In this paper, a scheme for the evaluation of variability in the eigen-modes of functionally graded material(FGM) beams is proposed within the framework of perturbation-based stochastic analysis. As a random parameter, the spatially varying elastic modulus of FGM along the axial direction at the mid-surface of the beam is chosen, and the thru-thickness variation of the elastic modulus is assumed to follow the original form of exponential variation. In deriving the formulation, the first order Taylor expansion on the eigen-modes is employed. As an example, a simply supported FGM beam having symmetric elastic modulus with respect to the mid-surface is chosen. Monte Carlo analysis is also performed to check if the proposed scheme gives reasonable outcomes. From the analyses it is found that the two schemes give almost identical results of the mean and standard deviation of eigen-modes. With the propose scheme, the standard deviation shape of respective eigen-modes can be evaluated easily. The deviated mode shape is found to have one more zero-slope points than the mother modes shapes, irrespective of order of modes. The amount of deviation from the mean is found to have larger values for the higher modes than the lower modes.

In this paper, we present novel dual-band microstrip antennas using inverted-L-shaped parasitic elements vertically at radiation apertures for GPS L1(1.575 GHz) and L2(1.227 GHz) bands. For making dual band which has large interval, the inverted-L-shaped parasitic element was loaded at the radiation aperture of a half-wavelength patch antenna(GPS L1) in opposite direction of the feeding point for receiving the low frequency(GPS L2). The low frequency occurs by perturbation and coupling between the patch and parasitic. Next, due to use circular polarizations at the GPS applications, two inverted-L-shaped parasitic elements were loaded at radiation apertures of each polarizations and the feeding point was moved at diagonal part of the patch. The dimensions of the designed circularly polarized antenna were $88.5{\times}79{\times}10.4mm^3$ ($0.36{\lambda}L{\times}0.32{\lambda}L{\times}0.04{\lambda}L$, ${\lambda}L$ is the free-space wavelength at 1.227 GHz). Measured -10 dB bandwidths were 116.3 MHz(7.4%) and 64.3 MHz(5.2%) at GPS L1 and L2 bands, respectively. All of these cover the respective required system bandwidths. The measured 3 dB axial ratio bandwidths were 11.7 MHz(0.74%) and 14 MHz(1.14%), respectively. Within each of the designed bands, broadside radiation patterns were observed.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the marginal and internal adaptation of monolithic zirconia restoration made without physical model by digital intraoral scanner. Materials and methods: A prospective clinical trial was performed on 11 restorations as a pilot study. The monolithic zirconia restorations were fabricated after digital intraoral impression taking by intraoral scanner (TRIOS, 3shape, Copenhagen, Denmark), computer-aided designing, and milling manufacturing process. Completed zirconia crowns were tried in the patients' mouth and a replica technique was used to acquire the crown-abutment replica. The absolute marginal discrepancy, marginal gap, and internal gap of axial, line angle, and occlusal part were measured after sectioning the replica in the mesiodistal and buccolingual direction. Statistical analysis was performed using Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney U test (${\alpha}=.05$). Results: From the adaptation analysis by replica, the statistically significant difference was not found between mesiodistal and buccolingual sections (P>.05), but there was significant difference among the measurement location (P<.01). The amount of absolute marginal discrepancy was larger than those of marginal gap and internal gap (P<.01). Conclusion: Within the limitations of this study, the adaptation accuracy of model-free monolithic zirconia restoration fabricated by intraoral scanner exhibited clinically acceptable result. However, the margin of zirconia crown showed tendency of overcontour and cautious clinical application and follow up is necessary.

