Purpose: The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and feasibility of four-field box whole brain radiotherapy (FB-WBRT) with tilting baseplate by comparing bilateral WBRT (B-WBRT). Methods and Materials: Between March 2016 and September 2018, 20 patients with brain metastases underwent WBRT using the four-field box technique. WBRT is performed with a dose of 30 Gy in 10 fractions daily. Two computed tomography simulations per person were performed. One was in the traditional supine position for B-WBRT and the other by applying the tilting acrylic supine baseplate to elevate the head by 40° for FB-WBRT. The B-WBRT used the field-in-field technique, which is the most commonly used method in our institution. The FB-WBRT comprised anterior, posterior, and bilateral beams. A wedge was applied in anterior and posterior fields to compensate for skull convexity. Results: The average of Dmean of both parotid glands was 10.2 Gy (range, 3.8 to 17.8 Gy) in B-WBRT and 5.4 Gy (range, 2.0 to 11.7 Gy) in FB-WBRT (p < 0.05). Compared to B-WBRT, FB-WBRT reduced the mean dose of the right and left parotid glands from 10.1 Gy to 4.9 Gy and from 10.4 Gy to 5.8 Gy, respectively (p < 0.05). Further, V5, V10, V15, V20, and V25 for the parotid gland decreased significantly in FB-WBRT (p < 0.05). The Dmax and Dmean of lens decreased according to the dose-volume histogram. Conclusion: Compared to B-WBRT, FB-WBRT with a tilting baseplate is a simple and effective method that takes feature of noncoplanar beam to protect the parotid gland.
This study was carried out to examine the effect of cattle manure and chemical fertilizer application on productivity and nutritive value of silage corn in the reclaimed paddy field of Sukmoon at Dangjin Province in Korea. The cultivars of silage corn used in this experiment were Kwangpyungok and Pioneer (P32B33). The fertilizer was applied according to recommended dose of application. The reclaimed paddy field of Sukmoon was created for farming in 1985 and approximately 5 to 10 years ago rice was cultivated in full-scale. Recently, reclaimed paddy field of Sukmoon has a limitation to cultivate the crops, due to increased salinity caused by drought and poor drainage system. The total area of reclaimed paddy field of Sukmoon was 305 ha, and silage corn was sown on 149 ha of the reclaimed paddy field in nine regions, such as Songsan 28 A and B, Songsan 27 A and B, Songsan 42 A, B and C, and Songsan 43 A and B. The productivity and nutritive value of corn were evaluated collected from each of nine experimental regions. Dry matter (DM) yields of P32B33 in Songsan 28 A and B, and Songsan 27 A were 13 to 15 ton/ha and it was increased 3 to 5 ton/ha as compared to those of Songsan 27 B. DM yields of Kwangpyungok in Songsan 42 A, and Songsan 43 A and B were 23 to 27 ton/ha and it was increased 15 to 16 ton/ha as compared to Songsan 42 A and B. The nutritive value of corn was not significantly different between Kwangpyungok and P32B33, but the yield of Kwangpyungok corn silage was higher compared to P32B33. Therefore, this study suggests that good drainage system is important to maintain normal growth and productivity of corn in the reclaimed paddy field.
ECR(Electron Cyclotron Resonance) occure at ${\omega}_c$=${\omega}$, ${\omega}_c$:electron cycltron frequency, ${\omega}$:electromagnetic wave frequency. ECR system have several merit, 1) power transefer efficiency 2) low neutral gas pressure (below 1 mTorr) 3) high plasma density($10^{12}$$cm^{-3}$). It is applicated variously in the field of semiconductor and new materials as the manufacturing equipment. Magnetic field in ECR system contruct resonance layer (${\omega}$=2.45GHz, $B_z$=875 Gauss) and control plasma. Plasma is almost generated at resonance layer. If the distance between substrate and resonance layer is short, uniformity of plasma is related with profile of resonance layer. Plasma have the property "Cold in Field", so directonality of magnetic field is one of the control factors of anisotropic etching. In this study, we calculate B field and flux line distribution, optimize geometry and submagnet current and improve of magnetic field directionality (99.9%) near substrate. For the purpose of calculation, vector potential A(r,z) and magnetic field B(r,z), green function and numerical integration is used. Object function for submagnet optimization is magnetic field directionality on the substrate and Powell method is used as optimization skim.

In order to generate the extrusion die surface of non-symmetric H- and U-shaped sections, an automatic surface construction method based on B-spline surface and scalar field theory is proposed in this study. The isothermal lines and stream lines designed in the scalar field are introduced to find the control points which are used in constructing B-spline surfaces. Intersected points between the isothermal lines and stream lines are used to construct B-spline surfaces. The inlet and outlet profiles are precisely described with B-spline curves by using the centripetal method for uniform parameterization. The extrusion die surface is generated by using the cubic curve interpolation in the u- and v-directions. A quantitative measure for the control of surface is suggested by introducing the tangential vectors at the inlet and outlet sections.

