Microstructural Characterization of Hot Extruded Al-Zn-Mg-Cu Alloys Containing Sc (Sc을 첨가한 Al-Zn-Mg-Cu 합금 압출재의 열처리에 따른 미세구조 변화)

  • The microstructural changes of Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy containing Sc during hot extrusion and post heat treatment were investigated. Two kinds of Al-Sc alloys with different alloying elements (B1, B2) were hot extruded to make T-shape bars at extrusion temperature of $380^{\circ}C$, then the bars were solution treated at $480^{\circ}C$ for 2hrs followed by artificial aging at $120^{\circ}C$ for 24hrs. The interior microstructure of as extruded bar consisted of elongated grains, however, fine equiaxed grains were also observed around surface. The microstructural gradient suggested that different restoration process could proceed during the hot extrusion. For B1 and B2, different grain growth behaviors were found around the surface during the post heat treatment. Rapid grain growth behavior was observed for B1 around the surface, however, it was not observed for B2. Orientation pinning, which was related with the evolution of preferred orientation, and precipitation were thought to be responsible for the rapid grain growth.

광진단을 이용한 전자 에너지 분포 함수 변화 감지 알고리즘 개발

  • 원자의 여기 및 천이에 의한 플라즈마에서의 빛 방출은 일차적으로 여기를 위한 특정 문턱값 이상의 에너지 공급이 전제 된다. 진공 플라즈마에서 대부분의 에너지 전달 과정은 전자와의 물리적 충돌에 의해 일어나므로 충돌 여기의 결과 발생한 광신호 세기는 전자 에너지 분포에 대한 정보를 내포하고 있다. 전자는 입자들 간의 에너지 전달 매개가 되는 동시에 플라즈마 구성 입자 중 가장 가벼워 빠르게 주변 환경 변화에 응답하여 열평형을 이루므로 EEDF는 플라즈마의 미세한 변동까지도 보여줄 수 있는 인자가 된다. 플라즈마의 열평형 이동에 관한 정보를 광신호로부터 EEDF의 형태로 추출해내기 위해 BEB (Binary - Encounter - Bethe) 모델을 근거로 충돌 반응 단면적을 함수로 나타내어 신호를 분석하였다. EEDF의 꼴을 $f(E)=AEexp(-E^b)$의 임의의 형태로 두고 아르곤의 427nm, 763nm 두 빛의 세기 비를 BEB 모델을 적용하여 전개한 결과 b factor 의 값을 구할 수 있었다. b factor 가 1인 경우는 Maxwellian, 2인 경우는 압력이 높은 조건에서 잦은 충돌에 의한 에너지 손실 때문에 고에너지 전자군이 현격하게 감소된 Druyvesteyn 분포를 의미하므로 광신호에 모델을 적용하여 얻은 b factor의 변화는 EEDF의 형태 자체의 변화가 감지되었음을 보여준다. 실제로 13.56MHz - 1kW ICP 장치에서 아르곤 플라즈마를 발생시켰을 때, 압력이 낮아 Maxwellian 분포가 예상되는 10mTorr 조건에서는 b=1.13, Druyvesteyn 분포에 가까워지는 100mTorr 조건에서는 b=1.502 로 관측되었다.

Purification of Anti-HLA Antibodies in Human Placenta Sera (사람 태반혈청내의 항HLA항체 정제)

  • To determine the existence of anti-HLA antibodies finally in 220 human placental extracts to be proved negative antiserum by previous anti-HLA A,B,C antibody screening procedure, the present study was performed by fractionation of immunoglobulins using saturated ammonium sulfate and by simple batch method on DEAE cellulose. Thereafter using known 150 T-lymphocyte panels, complement-dependent microlymphocytotoxicity test was performed to observe the existence of anti-HLA antibodies and the degree of the antibody response of the concentrates. The following results were obtained: 1. Of total 141 placental sera concentrated 45 cases(31.9%) were showed significant anti-HLA A,B,C antibody response after concentration(Excellent, 19(13.5%), Good, 3(2.1%), Weak, 23(16.3%)). 2. Anti-HLA specificities of placental sera obtained after concentration were A2, A24, B13, B27, B44, B51, CN1, C7. 3. A new type C new-1 anti-HLA antibody that is only expressed in Korean people, was obtained. 4. 79 placental sera purrified by simple batch method using DEAE cellulose were showed negative anti-HLA antibody responses.

A 12-b Asynchronous SAR Type ADC for Bio Signal Detection

  • This paper describes a low power asynchronous successive approximation register (SAR) type 12b analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for biomedical applications in a 0.35 ${\mu}m$ CMOS technology. The digital-to-analog converter (DAC) uses a capacitive split-arrays consisting of 6-b main array, an attenuation capacitor C and a 5-b sub array for low power consumption and small die area. Moreover, splitting the MSB capacitor into sub-capacitors and an asynchronous SAR reduce power consumption. The measurement results show that the proposed ADC achieved the SNDR of 68.32 dB, the SFDR of 79 dB, and the ENOB (effective number of bits) of 11.05 bits. The measured INL and DNL were 1.9LSB and 1.5LSB, respectively. The power consumption including all the digital circuits is 6.7 ${\mu}W$ at the sampling frequency of 100 KHz under 3.3 V supply voltage and the FoM (figure of merit) is 49 fJ/conversion-step.

