한반도 중서부 근 ${\cdot}$ 외해의 표층 퇴적물 특성과 퇴적환경 (Depositional Environments and Characteristics of Surface Sediments in the Nearshore and Offshore off the Mid-Western Coast of the Korean Peninsula)

  • 한반도 서해 중부지역의 대륙붕과 연안의 경계인 근${\cdot}$외해의 퇴적환경과 퇴적작용을 연구하기 위하여 1996년 부터 1999년 사이에 연속적으로 84개의 표층퇴적물을 채취하여 분석하였다. 연구지역 표층퇴적물은 역질 사(gravelly Sand), 사(Sand), 실트질 사(silty Sand) 그리고 사질 실트(sandy Silt)의 퇴적상을 보이고 있다. 조직변수는 표준입도 -0.39${\sim}7.82{\Phi}$, 분급도 0.36${\sim}4.68{\Phi}$, 왜도 -0.38${\sim}$0.86, 첨도 -1.56${\sim}$3.43로서 다양한 분포를 보이며 중앙지역의 조립하고 분급도가 좋은 사질 퇴적물을 중심으로 연안, 북과 남쪽으로 갈수록 세립해지고 분급도가 나빠지는 경향을 나타내며, 조석우세환경을 나타내는 양의 왜도를 나타내고 있다. 퇴적기작은 3가지(밑짐이동, 점이부유, 지속적 부유) 양상에 의하여 3지역으로 구분된다. 파랑, 조류의 영향으로 밑짐이동(mode A)으로 운반, 재분포된 북부지역, 상대적으로 지속적 부유(mode C)에 의한 이동, 운반, 퇴적된 남부지역 그리고 3가지 양상이 복합(mode B)되어 나타나는 중앙지역으로 구분된다. 따라서, 연구지역인 근${\cdot}$외해지역 퇴적환경은 강의 공급, 잔류퇴적물 그리고 수리학적 작용에 의해서 중앙, 남, 북부 지역으로 구별된다. 결론적으로 서해 중부 근${\cdot}$외해지역은 복잡한 수리학적 작용에 의한 다양한 퇴적기작으로 재배치된 연안의 육성기원퇴적물과 대륙붕의 잔류퇴적물이 특징적이며, 이런 퇴적작용으로 인해 연안에서 대륙붕으로 연결시켜주는 전이지역으로서의 퇴적환경을 보여주고 있다.

dB-선형적 특성을 가진 GPS 수신기를 위한 CMOS 가변 이득 증폭기 (dB-Linear CMOS Variable Gain Amplifier for GPS Receiver)

  • 본 논문에서는 GPS 수신기를 위한 dB-선형 특성이 개선된 가변 이득 증폭기 회로를 제안한다. 제안된 dB-선형 전류 발생기는 dB-선형성 오차가 ${\pm}0.15$dB 이내로 개선되었다. 개선된 dB-선형 전류 발생기를 사용하여 GPS 수신기를 위한 가변 이득 증폭기를 설계였다. GPS 수신기의 IF 주파수는 4MHz를 가정하였고, 선형성 요구조건을 도출하여 만족하기 위해 최소 이득일때 24dBm의 IIP3를 만족하도록 하였다. 가변이득 증폭기는 3단으로 구성되어 있으며 DC-오프셋 제거 루프를 통하여 회로의 오프셋 전압을 보상하였다. 설계된 가변 이득 증폭기의 이득은 -8dB~52dB의 범위를 가지며 이득의 dB-선형성은 ${\pm}0.2$dB 이내를 충족한다. 3-dB 주파수 대역폭은 이득에 따라 35MHz~106MHz를 보인다. 가변 이득 증폭기는 CMOS 0.18${\mu}m$ 공정을 이용하여 설계되었으며 전력은 1.8V 전원 전압에서 3mW를 소비한다.

