  • Erm proteins methylate the specific adenine residue ($A_{2058}$, E. coli numbering) on 23S rRNA to confer the $MLS_B$ (macrolidelincosamide-streptogramin B) antibiotic resistance on a variety of microorganisms ranging from antibiotic producers to pathogens. When phylogenetic tree is constructed, two main clusters come out forming each cluster of Actinobacteria and Firmicutes. Two representative Erm proteins from each cluster were selected and their in vitro methylation activities were compared. ErmS and ErmE from Actinobacteria cluster exhibited much higher activities than ErmB and ErmC' from Firmicutes: 9 fold difference when ErmC' and ErmE were compared and 13 fold between ErmS and ErmB. Most of the difference was observed and presumed to be caused by N-terminal and C-terminal extra region from ErmS and ErmE, respectively because NT59TE in which N-terminal end 59 amino acids was truncated from wild type ErmS exhibited only 22.5% of wild type ErmS activity. Meanwhile, even NT59TE showed three and 2.2 times more activity when it was compared to ErmB and C, respectively, suggesting core region from antibiotic producers contains extra structure enabling higher activity. This is suggested to be possible through the extra region of 197RWS199 (from both ErmS and ErmE), 261GVGGSLY267 (from ErmS), and 261GVGGNIQ267 (from ErmE) and 291SVV293 (from ErmS) and 291GAV293 (from ErmE) by multiple sequence alignment.

  • There is a serious problem in an 802.11g VoWLAN (Voice over Wireless LAN) terminal that talk time is less than 30% compared with an 802.11b terminal. It is almost impossible to achieve talk time level of the 802.11b MAC transmission method because IEEE 802.11g uses OFDM modulation, which is a kind of multi-carrier method and OFDM transmission speed is 54 Mbps faster than normal modulation. In this paper, a new concept of a Holdover time as a power saving method during a call with 802.11g terminal is suggested for the first time. Increase in the number of engaged terminals as a result of holdover time causes to QoS problem because of the increase in the number of back-off and then contention window. In this paper, to solve the QoS problem, a new approach is suggested such that when in down lint the sequence number of 802.11 G.711 is analyzed in the MAC of the terminal and then the Hold over time depending on loss rate is changed. Also, consumption of an electric current of 802.11b/g and MAC parameter's performance due to busy traffic caused by increase in the number of terminal are analyzed and then real data using VQT and Airopeek are analyzed.

  • Purpose: This study examined the effects of death perception, terminal care stress, and resilience on the terminal care performance of clinical nurses. Methods: As a correlational study, this study conducted a survey total of 189 nurses working at K university hospital and a P university hospital in B metropolitan city for six months or more. The data was collected from August 20th, 2020 to September 15th, 2020. Data were analyzed using the SPSS, Windows version 25.0, according to the purpose of the analysis by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and hierarchical multiple linear regression. Results: The factors having effects on the terminal care performance of subjects were resilience, perception of death, and the experience of terminal care education. The total explanatory power of those variables on the terminal care performance was 21.0%. Conclusion: For the improvement of terminal care performance, it would be necessary to develop a systematic and professional terminal care education program that could increase the positive perception of death and resilience, and also include knowledge and skills necessary for terminal care. Also, the efficiency of terminal care performance should be increased through periodic terminal care-related nursing education.

  • A 3-fold quotient terminal singularity is of the type $\frac{1}{r}(b,1,-1)$ with gcd(r, b) = 1. In [6], it is proved that the economic resolution of a 3-fold terminal quotient singularity is isomorphic to a distinguished component of a moduli space 𝓜𝜃 of 𝜃-stable G-constellations for a suitable 𝜃. This paper proves that each connected component of the moduli space 𝓜𝜃 has a torus fixed point and classifies all torus fixed points on 𝓜𝜃. By product, we show that for $\frac{1}{2k+1}(k+1,1,-1)$ case the moduli space 𝓜𝜃 is irreducible.

  • In this paper, we introduce a case of a fire accident during parking of a large truck that is repeatedly occurring. The shape and location of the combustion and electrical singularity commonly found in other vehicle fire accidents could limit the starter motor as the ignition section. In addition, it was possible to confirm the electrical melting singularity that could act as a cause of ignition between the start motor B terminal and the start motor enclosure. By combining the above investigations and investigations, it was possible to estimate the electric fire expressed from insulation breaking of the starter motor B terminal, and by using the renewable starter motor comparison product mounted on the fire vehicle, an experiment was performed to reproduce the ignition process from the starter motor under specific conditions. So. It is hoped that this will raise awareness about vehicle fires, which can lead to large fires or casualties, share the risks of using starter motors for regeneration, and help in the rapid and accurate investigation of similar vehicle fires in the future.

  • Dihydrodipicolinate reductase is an enzyme that converts dihydrodipicolinate to tetrahydrodipicolinate using an NAD(P)H cofactor in L-lysine biosynthesis. To increase the understanding of the molecular mechanisms of lysine biosynthesis, we determined the crystal structure of dihydrodipicolinate reductase from Corynebacterium glutamicum (CgDapB). CgDapB functions as a tetramer, and each protomer is composed of two domains, an Nterminal domain and a C-terminal domain. The N-terminal domain mainly contributes to nucleotide binding, whereas the C-terminal domain is involved in substrate binding. We elucidated the mode of cofactor binding to CgDapB by determining the crystal structure of the enzyme in complex with NADP+ and found that CgDapB utilizes both NADH and NADPH as cofactors. Moreover, we determined the substrate binding mode of the enzyme based on the coordination mode of two sulfate ions in our structure. Compared with Mycobacterium tuberculosis DapB in complex with its cofactor and inhibitor, we propose that the domain movement for active site constitution occurs when both cofactor and substrate bind to the enzyme.

  • The Pi-b is the rice gene conferring race specific resistance to the blast fungus Magnaporthe grisea race having a corresponding avirulence gene, AVR-Pi-b. All resistant cultivars have two copies of the Pi-b gene, but susceptible cultivars have a single copy of the gene. About 1 Kbp insertion sequence was detected in the open reading frame of the Pi-b gene from the susceptible cv. Nipponbare. The nature of insertion sequence was identified as a solo long terminal repeat (LTR) of new rice Tyl-copia-like retrotransposon. LTR was widely distributed in the rice genome. Various types of different patterns of restriction fragment length polymorphism of LTR were detected in indica cultivars, whereas a single type was detected from japonica cultivars. The insertion of LTR sequence in the Pi-b gene in the susceptible cultivar suggested that retrotransposon-mediated insertional mutation might played an important role in the resistance breakdown as well as evolution of resistance genes in rice.