An automatic surface construction method based on B-spline surface and scalar field theory is proposed to generate the extrusion die surface of complicated sections in this paper. The isothermal lines and stream lines designed in the scalar field are introduced to find the control points which are used in constructing B-spline surfaces. The inlet and outlet profiles are precisely described with B-spline curves by using the centripetal method for uniform parameterization. A quantitative measure for the control of surface is suggested by introducing the tangential vectors at the inlet and outlet sections.
FeCoB films were being prepared on a Ru underlayer by using the oblique incidence of sputtered and back-scattered particles which have a high in-plane magnetic anisotropy field $H_k$ above 400 Oe. It is suitable to attain such deposition condition when facing targets sputtering system. The in-plane X-ray diffraction analysis clarified that there is anisotropic residual stress which is the origin of the high in-plane magnetic anisotropy. The directional crystalline alignment and inclination of crystallite growth were also observed. Such anisotropic crystalline structures may affect the anisotropic residual stress in the films. The B content of 5.6 at.% was appropriate to induce such anisotropic residual stress and $H_k$ of 410 Oe in this experiment. The film with B content of 6 at.% possessed large saturation magnetization of 22 kG and high $H_k$ of 500 Oe. The film exhibited high ferromagnetic resonance frequency of 9.2 GHz.
In this paper, an automatic surface construction method based on B-spline surface and scalar field theory is proposed to generate the extrusion die surface of non-symmetric H-and U-shaped sections. The extrusion die surface is generated by using the cubic curve interpolation in the u-and v-directions. A quantitative measure for the control of surface is suggested by introducing the tangential vectors at the inlet and outlet sections. To verify the validity of the proposed method, automatic surface generation is carried out for extrusion die of non-symmetric H-and U-shaped sections.

Traction performance of a tractor varies depending on soil conditions. Sinkage and slip of the driving wheel for tractor frequently occur in a reclaimed land. The objective of this study was to develop a tractor suitable for a reclaimed land. Traction performance was evaluated according to soil conditions of reclaimed land and paddy field. Field experiments were conducted at two test sites (Fields A: paddy field; and Field B: reclaimed land). The tractor load measurement system was composed of an axle rotation speed sensor, a torque meter, a six-component load cell, GPS, and a DAQ (Data Acquisition System). Soil properties including soil texture, water content, cone index, and electrical conductivity (EC) were measured. Referring to previous researches, the tractor traveling speed was set to B3 (7.05 km/h), which was frequently used in ridge plow tillage. Soil moisture contents were 33.2% and 48.6% in fields A and B, respectively. Cone index was 2.1 times higher in field A than in field B. When working in the reclaimed land, slip ratios were about 10.5% and 33.1% for fields A and B, respectively. The engine load was used almost 100% of all tractors under the two field conditions. Traction powers were 31.9 kW and 24.2 kW for fields A and B, respectively. Tractive efficiencies were 83.3% and 54.4% for fields A and B, respectively. As soil moisture increased by 16.4%, the tractive efficiency was lowered by about 28.9%. Traction performance of tractor was significantly different according to soil conditions of fields A and B. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the traction performance of tractor for smooth operations in all soil conditions including a reclaimed land by reflecting data of this study.
We have developed a planar-type single layer second-order $high-T_{c}$ SQUID gradiometer, which can detect the $d^2$$B_{z/}$dxdy of the second-order field gradient. This SQUID gradiometer consists of four-way 'clover-leaf' pick-up loops and is coupled directly to a 4-junction dc SQUID in such a way that the coupling polarity of the two diagonal loops is opposite to that of the other two loops. The pickup loops are intrinsically balanced for both uniform field and the 1 st-order field gradient. The $YBa_2$$Cu_3$$O_{7}$ thin film was made by pulsed laser deposition method on $SrTiO_3$ single crystal substrate and patterned by photolithography with Ar ion milling technique. Response of this gradiometer was tested for both uniform field and the 2nd-order field gradient. Details of the design, fabrication, and results will be discussed.

A 2-dimensional temperature field measurement technique using PLIF (Planar Laser Induced Fluorescence) was developed and it was applied to an axisymmetric buoyant jet. Rhodamine B was used as a fluorescent dye. Laser light sheet illuminated a two-dimensional cross section of the jet. The intensity variations of LIF signal from Rhodamine B molecules scattered by the laser light were captured with an optical filter and a CCD camera. The spatial variations of temperature field of buoyant jet were derived using the calibration data between the LIF signal and real temperature. The measured results show that the turbulent jet is more efficient in mixing compared to the transition and laminar jet flows. As the initial flow condition varies from laminar to turbulent flow, the entrainment from ambient fluid increases and temperature decay along the jet center axis becomes larger. In addition to the mean temperature field, the spatial distributions of temperature fluctuations were measured by the PLIF technique and the result shows the shear layer development from the jet nozzle exit.