모형가스터빈 연소기내 연소불안정성에 대한 연구 (Study on Mechanism of Combustion Instability in a Dump Gas Turbine Combustor)

  • Combustion instabilities are an important concern associated with lean premixed combustion. Laboratory-scale dump combustor was used to understand the underlying mechanisms causing combustion instabilities. Experiments were conducted at atmospheric pressure and sound level meter was used to track the pressure fluctuations inside the combustor. Instability maps and phase-resolved OH chemiluminescence images were obtained at several conditions to investigate the mechanism of combustion instability and relations between pressure wave and heat release rate. It showed that combustion instability was susceptible to occur at higher value of equivalence ratio (>0.6) as the mean velocity was decreased. Instabilities exhibited a longitudinal mode with a dominant frequency of ∼341.8 Hz, which corresponded to a quarter wave mode of combustor. Heat release and pressure waves were in-phase when instabilities occurred. Rayleigh index distribution gave a hint about the location where the strong coherence of pressure and heat release existed. These results also give an insight to the control scheme of combustion instabilities. Emission test revealed that NOx emissions were affected by not only equivalence ratio but also combustion instability.

Influence of thermo-physical properties on solutal convection by physical vapor transport of Hg2Cl2-N2 system: Part I - solutal convection

  • For typical governing dimensionless parameters of Ar = 5, Pr = 1.16, Le = 0.14, Pe = 3.57, Cv = 1.02, $Gr_s=2.65{\times}10^6$, the effects of thermo physical properties such as a molecular weight, a binary diffusivity coefficient, a partial pressure of component B on solutally buoyancy-driven convection (solutal Grashof number $Gr_s=2.65{\times}10^6$) are theoretically investigated for further understanding and insight into an essence of solutal convection occurring in the vapor phase during the physical vapor transport of a $Hg_2Cl_2-N_2$ system. The solutally buoyancy-driven convection is significantly affected by any significant disparity in the molecular weight of the crystal components and the impurity gas of nitrogen. The solutal convection in a vertical orientation is found to be more suppressed than a tenth reduction of gravitational accelerations in a horizontal orientation. For crystal growth parameters under consideration, the greater uniformity in the growth rate is obtained for either solutal convection mode in a vertical orientation or thermal convection mode in horizontal geometry. The growth rate is also found to be first order exponentially decayed for $10{\leq}P_B{\leq}200$ Torr.

고분자 폴리머 잉크를 이용한 고속 연속 전기 방사 프린팅 (High Speed and Continuous Electrospinning Printing Using Polymer Ink)

  • 최근 전기방사를 이용한 프린팅이 미세 패터닝 분야에 응용이 되고 있다. 전기방사를 이용한 패터닝은 연속 프린팅 방식으로 기존의 요구적출형 방식에 비해 패터닝 속도가 빠르다는 장점이 있다. 안정적인 연속 프린팅을 위해서는 고분자의 폴리머를 프린팅하려고 하는 잉크에 혼합하는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 PEO 를 이러한 첨가 폴리머로 사용하였다. 이러한 폴리머의 첨가에 대한 잉크의 점도 및 Taylor cone 형성에 대해 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 마지막으로 전기방사 프린팅의 예로서 실버 페이스트 잉크를 유리 기판 위에 패터닝하였다.

기체주입노즐의 내부유동양식의 구분 (Identification of Internal Flow Pattern in Effervescent Atomizers)

  • An experimental study was conducted to examine the internal flow patterns inside the mixing chamber of effervescent atomizers. The mixing chamber has the rectangular cross section ($8mm{\times}2mm$) and made of transparent acrylic plate for flow visualization. The parameters tested were the air/liquid ratio (ALR), injection. pressure, and the nozzle orifice diameter. Three different flow regimes were observed; bubbly, annular, and intermittent flows. In the bubbly flow regime, the discharged mixture was disintegrated into drops through the bubble expansion and the ligament breakup. On the other hand, in the annular flow regime, the liquid annulus was disintegrated into small drops by the aerodynamic interaction between the phases due to the high relative velocities between the gas and the liquid. In the intermittent flow regime, the bubble-expansion/ligament-disintegration mode and the annulus-disintegration mode appeared alternatively. The correlations representing the transition criteria between the two-phase flow patterns within the mixing chamber were proposed based on the drift-flux models.

