and of H.D.L-cholesterol and of triglyceride and of phospholipid and of ${\beta}-lipoprotein$, its weight, and the variation of the quantity of electrolyte of rat taken hyperlipidemia by the oral-injection of choleserol. As a result, we can conclude as follows : 1. Out of the test of thrombosis, we can recognize not only the noticeable increae of the number of platelet and the quantity of fibrinogen, but also the noticeable decrease of prothrombin time and the density of FDP in case of $Sh{\grave{u}}nq{\grave{i}}daot{\acute{a}}nt{\bar{a}}ng$-injected rat and $Hu{\grave{a}}y{\bar{u}}t{\bar{a}}ng$-injected rat. 2. Out of the test of contusion-hyperemia, we can recognize not only the noticeable increase of the number of platelet and the quantity of fibrinogen, but also the noticeable decrease of prothrombin time and "increase-rate of paw swelling" in case of $Sh{\grave{u}}nq{\grave{i}}daot{\acute{a}}nt{\bar{a}}ng$-injected rat and $Hu{\grave{a}}y{\bar{u}}t{\bar{a}}ng$-injected rat. 3. Out of the test of hyperlipidemia, at first we can recognize that test rat's weight increased as close as that of normal rat. And we can recognize the noticeable decrease of the triglyceride and phospholipid and ${\beta}-lipoprotein$." Also, in case of the variation of electrolyte we can recognize the decrease of calcium and potassium in $Sh{\grave{u}}nq{\grave{i}}daot{\acute{a}}nt{\bar{a}}ng$-injected rat, and of sodium and magnesium in $Hu{\grave{a}}y{\bar{u}}t{\bar{a}}ng$-injected rat. Thus, as the above-mentioned, in covering thrombosis, contusion-hypermia, and hyperlipidemia, the effect of $Sh{\grave{u}}nq{\grave{i}}daot{\acute{a}}nt{\bar{a}}ng$ and $Hu{\grave{a}}y{\bar{u}}t{\bar{a}}ng$ can be recognized. Granting that $Hu{\grave{a}}y{\bar{u}}t{\bar{a}}ng$ reveals its effectiveness in thrombosis and contusion-hyperemia, and $Sh{\grave{u}}nq{\grave{i}}daot{\acute{a}}nt{\bar{a}}ng$ in hyperlipidemia, it can be inferred that contusion-hyperemia is like "model of blood stasis form" as thrombosis and hyperlipidemia "phlegm-retention diseases form", and both phlegm-retention and blood stasis have correlation each other.

임플랜트지지 overdenture용 clip의 유지력 변화에 관한 연구 (A STUDY ON THE CHANGES IN RETENTION OF CLIPS USED TO RETAIN IMPLANT-SUPPORTED OVERDENTURE)

  • Implant-supported overdenture is known as a useful appliance, instead of using the conventional complete denture, for better retention and stability. In this study 4 types of materials such as, gold bar/plastic clip(group AuP), gold bar/metal clip(group AuM), palladium bar/plastic clip(group PdP), and palladium bar/metal clip (group PdM) were used to evaluate the retention forces according the type of clips and alloys used for bar fabrication, in the Hader bar system. Repeated insertions and removals of overdenture were conducted in each group. and the retention forces were measured and compared the data of each group according to the number of insertion and removal. The obtained results were as follows, 1. In the comparison of retention forces according to type of bar-clip, retention was increased in the order of group AuM, PdM, PdP AuP. and the retention force of group AuM was significantly increased compared with those of others (p<0.05). 2. In the comparison of retention forces according to the number of insertion, only group PdP showed significant decrease in retention(p<0.05). 3. In the comparison of retention forces according to the type of bar and clip. there was no significant difference in the type of bar, but the retention of plastic clip was significantly higher than that of metal clip when Au bar was used(p<0.05). 4. In the observation of the bar surface, group AuM using Au bar and metal clip showed the most scratches among bar groups.

관리한계 설정에 따른 ${\bar{X}}-S^2$ 관리도의 성능 (Performance of the combined ${\bar{X}}-S^2$ chart according to determining individual control limits)

  • ${\bar{X}}-S^2$ 관리도는 공정 평균과 산포의 변화를 동시에 탐지하는 전통적인 관리도들 중 하나이다. 일반적으로 사용하는 ${\bar{X}}-S^2$ 관리도의 설계 방법은 병행하는 관리도의 오경보율은 주어진 값을 만족하면서 각 관리도는 동일한 개별적인 오경보율을 갖도록 설정하는 것이다. 이 논문에서는 각 관리도의 개별 오경보율을 다르게 설정하고 이것이 ${\bar{X}}-S^2$ 관리도의 성능에 어떠한 영향을 주는지 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 ${\bar{X}}$ 관리도의 오경보율을 S2 관리도의 오경보율에 γ배한 경우를 고려하였고, γ값에 따른 ${\bar{X}}-S^2$ 관리도 성능을 비교하였다. 관리도의 성능을 평가하는 측도로는 특정한 변화에 대한 성능을 판단하는 경우 이상상태에서의 평균런길이를 사용하였고, 전반적인 성능을 판단하는 경우 RMI(relative mean index)를 사용하였다.
