An inverse heat conduction problem(IHCP) arises when unknown heat fluxes and whole temperature field are to be found with temperature measurements of a few points. In this paper, observers are proposed as solution algorithm for the IHCP. A 1-dimensional heat transfer problem is modeled with modal analysis and state space equations. Position of the heat source is estimated through test heat inputs and the autocorrelation among a few of temperature data. The modified Bass-Gura method is used to design a state observer to estimate the intensity of heat source and the whole temperature field of a 1-dimensional body. To verify the reliability of this estimator, analytic solutions obtained from the proposed method are compared.

In this paper, a performance analysis of waveguide broad-wall slot array antenna for millimeter-wave seeker in Ka-band was performed as using near-field measurement. The measurement of slot array antenna was conducted in both far-field and near-field. And the validation of near-field test in millimeter band was confirmed. It was confirmed that the beam pattern characteristics including beam width and side lobe level of the slot array antenna that performed the verification were the same. Differenced in the side lobe level of azimuth and elevation beam pattern were verified to be less than 1dB. Additionally, the new antenna aperture distribution was extracted as using back-projection method modifying the near-field data and then introduced the method conducting performance analysis of array antenna.
The galactic magnetic field (GMF) and the intergalactic magnetic field (IGMF) affect the propagation of ultra-high energy cosmic rays (UHECRs) from the source to us. Here we examine the influences of the GMF/IGFM and the dependence of their sky distribution on galactic latitude, b. We analyze the correlation between the arrival direction (AD) of UHECRs observed by the Pierre Auger Observatory and the large-scale structure of the universe in regions of sky divided by b. Specifically, we compare the AD distribution of observed UHECRs to that of mock UHECRs generated from a source model constructed with active galactic nuclei. Our source model has the smearing angle as a free parameter that reflects the deflection angle of UHECRs from the source. The results show that larger smearing angles are required for the observed distribution of UHECRs in lower galactic latitude regions. We obtain, for instance, a $1{\sigma}$ credible interval for smearing angle of $0^{\circ}{\leq}{\theta}_s{\leq}72^{\circ}$ at high galactic latitudes, $60^{\circ}$ < $\left|{b}\right|{\leq}90^{\circ}$, and of $75^{\circ}{\leq}{\theta}_s{\leq}180^{\circ}$, $-30^{\circ}{\leq}b{\leq}30^{\circ}$, at low galactic latitudes, respectively. The results show that the influence of the GMF is stronger than that of the IGMF. In addition, we can estimate the strength of GMFs by these values; if we assume that UHECRs would have heavier nuclei, the estimated strengths of GMF are consistent with the observational value of a few ${\mu}G$. More data from the future experiments may make UHECR astronomy possible.
The spatial distribution of electromagnetic fields in the human body can be adjusted by using high dielectric materials. This method has a complementary compared to other methods. However, it can be used as a powerful dielectric shimming tool in certain applications. It can be manufactured in a geometrically free shape and a pad manufactured according to the purpose can be applied without any change of the system. Especially in ultrahigh magnetic field (UHF) MRI, the clinical high dielectric pad used to increase the intensity of the transmit (B1+) and receive (B1-) fields, which has low sensitivity due to the high operating frequency, has great potential. In addition, there are few studies applied to UHF MRI. Therefore, in this study, a high dielectric material pad made of calcium titanate suspension was developed in the laboratory. And the signal increase of clinically useful images was confirmed in various protocols of UHF 7T MRI.
We have measured the ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) signal in as deposited and $400^{\circ}C$ annealed CoFeB/MgO thin film to investigate the annealing effect on magnetic anisotropies and FMR linewidth (${\Delta}H_{PP}$). The uniaxial anisotropy field ($H_{K1}$) was only observed in the as deposited sample. Whereas, in the $400^{\circ}C$ annealed sample, the biaxial anisotropy field ($H_{K2}$) was additionally observed in accompany with uniaxial anisotropy field ($H_{K1}$). The appearance of biaxial anisotropy fields was originated from the crystalline growth of bcc CoFeB(001) from the MgO(001) interface and by the B diffusion during thermal annealing. Also, the ${\Delta}H_{PP}$ of $400^{\circ}C$ annealed sample was increased compared with that of as deposited sample, which was due to the broad distribution of the magnetization axis by the biaxial anisotropy.

In this paper, a shaped small-size ADE(Axially Displaced Ellipse) reflector antenna of 30 cm in diameter operating from 37 to 40 GHz was designed. The experimental antenna was manufactured, and the radiation characteristics evaluated. In the procedure of antenna design, aperture field distribution was assumed to uniform + parabolic distribution. And the variations of beam width, aperture efficiency, and sidelobe level as functions of aperture field distributions were investigated, and these results presented to be used in antenna design. The measured gain and sidelobe level of experimental antenna were found 39.9 dBi(efficiency : 61.9%) and -18.8 dB for 40 GHz. These values show good agreement in design goal of efficiency more than 60% and sidelobe level less than -20 dB.

