  • Participants of this 1998 survey included 100 physical therapists working in hospitals located in Andong City. 77.7% of the participants were in their twenties and 20.2% in their forties. 46.4% of the participants were 3rd year students at a junior college, and 1.0% were college graduates. 67.6% of the participants had less than 5 years experience and 1.0% 16 years experience in their field. 59.6% of the participants were married. Regarding questions about occupational satisfaction, many of the participants replied "normal" for the first and third questions, and few answered "very much". Most of the participants answered "normal" for all the questions concerning their work environment with few replying "very much". With regards to awareness of the physical signs of fatigue, "occasionally, yes" were the most frequent answers. Regarding awareness of the psychological signs of fatigue, the similar proportions of participants answered "occasionally, yes" as that for "feeling nothing". Similarly, with regard to awareness of the neuro-sensitive signs of fatigue, there was a similar ratio of participants answering "occasionally, yes" and "feel nothing". It can be concluded that there are many causes of fatigue amongst physical therapists. Improvements in daily nutrition, mental health and general well-being are important in tackling these problems. It appears that fatigue amongst physical therapists may be cumulative and due to prolonged working hours To promote better daily functioning and early recovery from fatigue, appropriate assignments of working and resting hours are necessary. They would also benefit the prevention of symptomatic problems in the waist and shoulder.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the awareness of long-term care hospitals on pay for performance(P4P) program in Korea. We conducted a cross-sectional, self-administered, the internet based survey from September to October in 2010. The questionnaire was consisted of the levels of awareness and agreement about the program, their preferred design and its possible effects and unintended consequences etc. Among 837 eligible long-term care hospitals in Korea, 114 hospitals(13.6%) were participated in the survey. About one-thirds of long-term care hospitals were not aware of P4P, namely it is important to heighten an awareness of P4P. There were pros and cons on introduction of P4P in Korea. The two major reasons of objections of P4P were the concerns of unintended consequences and the possibility of strengthening government control by implementing P4P. In conclusion, to successfully implement P4P to long-term care hospitals, the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service(HIRA) in Korea should obtain the long-term care hospitals'opinion as to implementation of P4P.

  • Since the history of the South Korea roundabouts is short, there is a possibility that drivers' awareness for the roundabouts (rules of the road, definition, location, etc.) is low, which may affect the compliance with traffic rules. Based on this assumption, the objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between the awareness and the compliance of traffic rules for roundabouts using a structural equation modeling (SEM). To carry out this objective, an online survey was conducted for 526 drivers, who reside in Goyang, Korea, and an SEM was estimated based on the survey data. As a result, it is concluded that awareness of roundabout has a positive impact on the compliance of traffic rules. Additionally, the compliance is found to show a positive relationship with driving experience. Based on the analysis results, an affective approach through soft measures such as awareness campaigns and educations is recommended to effectively address and mitigate the negative issues induced by roundabouts.

  • The definition of the national security is that the lives of its people and the property of the country must be kept from the enemies. The people in the country must have the awareness of national security in their mind, and the fate of the country relies on the security awareness of the people. Most of college students are to have their own goals trying to fulfil in their life. If the national security is not guaranteed, it will not be possible to achieve their dreams and goals. Currently, most of college students have been trained only for passing college entrance exams in their growth processes, and some of them are confused with political, social, and cultural identity. College students are spending most of time on the preparation for getting employment, so they are indifferent to the national security of their country. After the seminar for college student's unification and security, we will survey how much they could be changed and propose the guidelines for college student's security awareness.

  • Background: In modern society, rapid changes in the medical environment have required medical staff to access various information and be competent in active and effective problem-solving through collegial interactions. In line with these changes, universities are aiming to connect education. This study aimed to provide basic data of connected-convergence education by survey the awareness and needs of college students in health-related fields. Methods: This study included 122 college students from the health field. A survey regarding "the awareness and need of connected-convergence education" was conducted and general characteristics of the participants were collected from June to July 2022. Results: The awareness of connected-convergence education was low at 19.7%, but the intention to participate was high at 74.6%. Subject requirements were 18.0% for medical psychology, 13.5% for communication and counseling, 13.5% for medical artificial intelligence technology convergence, and 10.4% for sports health management. In the group showing high satisfaction with the major curriculum, the demand for connected education was also high. For efficient operation, it was investigated that it was necessary to secure specialized training courses, recognition of liberal arts credits, the right to register for courses equal to those of major students, and secure dedicated classrooms. Conclusion: Although the awareness and experience of connected-convergence education among the participants were low, the intention to participate was high. As such a plan to revitalize the university curriculum was required. It is timely to discuss the nurturing of convergence-type talents and multidisciplinary thinking skills. It is meaningful to provide basic data necessary for connected-convergence education in health-related fields at university. Universities should strive to enhance job competency in the health field by providing connected-convergence education based on student demands.
