The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the Nature-friendly program on children's Emotional Intelligence. The subjects of this study were two groups( experimental group and non experimental group). Each group consists of 30(8 years olds) elementary school children in Seoul. Examination of Emotional Intelligence was applied to determine the homogeneity of 2 groups. Experimental group received 10 Nature-friendly programs for 15 weeks from July 2004 to October 2004. After Nature-friendly programs ended, post examination of Emotional Intelligence was applied. The result of this research was as follow. When Nature-friendly programs was applied, there were significant differences in the degree of emotional intelligence in the experimental group. Children who were involved in nature-friendly program increased in emotional intelligence. Nature-friendly program was effective in the sub-factors of self-awareness, self-regulation, other-awareness, other-regulation of emotional intelligence.
The study was done to investigate the mediating effects of communication ability on the relationship among self-awareness, empathy, emotional intelligence and interpersonal competence of nursing students. Data on subject's self-awareness, empathy, emotional intelligence and interpersonal competence were collected using a structured self-reporting questionnaire. During September and December 2019, data were collected from 282 nursing students in J and K cities. Data were analyzed using three-step mediated regression analysis with the SPSS WIN 21.0 programs. Self-awareness, empathy, emotional intelligence and communication ability were positively correlated with interpersonal competence of nursing students. Also, communication ability had a partial mediating effect on the relationship among self-awareness, empathy, emotion intelligence and interpersonal competence. These finding indicate that it will be more effective to education strategies that can increase self-awareness, empathy, emotional intelligence and communication ability together when developing education programs that improve interpersonal competence.

This study examined the relationship between internet ethics, self-control, nursing professionalism, and patient privacy awareness among nursing students with clinical practice experience, and attempted to provide basic data for the development of patient privacy awareness improvement programs reflecting the flow of information age. The data collection period was from November 20 to December 15, 2023. The questionnaires of 142 nursing students who agreed to participate in this study and were enrolled in D and C universities in Daejeon Metropolitan City and Cheongju City were analyzed. The results showed that nursing professionalism and self-control were the influential factors on nursing students' perception of patient privacy. The explanatory power of these variables was 24%. In conclusion, in order to improve the patient privacy awareness of nursing students, it is necessary to explore ways to promote the ethical awareness of internets and develop educational programs to increase nursing professionalism.

