  • With the development of smart grid technologies, a user can use the secure and reliable power services in smart gird environments. However, the users are not secure against various potential attacks because the smart gird services are provided through the public channel. Therefore, a secure and lightweight authentication and key agreement scheme has become a very important security issue in smart grid in order to guarantee user's privacy. In 2019, Zhang et al. proposed a lightweight authentication scheme for smart gird communications. In this paper, we demonstrate that Zhang et al.'s scheme is vulnerable to impersonation and session key disclosure attacks, and then we propose a secure authentication and key agreement scheme for smart grid environments without tamper-resistant devices. Moreover, we perform the informal security and the BAN logic analysis to prove that our scheme is secure various attacks and provides secure mutual authentication, respectively. We also perform the performance analysis compared with related schemes. Therefore, the proposed scheme is efficiently applicable to practical smart gird environments.

  • Ubiquitous healthcare is a recent technology and a new methodology of medical diagnosis and medical care. However, in order for u-Healthcare service to become a general technology, there are some technological barriers(mobility, minimization, battery consumption etc) to overcome. In this paper, we developed a spectrum analysis system for smart phones. The results showed that compared to other solutions, our's were not only small in size but also almost the same in performance(reproducibility comparison experiments, Spectrum, Calibration Curve and Prediction). Therefore, the proposed solution is expected to be widely used in u-Health area.

  • Recently, many researches have been conducted on the aviation industry to replace the wire harness cable between the avionics of the aircraft with the wireless network. In this paper, we present an Event-Based Simulator for Wireless Avionics Intra-Communications (ES-WAIC) that can verify core technologies of wireless networks and efficiently integrate different layers of the network. ES-WAIC is developed to enhance the readability between the real time control application developers of the higher layer and the network layer developers. Specifically, the practical implement relies on an event-based programming concept to increase portability and compatibility that can be applied to the realistic low-power wireless embedded networks. ES-WAIC implements the overall system layers including the wireless channel modeling of the 4.4GHz band, the physical layer, the medium access control, the network, and the application layer of wireless avionics intra-communications.

  • We propose a pilot hopping scheme that improves the limited system capacity due to pilot contamination in multi-cell environment with large-scale antenna arrays at a base station, assuming the infinite number of antennas. In the conventional fixed pilot scheme, each user obtains the same signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) over a long period of time. Therefore, a user with strong interference has continuously low SIR which degrades its service quality. In the proposed pilot hopping scheme, different pilot signals are used for each time slot, and different amounts of interference are received every time. When such a pilot hopping technique is applied, the SIR fluctuates at every time slot. When the Hybrid Automatic Repeat & reQuest (HARQ) technique is applied in such a channel, the outage probability and transmission rate are improved. We show that there is the performance gain of the proposed scheme over the conventional scheme through computer simulations.

  • In this paper, we analyze the effect of mobility on the performance of full-duplex radio. For this, we implement a full-duplex radio prototype using a software-defined radio that is powered by a battery and can thus function in mobile environments. In addition, we compare the performance of self-interference cancellation schemes for two cases considering multi-antenna based full duplex radio and circulator based full duplex radio, respectively. Finally, we show a negative effect of mobility on the self-interference cancellation performance of the full-duplex radio system, and analyze the effect of the update period of the self-interference cancellation filter on the performance. In particular, when the update period is reduced by about 1000 times, the power of self-interference is reduced by 5.7dB for circulator-based full-duplex radio and 3.1dB for both antenna-based full-duplex radio.
