Purpose: This study investigated the relationship between artificial intelligence ethical awareness, bioethics awareness, and person-centered care of general hospital nurses. Methods: The participants were 192 nurses. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, analysis of variance, and Pearson's correlation coefficient with the SPSS program. Results: The average points for artificial intelligence ethical awareness, bioethics awareness, and person-centered care were 2.93, 2.77, and 3.50, respectively. Artificial intelligence ethical awareness and bioethics awareness had statistically significant negative relationships. Artificial intelligence ethical awareness, bioethics awareness, and person-centered care were not significantly correlated. Conclusion: Education, training, and organizational support are needed to improve artificial intelligence ethics awareness, bioethics awareness, and person-centered care for general hospital nurses.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the service needs and role awareness of military hospital coordinator to provide basic data for establishing the role of military hospital coordinator and facilitating efficient, systematic work performance. Questionnaires were used to survey military hospital out patients for 25 days from July 13 to August 11. 2011. The subjects were 616 outpatients. Research results, the recognition of higher awareness of the military hospital coordinator to perform the work to know if the work performed was low awareness of the present in the generally. High service needs was generally presented among outpatients that perceived the work performed by the military hospital coordinator, and most of the work preformed in the service needs was higher, showed a high needs. The results of this study showed that military hospital outpatients presented low role awareness but high level of service needs for military hospital coordinator. Establish roles of military hospital coordinator and provide for systematic performance if so can military hospital will contribute to improving service satisfaction.
The purpose of this research is to evaluate Brand Value by using the K-BPI(Korea Brand Power Index) of Korea Management Association which is based on consumer awareness, as well as to identify how Brand Value which is composed of top of awareness, unaided awareness, aided awareness, image, possibility of purchasing, preference, affects on the Market Share perceived by consumers. This research subjects were 10 hospitals with more than 1,000 beds in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do, and survey subjects were 20 or older adults living in the metropolitan area of Korea. Using K-BPI for measuring Brand Value and used calculation of Market Share according to consumer preference model for measuring Market Share. The major results of this research are as follows: First, this research identified that the top 5 hospitals of largest hospitals in metropolitan area measured by using K-BPI and Market Share were same hospitals as Big 4 hospitals of previous research evaluating the comprehensive competitiveness of hospitals and also same as hospitals that appeared recently. Second, Big 5 hospitals ranked first to fifth in both Brand Value and Market Share. To identify the relationship between K-BPI items(top of awareness, unaided awareness, aided awareness, image, availability, preference) and Market Share, multiple linear regression was used by dividing 5 upper and 5 lower group of hospitals per each. The group of 5 upper hospitals had a significant effect on Market Share, with 'top of awareness', 'unaided awareness', 'aided awareness'. The group of 5 lower hospitals had a significant effect on Market Share with 'unaided awareness', 'aided awareness'. The results of this study and hospitals of the first to third hospitals published in the K-BPI press release reported by KMAC in 2017, and the previous studies evaluating the comprehensive competitiveness hospitals, all had one thing in common that Big 4 hospitals ranked high position. This suggests that evaluation of Brand Value also can be a evaluation measure of hospital. A new competitiveness of hospital is expected by managing brand awareness to have a brand competitiveness and by securing intrinsic Market Share of consumer to reach hospital use ultimately.

Background/Aims: Metabolic syndrome (MetS) raises the risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. An awareness of MetS is vital for early detection and proactive management, which can mitigate the risks associated with MetS. Therefore, our study aimed to investigate the level of awareness of MetS among the Korean population. Methods: We conducted a nationwide survey between January and February 2023 among a representative sample of the Korean population using an online survey. Information regarding the awareness of MetS and its risk, the importance of lifestyle modification, and health behavior were collected. The question about the awareness of MetS was "How much do you think you know about MetS?" and there were five answers: 1) I know very well, 2) I know well, 3) I know a little, 4) I do not know, and 5) I have no idea. The high-awareness group was defined as those who answered that they knew very well or well. Results: Among 1,000 participants (mean age, 45.7 ± 13.2 yr), 29% were unaware of MetS, and only 20.8% had high awareness. The high-awareness group was significantly more knowledgeable about lifestyle modifications and demonstrated better health behaviors. After adjustment for possible confounding factors, younger age, low household income, and absence of comorbidity were independently associated with a lack of awareness regarding MetS. Conclusions: The high-awareness group showed greater knowledge of the importance of lifestyle modifications and better health behaviors regarding MetS. The findings highlight the need for improved public education and awareness programs regarding MetS.