A numerical analysis has been performed through implicit dynamic finite element analysis using the commercial package, ABAQUS in order to investigate effect of laser peening on welding residual stress mitigation of dissimilar metal welds in a safety injection nozzle of integral reactor. The implicit dynamic finite element analysis are compared with the previous experimental results. By comparison, it is identified that the implicit dynamic finite element analysis is valid for residual stress mitigation via laser peening. Implicit static finite element residual stress analysis has been performed for the dissimilar metal welds subject to inner repair welding. The analysis results represent that both axial and hoop residual stresses are tensile on inner surface of safety injection nozzle due to inner repair welding. Also Parametric study has performed to investigate effect of laser peening variables such as maximum impact pressure, duration time of pressure, spot diameter and peening direction on the welding residual stress mitigation. As a result, it is found that laser peening has the preventive maintenance effect to mitigate mainly residual stresses of region near inner surface.
Most fluorite deposits of South Korea are distributed in three metallogenic zones namly as: Hwacheon, Hwangangni and Geumsan metallogenic zones. Fluorite deposits of each zone show The characteristic features owing to the geological setting, the structural patterns and their forming processes. deposits of the Hwacheon metallogenic zone are wholly fissure filling hydrothermal veins emThe bedded in shear fractures of the granite gneiss or schists of Precambrian age or in the cooling fractures of the granite and acidic hypabyssal rocks which are assumed to be a differentiated sister rock of the granite. Localization of most fluorite veins of the region is structurally controlled by NW and EW fracture systems and genetically related to the granite intrusion which ascertained as motivating rock of the fluorite mineralization. Fluorites are in most cases accompanied by quartz, chalcedony mainly and rarely agate, calcite, barite and sulphide base metals in some localities. The deposits of the Hwangangni metallogenic zone were formed at the last stage of hydrothermal polymineralization of W, Mo, Cu, Pb, Zn. The majority of the fluorite ore bodies were originated from replacement in limestone beds of Great Limestone Series or in calcareous interbeds of metasediments, whereas some cavity-filling ore bodies were embedded in phyllites and schists of the Ockcheon system and along the fissures in the replaced beds which were originated by volume decrease. The localization of fluorite deposits in this region is genetically related to the Moongyong granite which has been dated as middle Cretaceous, and controlled structurally by the $N20^{\circ}{\sim}50^{\circ}W$ extension fracture system or axial planes of folds, and by faults of NE direction that acted as paths of ore solution. The deposits of the Geumsan metallogenic zone are seemed to be formed through the similar process as that of Hwangangni metallogenic zone, but characteristic distinctions are in that they are more prevailing fracture filling veins and large number of the deposits are localized in roof-pendants or xenolithes of limestone in granites and porphyries. Igneous rocks that presumably motivated the mineraltzation are middle Cretaceous Geumsan granite and porphyries. Metallogenic epoch of the fluorite mineralization of South Korea are puesumably limited in early-middle Cretaceous. Studies of the fluid inclusions in fluorites of the region reveal that the homogenization temperature of the fluorite deposits are as follows: Hwacheon metallogenic zone : $95^{\circ}C{\sim}165^{\circ}C$; Hwangangni metallogenic zone : $97^{\circ}C{\sim}235^{\circ}C$; Geumsan metallogenic zone : $93^{\circ}C{\sim}236^{\circ}C$. Judging from the above results, the deposits of the Hwancheon region were formed at the epithermal stage, and those in the Hwangangni and Geumsan regions, were deposited at epithermal stage preceded by mesothermal mineralization of small scale in which some sulphide minerals were deposited. The analytical data of minor elements in the fluorites reveal that ore solutions of Hwangangni metallogenic zone seemed to be emanated in more acidic stage of magma differentiation than Hwacheon metallogenic zone did.
One of the most critical issues in sol id oxide fuel cell (SOFC)running on hydrocarbon fuels is the risk of carbon formation from the fuel gas. The simple method to reduce the risk of carbon formation from the reactions is to add steam to the fuel stream, leading to the carbon gasification react ion. However, the addition of steam to fuel is not appropriate for the auxiliary power unit (APU) and potable power generation (PPG) systems due to an increase of complexity and bulkiness. In this regard, many researchers have focused on so-called 'direct methane' operation of SOFC, which works with dry methane without coking. However, coking can be suppressed only by the operation with a high current density, which may be a drawback especially for the APU and PPG systems. The single chamber fuel cell (SC-SOFC) is a novel simplification of the conventional SOFC into which a premixed fuel/air mixture is introduced. It relies on the selectivity of the anode and cathode catalysts to generate a chemical potential gradient across the cell. Moreover it allows compact and seal-free stack design. In this study, we fabricated honeycomb type mixed-gas fuel cell (MGFC) which has advantages of stacking to the axial direction and increasing volume power density. Honeycomb-structured SOFC with four channels was prepared by dry pressing method. Two alternative channels were coated with electrolyte and cathode slurry in order to make cathodic reaction sites. We will discuss that the anode supported honeycomb type cell running on mixed gas condition.
The use of composite restorative materials is established due to continuing improvements in the materials and restorative techniques. Composite resins are widely used for the restoration of cervical lesions because of esthetics, good physical properties and working time. There are several types of cavity design for class V composite resin filling, but inappropriate cavity form may affect bonding failure, microleakage and fracture during mastication. Cavity preparations for composite materials should be as conservative as possible. The extent of the preparation is usually determined by the size, shape, and location of the defect. The design of the cavity preparation to receive a composite restoration may vary depending on several factors. In this study, 5 types of class V cavity were prepared on each maxillary central incisor. The types are; 1) V-shape, 2) round(U) shape, 3) box form, 4) box form with incisal bevel and 5) box form with incisal bevel and grooves for axial line angles. After restoration, in order to observe the concentration of stress at bonding surfaces of teeth and restorations, developing a 2-dimensional finite element model of labiopalatal section in tooth, surrounding bone, periodontal ligament and gingiva, based on the measurements by Wheeler, loading force from direction of 45 degrees from lingual side near the incisal edge was applied. This study analysed Von Mises stress with SuperSap finite element analysis program(Algor Interactive System, Inc.). The results were as follows : 1. Stress concentration was prevalent at tooth-resin bonding surface of cervical side on each model. 2. In model 2 without line angle, stress was distributed evenly. 3. Preparing bevel eliminated stress concentration much or less at line angle. 4. Model with round-shape distributed stress concentration more evenly than box-type model with sharp line angle, therefore decreased possibility of fracture. 5. Adding grooves to line angles had no effect of decreasing stress concentration to the area.