This paper presents an electric field distribution in a reverberation chamber using cylindrical diffuser. The characteristics of electric field distributions are compared with QRD(Quadratic Residue Diffuser) and cylindrical diffuser for $1{\sim}3$ GHz frequency band. The FDTD(Finite-Difference Time-Domain) method is used to analyze the field characteristics, and the field uniformity. At 2 GHz, the standard deviation and the tolerance of test volume in the reverberation chamber are improved by 0.11 dB, 0.43 dB for the case of cylindrical diffuser. The field strength is increased by 43.2 dBmV/m vs QRD's of 36.6 dBmV/m. Comparing with QRD's, the characteristic of polarization is also improved. These results show that reverberation chamber using cylindrical diffuser can be used alternative facility for measurement of electromagnetic interference and immunity.

The temperature dependence of the effective magnetic anisotropy constant K(T) of ferrite nanoparticles is obtained based on the measurements of SQUID magnetometry. For this end, a very simple but intuitive and direct method for determining the temperature dependence of anisotropy constant K(T) in nanoparticles is introduced in this study. The anisotropy constant at a given temperature is determined by associating the particle size distribution f(r) with the anisotropy energy barrier distribution $f_A(T)$. In order to estimate the particle size distribution f(r), the first quadrant part of the hysteresis loop is fitted to the classical Langevin function weight-averaged with the log?normal distribution, slightly modified from the original Chantrell's distribution function. In order to get an anisotropy energy barrier distribution $f_A(T)$, the temperature dependence of magnetization decay $M_{TD}$ of the sample is measured. For this measurement, the sample is cooled from room temperature to 5 K in a magnetic field of 100 G. Then the applied field is turned off and the remanent magnetization is measured on stepwise increasing the temperature. And the energy barrier distribution $f_A(T)$ is obtained by differentiating the magnetization decay curve at any temperature. It decreases with increasing temperature and finally vanishes when all the particles in the sample are unblocked. As a next step, a relation between r and $T_B$ is determined from the particle size distribution f(r) and the anisotropy energy barrier distribution $f_A(T)$. Under the simple assumption that the superparamagnetic fraction of cumulative area in particle size distribution at a temperature is equal to the fraction of anisotropy energy barrier overcome at that temperature in the anisotropy energy barrier distribution, we can get a relation between r and $T_B$, from which the temperature dependence of the magnetic anisotropy constant was determined, as is represented in the inset of Fig. 1. Substituting the values of r and $T_B$ into the $N{\acute{e}}el$-Arrhenius equation with the attempt time fixed to $10^{-9}s$ and measuring time being 100 s which is suitable for conventional magnetic measurement, the anisotropy constant K(T) is estimated as a function of temperature (Fig. 1). As an example, the resultant effective magnetic anisotropy constant K(T) of manganese ferrite decreases with increasing temperature from $8.5{\times}10^4J/m^3$ at 5 K to $0.35{\times}10^4J/m^3$ at 125 K. The reported value for K in the literatures is $0.25{\times}10^4J/m^3$. The anisotropy constant at low temperature region is far more than one order of magnitude larger than that at 125 K, indicative of the effects of inter?particle interaction, which is more pronounced for smaller particles.
An externally applied magnetic field during annealing the $Nd_{2}Fe_{14}B/Fe_{3}B$ based spring magnet was found to enhance the exchange coupling between the hard and soft magnetic grains. More than 30 % increase in remanence values for melt-spun $Nd_{4}Fe_{73.5}Co_{3}(Hf_{1-x}-Ga_{x})B_{18.5}$(x=0, 0.5, 1.0) alloys was resulted from uniform distribution of $Fe_{3}B$, $\alpha$-Fe as well as $(Nd_{2}Fe_{14}B)$, and also from reduced grain size of those phases by 20 %. The result also showed that there is an optimum grain size exhibiting a high coercivity value which will be discussed in terms of previously simulated exchange coupling parameter.
In this paper, a new two dimensional (2D) analytical modeling and simulation for a Dual Material Double Gate tunnel field effect transistor (DMDG TFET) is proposed. The Parabolic approximation technique is used to solve the 2-D Poisson equation with suitable boundary conditions and analytical expressions for surface potential and electric field are derived. This electric field distribution is further used to calculate the tunnelling generation rate and thus we numerically extract the tunnelling current. The results show a significant improvement in on-current characteristics while short channel effects are greatly reduced. Effectiveness of the proposed model has been confirmed by comparing the analytical results with the TCAD simulation results.