  • 본 논문에서는 신경망 제어기를 이용하여 복합재 보의 적응 다중 모드 진동 제어에 관한 실험적 연구를 수행하였다. 신경망 제어기는 계산량이 많기 때문에 실시간 적용에 어려움이 따른다. 본 논문에서는 진동 신호를 모드별로 분리하기 위한 적응 노치 필터를 제안하였다. 연결 강도의 개수가 적어서 계산량이 적은 두 개의 신경망 제어기를 이용하여 각 모드의 제어력을 계산하였다. 끝단 질량의 위치의 차이로 인해 고유 진동수가 다른 두 시편 A, B에 대하여 적응 노치 필터와 신경망 제어기를 이용한 적응 진동 제어를 수행한 결과, 두 경우 모두 효과적으로 진동 제어가 이루어졌다. 이러한 결과로 시스템 파라미터의 변환에 대한 신경망 제어기의 적응 진동 제어 성능을 확인할 수 있다.

타원형 제트 스크리치 반사판이 과소팽창 음속 제트에 미치는 영향 (Effects of an Elliptic Jet Screech Reflector on an Underexpanded Sonic Jet)

  • A technique of mixing enhancement by using an elliptic jet screech reflector has been examined experimentally in an underexpanded sonic round jet where jet screech tone is generated. Since jet screech is known to enhance jet spreading, a reflector was designed to focus jet screech waves near the nozzle lip at an underexpanded jet. The reflector has an elliptic cross section of which one focus is located near the nozzle lip and the other in the jet screech source region in a plane including the jet axis. In the jet with the elliptic reflector, the mass flow rate showed a significant increase in the jet entrainment when compared to that for the small disk reflector. This was attributed to the increased screech amplitude near the nozzle lip as well as the mode change of the jet. The jet mixing was also increased by the amplified jet screech at two other underexpanded jets, but the jet oscillation mode did not change.

  • The objective of this study is a qualitative comparison between line-integrated OH chemiluminescence(OH$\^$*/) image and its Abel inverted image to investigate the flame structure at different phase of the oscillating pressure field. PIV(Particle Image Velocimetry) measurements were conducted under non-reacting conditions to see the global flow structure and NOx emission was measured to investigate the effect of fuel-air premixing on combustion instability and emission characteristics. Experiments were carried out in an atmospheric pressure, laboratory-scale dump combustor operating on natural gas. Combustion instabilities in present study exhibited a longitudinal mode with a dominant frequency of ∼341.8㎐, which corresponded to a quarter wave mode of combustor. Heat release and pressure waves were in-phase when instability occurred. Results gave an insight about the location where the strong coherence of pressure and heat release existed. Also an additional information on active control to suppress the combustion instabilities was obtained. For lean premixed combustion, strong correlation between OH$\^$*/ and NOx emissions was expected largely due to the exponential dependence of thermal NOx mechanism on flame temperature.

Mode of Transmission of a Newly Discovered Microsporidian and Its Effect on Fecundity and Hatching in Silkworm, Bombyx mori L.

  • The mode of transmission, effect on fecundity, hatching and tissues specificity of a microsporidian $(Lb_{ms})$ recovered from Lamerin breed of the silkworm Bombyx mori L. was studied and compared with standard strain Nosema bombycis. Peroral inoculation of $Lb_{ms}$ or N. bombycis to zeroday of $4^{th}$ instar larvae of silkworm was the most suitable method for producing information on development of stage specific mortality, pupation and obtaining infected adults for transovarial transmission studies. It was observed that pupal mortality, the percentage of moths emerged and the percentage of moths infected were significantly high in N. bombycis infected batches as compared $(Lb_{ms})$ in all the three tested breeds of the silkworm. However no significant difference was observed in larval mortality. The fecundity and hatchability was not affected significantly in $(Lb_{ms})$ infected adults, however significant reduction in egg production, fecundity, hatchability and increased egg retention was observed in mother moths infected with N. bombycis. The $(Lb_{ms})$ is transmitted both horizontally and vertically at lower rate due to its low rate of proliferation. The trans ovarial transmission of $(Lb_{ms})$ to the $F_1$ progeny generation through eggs averaged only $61.33\pm5.10\%$ whereas N. bombycis was transmitted at $100\%$. The $(Lb_{ms})$ had low oral infectivity and low transovarial transmission in silkworm B. mori.