In this paper, we present the analytical study results pertaining to the buckling of the orthotropic plates and local buckling of structural compression members composed of orthotropic plate components. Fiber reinforced polymeric plastic (FRP) materials, have many advantages over conventional structural materials such as steel and concrete. The advantages of the FRP materials are high specific strength and stiffness, high corrosion resistance, right weight, etc. Among the various manufacturing methods, pultrusion process is one of the best choices for the mass production of structural plastic members. Since the major reinforcing fibers are placed along the axial direction of the member, this material is usually considered as an orthotropic (tranversely isotropic, more specifically) material. However, pultruded fiber reinforced plastic structural members have low modulus of elasticity and are composed of orthotropic thin plate components the members are prone to buckle. Therefore, stability is an important issue in the design of the pultruded FRP structural members. In this paper, the buckling of orthotropic plates and the local buckling of pultruded FRP structural members are investigated by following the previous research results and the local buckling strength of the member produced in the domestic manufacturer is found.

Purpose: In this study, we proposed a simple accommodation-dependent crystalline lens with a constant volume and homogeneous refractive index. Methods: We proposed a human crystalline lens with two aspheric surfaces. Two surfaces intersect in two points and straight line between two points was equator(2b). It assumed that the derivative in axial direction was zero at the equator and the radial derivative was zero at the vertex. Proposed human crystalline lens was divided by the equator into the anterior and posterior parts. It was assume that the volume of each part and refractive index of the human crystalline lens were constant during accommodation. Results: For the changes during accommodation, geometrical parameters were determined by different objective distances. Considering the constant volume of each part with the small decrement of the equator, we obtained the paraxial parameters, such as the anterior and posterior vertex radius of curvature and lens thickness. Compared with the experimental data published in the literature, calculated values using simple approximation showed similar change per accommodative stimulus. Conclusions: These results showed that proposed simple approximation using assumption of constant volume and refractive index of the human crystalline lens made it possible to predict changes of geometrical parameters during accommodation.

When a radial wheel is placed so as to partially overlap a conductive plate and rotated, a lift force is generated on the wheel, a thrust force along the edge, and a lateral force which tends to reduce the overlap region. When several of these wheels are combined, it is possible to realize a system in which the stability of the remaining axes is ensured, except in the traveling direction. To validate the overall characteristics of the multi-wheel system, we propose a transfer system levitated magnetically using radial electrodynamic wheels. The proposed system is floated and propelled by four wheels and arranged in a structure that allows the thrusts generated by the front and rear wheels to offset each other. The dynamic stability of the wheel and the effect of the pole number on the three-axial forces are analyzed by the finite element method. At this time, the thrust and levitation force are strongly coupled, and the only factor affecting them is the wheel rotation speed. Therefore, in order to control these two forces independently, we make use of the fact that the ratio of the thrust to the levitation force is proportional to the velocity and is independent of the size of the gap. The in-plane and out-of-plane motion control of the system is achieved by this control method and compared with the simulation results. The experimental results show that the coupled degrees of freedom can be effectively controlled by the wheel speed alone.
