  • In general, X-ray diffraction method detects the changes of crystal lattice under material surface using the angle of diffraction 2$\theta$. This technique which deals with in the presented paper can be applied to a behavior on the slipped band or the micro crack cause to material degradation. The relation between half-value breadth and cycle numbers shows three stages, which consist of rapid decrease in the initial cycle, slight decrease in the middle cycle, and then rapid decrease in the final cycle. The ratio of half-value breadth has a constant value on B/B$\_$0/ - N diagram under the loading condition except early part of fatigue life. The ratio of half-value breadth B/B$\_$0/ - log N$\_$f/ with respect to number of cycle to failure N$\_$f/ has linear behavior on B/B$\_$0/ - log N$\_$f/ diagram. Therefore, the evaluation of fatigue life by the average gradient has much less mean error than the estimation of fatigue life by log B/B$\_$0/ - log N/N$\_$f/ relation.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the association of POU1F1 (POU domain, class 1, transcription factor 1, Pit1, renamed as POU1F1) gene with backfat thickness (mm), carcass weight (kg), pH, and color values ($L^*$, $a^*$, $b^*$) in crossbred pigs (Landrace ${\times}$ Yorkshire ${\times}$ Duroc). Frequency of the AA genotype indel was at the highest level (66.67%). Frequency of A allele (0.81) was higher than that of b allele (0.19). This population followed Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. Carcass weights and $a^*$ values of the three genotypes were all significantly different (p < 0.05), respectively. However, backfat thickness, $L^*$, $b^*$, visual color, and pH of the three genotypes were not significantly different (p > 0.05). Visual color was negatively correlated with $L^*$ (r = -0.521) and $b^*$ (r = -0.390) values, $L^*$ value was correlated with $b^*$ (r = 0.419) value, and $a^*$ value was positively correlated with $b^*$ (r = 0.612) value. These results indicate that the POU1F1 gene affected carcass weight and meat redness.

  • In this paper, we study the value distribution of meromorphic functions and prove the following theorem: Let f(z) be a transcendental meromorphic function. If f and f'have the same zeros, then f'(z) takes any non-zero value b infinitely many times.

  • The growth of solutions of second order complex differential equations f" + A(z)f' + B(z)f = 0 with transcendental entire coefficients is considered. Assuming that A(z) has a finite deficient value and that B(z) has either Fabry gaps or a multiply connected Fatou component, it follows that all solutions are of infinite order of growth.

  • In this paper, by using the difference analogue of Nevanlinna's theory, the authors study the shared-value problem concerning two higher order difference operators of a transcendental entire function with finite order. The following conclusion is proved: Let f(z) be a finite order transcendental entire function such that λ(f - a(z)) < ρ(f), where a(z)(∈ S(f)) is an entire function and satisfies ρ(a(z)) < 1, and let 𝜂(∈ ℂ) be a constant such that ∆𝜂n+1 f(z) ≢ 0. If ∆𝜂n+1 f(z) and ∆𝜂n f(z) share ∆𝜂n a(z) CM, where ∆𝜂n a(z) ∈ S ∆𝜂n+1 f(z), then f(z) has a specific expression f(z) = a(z) + BeAz, where A and B are two non-zero constants and a(z) reduces to a constant.

  • In this paper, we investigate the growth properties of solutions of the non-homogeneous linear complex differential equation L(f) = b (z) f + c (z), where L(f) is a linear differential polynomial and b (z), c (z) are entire functions and give some of its applications on sharing value problems.

  • In this paper, we deal with the following system of nonlinear singular boundary value problems(BVPs) on time scale $\mathbb{T}$ $$\{{{{{{x^{\bigtriangleup\bigtriangleup}(t)+f(t,\;y(t))=0,\;t{\in}(a,\;b)_{\mathbb{T}},}\atop{y^{\bigtriangleup\bigtriangleup}(t)+g(t,\;x(t))=0,\;t{\in}(a,\;b)_{\mathbb{T}},}}\atop{\alpha_1x(a)-\beta_1x^{\bigtriangleup}(a)=\gamma_1x(\sigma(b))+\delta_1x^{\bigtriangleup}(\sigma(b))=0,}}\atop{\alpha_2y(a)-\beta_2y^{\bigtriangleup}(a)=\gamma_2y(\sigma(b))+\delta_2y^{\bigtriangleup}(\sigma(b))=0,}}$$ where $\alpha_i$, $\beta_i$, $\gamma_i\;{\geq}\;0$ and $\rho_i=\alpha_i\gamma_i(\sigma(b)-a)+\alpha_i\delta_i+\gamma_i\beta_i$ > 0(i = 1, 2), f(t, y) may be singular at t = a, y = 0, and g(t, x) may be singular at t = a. The arguments are based upon a fixed-point theorem for mappings that are decreasing with respect to a cone. We also obtain the analogous existence results for the related nonlinear systems $x^{\bigtriangledown\bigtriangledown}(t)$ + f(t, y(t)) = 0, $y^{\bigtriangledown\bigtriangledown}(t)$ + g(t, x(t)) = 0, $x^{\bigtriangleup\bigtriangledown}(t)$ + f(t, y(t)) = 0, $y^{\bigtriangleup\bigtriangledown}(t)$ + g(t, x(t)) = 0, and $x^{\bigtriangledown\bigtriangleup}(t)$ + f(t, y(t)) = 0, $y^{\bigtriangledown\bigtriangleup}(t)$ + g(t, x(t)) = 0 satisfying similar boundary conditions.

  • In order to industrialize traditional Meju-tasting Koji, the characteristics of Koji manufactured with bacteria and fungi found in traditional Meju were investigated. Bacillus subtilis B-4 and Aspergillus oryzae F-5 showing high enzyme activities including those of amylase and protease were used. L-value of Koji manufactured with B. subtilis B-4 had darker color and higher enzyme production than A. oryzae F-5 made one. B. subtilis B-4 made Koji showed higher enzyme production and sensony evaluation score than A. oryzae F-5 Koji. A. oryzae F-5 Koji showed superior color to B. subtilis B-4 Koji. Activity in color, capacity of enzyme production, viable cell count, and sensory evaluation of water activity controlled Koji was superior to the uncontrolled one.

  • In order to be utilized as a database in forensic identification and parentage test, allelic frequency and genotype distribution of short tandem repeat(STR) F13B locus was analysed by polymerase chain reaction in 210 Korean adults who are not related. The results were as follows. 1. 3 alleles and 56 genotypes of F13B locus were detected and heterozygosity value was 48.6% and allelic diversity value was 0.639 and the power of discrimination was 0.804. 2. The observed each alleles and allelic frequency was 8(0.069), 9(0.193), 10(0.738). In conclusion, the allelic frequency of STR F13B locus in the Korean is considered as an useful DNA allelic profile for forensic identification, but it should be used with several other STR locus to get definitive conclusion of analysis for individual identification and parentage testing.