This study conducted a comparative analysis of awareness level of review standards, continuing education, and awareness about the need for speciality and educational courses in order to improve quality of Korean health insurance review work and to present directions for policies of personnel development and continuing education to smoothly perform hospital's insurance claim work and Agency's review work. The analysis unit of the study is individuals, and survey was conducted among hospital's claim officers and Agency' review officers by distributing questionnaires. The major results of the study are as follows: First, it is found that hospital's claim officers and Agency's review officers have conflicting awareness about review standards; more Agency's review officers think that current review standards are universal and reasonable, while more hospital's claim officers believe that they need to be revised. Especially, hospital's claim officers replied that it is possible that review results can differ according to government's policies. Second, there is no significant difference between the two groups in the opinion that there are individual differences in awareness level of review standard. In particular, both groups share the opinion that review results can differ according to officer's interpretation of review standards. Third, Both review officer groups feel the need for further training and continuing education. Fourth, there is no difference between the two groups in the opinion that both groups members should be educated in review related educational institutions. However, while 81.5% of Agency's review officers the education should be offered at the Agency, only 45.2% of hospital's claim officers agreed to it. Fifth, both review personnel do not show any difference in awareness of needed experience to successfully perform review work; both groups replied that three to four years experience is necessary to smoothly perform claim work and review work. This study was tried in order to search for directions to improve Korean insurance review work in quality rather than to explore characteristics themselves of individual factors. In this sense, this study presupposed an intention that the educational subjects for further training and continuing education for the two groups should be the same in order to narrow the awareness gap between hospital's claim officers and Agency's review officers. Thus, this study suggests that it is desirable to offer beginner courses at junior colleges or in undergraduate courses and advanced courses in professional graduate school for six to twelve months. In that a comparison of awareness level of hospital's claim officers and Agency's review officers who are actually in practice should precede appropriate presentation of directions for the qualitative improvement of insurance review work in Korea, the significance of this study lies in comparatively analyzing the awareness level of hospital's claim officers and Agency's review officers and in presenting the establishment of future further training and continuing education.

The aims of the study to investigate the relationship between awareness, empowerment and performance of healthcare associated infections (HAIs) control and to identify factors influencing performance of HAIs among general hospital nurses. Data were collected from 230 nurses in two general hospitals in B city, with the questionnaire of an empowerment, awareness and performance of infection control tool. The data were analyzed by t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regressions. The performance of infection control was significantly correlated with empowerment and awareness of infection control. The empowerment had a positive correlation with an awareness of infection control (r= .233, p <.001) respectively. The infection control performance was influenced by infection control awareness, empowerment and number of annual job training, which explained 42.2% of the performance of infection control. Infection management performance of general hospitals nurses is affected not only by infection awareness but also by empowerment and job education. Therefore, it suggests that HAIs management program could develop for the nurses and provide empowerment with job training to improve the management and performance of HAIs, also to reinforce via constant support by the hospital.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to evaluate the preliminary effects of school-based short term mental health awareness and school bullying prevention programs. Methods : From April to December 2013, the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Promotion team of Seoul National Hospital conducted school-based short term social skill training (N=56, 4 sessions), mental health awareness (N=84, 4 sessions) and school bullying prevention programs (N=171, 1 session) in elementary and junior high schools located in Seoul. The changes in the subjects before and after the program were assessed. Results : The social skills training program improved the 'helping' behaviors in boys (t=-2.355, p<.05) and 'sharing' (t=-3.223, p<.01), 'cooperation' (t=-2.235, p<.05), and 'comforting' (t=-2.830, p<.01) behaviors in girls, assessed using the Prosocial Behavior Questionnaire. The mental health awareness program improved 'general health awareness' (t=2.620, p<.05), measured using the Korean General Health Questionnaire. The school bullying prevention program resulted in decreased 'self esteem' (t=3.769, p<.01), measured using the Self Esteem Scale and decreased 'anger' (t=4.198, p<.01), assessed using the Novaco Anger Scale. Conclusion : The results of our preliminary analysis suggest that school-based mental health awareness and school bullying prevention programs may be effective even when conducted for a short term. Future investigation is necessary in order to validate the long term effects of these programs.
The aim of this study is to provide basic data in establishing marketing strategies for hospital by analyzing effective public relations of hospital through attitude and awareness on medical public relations by employee of hospital. The awareness on medical public relations by employee of hospitals were highest among aged 50s or above and above university graduates from the level of education, and from hospital management from types of duties and from those who have worked for more than 10 years. The methods medical public relations positively regarded by employee of hospitals were 'Appearing at health programs' followed by 'Periodicals like magazines and books', 'Issuing of hospital bulletins to homes of patients visiting hospitals'.
This study with emphasis on protecting human rights of people with mental disorder investigated human rights awareness among mental health workers and identify factors affecting their awareness. Questionnaires were sent out to employees working in mental health facilities in all parts of the country and of those 1094 were used to analyze. According to the analysis, employees' human rights awareness was ranked highest in the areas of occupational therapy and lowest in the areas of admission and discharge. Those who are women, aged between 30 and 40, highly educated, with long tenure, employed as social workers and working at rehabilitation programs presented high awareness of human rights so did employees with license in mental health and training experience in human rights. The result also presented negative correlation between employees' human rights awareness and their prejudice against people with mental disorder. Through this study, guidelines will be set up to help employees acknowledge the importance of human rights awareness and raise their awareness to promote and practice human rights of people with mental disorder.
The purpose of this study is to discover the influence of customer's awareness toward corporate social responsibility(CSR) activities to service quality perception of the hospital. The survey was conducted on 211 patients at the general hospital in Seoul from April 2 to 30 in 2012. For the statistical analysis of data, ttest, ANOVA, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis were implemented. The results of the study were as follows. First, The personal tendency toward CSR was different by social groups. The elderly showed more tendency toward CSR. Second, there was a statistical significant relationship between the personal tendency toward CSR and the number of perceived CSR activities. Third, the effects of CSR activities were different from the perception of service quality. The awareness of volunteering social activities turned out to be negative factor of service quality perception.