  • In this paper, we reported on a high performance MMIC star mixer for millimeter-wave applications. The star mixer was fabricated using drain-source-connected pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistor (PHEMT) diodes considering the PHEMT MMIC full process on 2 mil thick GaAs substrate. The average conversion loss of 13 dB was measured in the RF frequency range of 81 GHz to 86 GHz at LO frequency of 75 GHz with LO power of 10 dBm. The RF-LO isolation characteristics are greater than 30 dB and the input 1-dB compression are approximately 4 dBm. The total chip size is 0.8 mm ${\times}$ 0.8 mm.

A Study of Beam Tilted Antenna by Aperture Coupled Microstrip Array (개구 급전 마이크로스트립 배열에 의한 빔 틸팅 안테나에 관한 연구)

  • We proposed the beam tilted antenna by aperture coupled microstrip array, found out the values of design parameters by using Ensemble 5.1 of Ansoft Co., and analysed the performance of fabricated antenna. In order to point to the fixed satellite on the nothern hemisphere, 3 dB beamwidth of this antenna is 25$^{\circ}C$ to 65$^{\circ}C$. Operation bandwidth is 2.51GHz to 2.59GHz. The structure of this antenna is composed by 3 types of squared patches; reflector, driver, and director. The maximum antenna gain is 6.2dB at 2.56GHz and elevation angle of 42$^{\circ}C$. Front-to-Back ratio is more than 13dB at the same condition.

Effect of Temperature on Color and Color-Preference of Industry -Produced Kochujang during Storage (저장 온도가 공장산 고추장의 변색 및 기호도에 미치는 영향)

  • changes in HMF content, capsanthin content, Hunter tirstimulus values, color-preference, and pruchasing intent were investigated during storage of industry-produced kochujang packed with polyethylene and nylon complex film at 13, 27 and 37$^{\circ}C$. HMF content, which was very low at initial , did not showed significant increase during storage at 13$^{\circ}C$ for 180 days, but the accumulation of HMF was accelerated by higher temperature. Capsanthin content decreased more rapidly at higher temperature . L values decreased up to 60 days of storage and the storage temperature had little influence on the rate . But, after 60 days, L value decreased more slowly at 13 than at 27 and 37$^{\circ}C$ , a and b values showed linear decrease at 37$^{\circ}C$, but increase in a and b values at 13 and 27 $^{\circ}C$ during early storage was followed by decrease. ΔE decreased more rapidly at higher temperature . Color-preference and purchasing-intent for kochujang decreased during storage at 27 and 37 $^{\circ}C$, but did not show significant changes during storage at 13 $^{\circ}C$ for 180 days. L, and ΔE values of kochujang stored at 37 and 27Δ showed positive correlation with color-preference, but Hunter tristimulus values of Kochujang stored at 13$^{\circ}C$ did not show not any significant correlation with color preference.

  • Diesel emission control is being addressed worldwide to help preserve the global environment. This paper mainly deals with the effects of oxidation catalysts to reduce emissions from the automotive heavy-duty diesel engine. Two types of the oxidation catalyst with different kinds of precious material were used. An 11 litter displacement diesel engine with turbocharger was operated to evaluate DOC with various engine speed, load conditions under D-13 mode cycle. We could propose the detail emission data of an automotive heavy-duty diesel engine and the characteristics of the conversion efficiency of the DOC under the D-13 mode. It was found that the mean conversion efficiencies of CO and THC were 49.7% and 61% under the D-13 mode test, respectively.

13.56 MHz High Efficiency Class E Power Amplifier with Low Drain Voltage (낮은 드레인 전압을 가지는 13.56 MHz 고효율 Class E 전력증폭기)

  • In this paper, we design a high efficiency class E power amplifier operating at low drain bias voltage for wireless power transfers. A 13.56 MHz power amplifier is designed at drain bias voltage of 12.5 V using Si MOSFET with the breakdown voltage of 40 V. High quality-factor solenoidal inductor is designed and fabricated for use in output matching circuit to improve output power and efficiency. Input matching circuit simply consists of resistor and inductor to reduce the circuit area and improve the stability. The fabricated power amplifier shows the measured output power of 38.6 dBm with the gain of 16.6 dB and power added efficiency of 89.3 % at 13.56 MHz.

A 4-port MIMO Antenna for LTE Femtocell using Cross Decoupler (Cross Decoupler를 이용한 LTE 펨토셀용 4-port MIMO 안테나)

  • This paper describes the design, fabrication, and measurement of a 4-port femtocell MIMO antenna for LTE 700MHz(Band12, 13, 14, 17, 28, 44) applications. Based on microstrip patch antenna, an impedance matching is achieved by short pin. In order to obtain sufficient bandwidth and isolation between antenna elements in a limited dimension, a cross decoupler is used. With a Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR)${\leq}2$, the measured result of the fabricated antenna provides 105MHz(0.698~0.803MHZ) bandwidth and shows the gain with 1.97dBi and isolation above 13dB. As one of the key parameters for MIMO performance evaluation, correlation coefficient of MIMO is achieved within 0.2.