The incidence of vivax malaria in Korea was reduced to a low plateau. For successful elimination of vivax malaria, socio-behavioral changes in the communities are essential. This study aimed to figure out awareness of the inhabitants on the vivax malaria endemicity. The 407 participants including vivax malaria patients and uninfected inhabitants in Gimpo- and Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do, known as high-risk areas in Korea. We used a community-based study design and non-probability sampling method using primary data. Except for the perception about the public health facilities' capability to cope with anti-malaria programs, the 2 groups of participants shared the same level of awareness about public promotional and educational measures and opinions for malaria elimination from the community. Thus, our future goals for malaria prevention and elimination are to develop more active and well-organized community-based education and evaluation programs collaborating with the community healthcare authorities and local governments.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of entrepreneurship on entrepreneuship education and the social perception of entrepreneurship. As a result, we found that social awareness, entrepreneurship education, and entrepreneurship all had a significant influence on the intention of entrepreneurship. Positive social atmosphere for entrepreneurship induces interest in entrepreneurship education and forms a virtuous cycle structure that fosters entrepreneurship through entrepreneuship education. In addition, the introduction of diverse programs that encourage entrepreneurship should enhance the attractiveness of promising talent to enter the entrepreneurial market.
Purpose: This study aimed to identify the factors influencing positive subjective health awareness of middle school-age multicultural adolescents in Korea. Methods: This study used data from the fourth to sixth waves of the Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study conducted by the National Youth Policy Institute. In this study, a panel logit model analysis was performed using the Eviews 8.0 program (p<.050). Results: Socioeconomic status (r=.02, t=2.13, p=.033), body satisfaction (r=.71, t=1.97, p=.048), and depression (r=-.74, t=2.35, p=.018) influenced positive subjective health awareness in multicultural adolescents. When multicultural characteristics were entered into a statistical model with environmental and personal characteristics, multicultural characteristics did not have a significant influence on positive subjective health awareness. Conclusion: Environmental, personal, and multicultural characteristics were related to positive subjective health awareness in multicultural adolescents; thus, an integrated approach considering those variables is recommended. Nursing interventions and educational programs are needed to improve the psychological status of multicultural adolescents and reduce prejudice about them. In addition, nurses need to be sensitive to multicultural characteristics and the developmental characteristics of multicultural adolescents.
Objectives : This study was performed to understand smoking condition and to investigate the relations among knowledge regarding smoking and oral hygiene, awareness of anti-smoking policy, and self-esteem, to provide fundamental basis, developing programs for smoking prevention and anti-smoking. Methods : From September 7, 2010 to September 16, 2010, questionaire survey was conducted for 566 female university students studying dental hygienics at a local district in Jeollanam-do. Collected data was analyzed by Chi-square test, t-test, one way ANOVA, Scheffe multiple range test, Perason's correlation test, and stepwise multiple regression test. Results : 1. Smoking condition of study subjects on general characteristics showed 17.1%, where 14.0% of previous smoking history, and 68.9% of currently nonsmoker. 2. Analysis on the knowledge related to smoking and oral hygiene, awareness of anti-smoking policy, and self esteem on the general characteristics of study subjects have shown better awareness of anti-smoking policy in non-alcoholics. Significant difference was found in knowledge about smoking and awareness of anti-smoking policy according to current resident status, but no difference found in self-esteem. Higher academic grade was related to higher awareness of anti-smoking policy and better ics. aalcell. Better health, but no diffeoral hygiene were related to better awareness of anti-smoking policy, and bewhich were statistically significant. Favorable interpersonal self-estehip was related to better awareness of anti-smoking policy. 3. Analysis on knowledge regarding smoking related health and oral hygiene, awareness of anti-smoking policy, and self-esteem showed higher level of anti-smoking knowledge in non-smoking group(60.44) compared to currently smoking group or group with previous history of smoking, and better awareness of anti-smoking policy in non-smoking group(53.54) than other groups, which was statistically significant. 4. Correlation analysis among smoking related knowledge, awareness of anti-smoking policy, and self-esteem has found relatively high correlation between smoking related knowledge and awareness of anti-smoking policy, which was statistically significant(r=0.481, p<0.001). 5. Among factors influencing awareness of anti-smoking policy, higher level of smoking related knowledge and satisfaction to specialty was related to higher awareness of anti-smoking policy which was lower in current smoker than past smoker, and higher academic grade was related to higher awareness of anti-smoking policy. Conclusions : Following results emphasize the need to establish a novel curriculum by which effective programs for smoking prevention and education of anti-smoking specialist could be provided as well as promoting coaching anti-smoking activity.
Purpose: This paper is a review of interventions designed to promote self-awareness in the nursing area. The specific purpose was to analyze the general characteristics of self-awareness intervention studies, intervention contents, and the effects of the studies in order to present basic information for developing self-awareness interventions in the nursing area. Methods: Using "nurse/nursing" and "self-awareness" as key words, the researchers searched six electronic databases. The method proposed by Whittemore and Knafl was used. Results: Seventeen studies met the inclusion criteria. The most common research design was quasi-experimental. Nine quasi-experimental studies (52.9%), 7 qualitative studies (41.2%), and 1 mixed methodology study (5.9%) were analyzed. Most studies used group intervention and student nurses as participants. The interventions were revealed to be effective in enhancing participants' self-awareness. The reflection method was used in most intervention approaches. Conclusion: To provide therapeutic nursing care, having self-awareness is important. Future research with well-designed clinical trials applying self-awareness intervention needs to be conducted to enhance self-awareness in the nursing area.

This study is on capacity building and attitude to work of librarians in Edo State public libraries, Nigeria. Investigation was on the capacity building programs in the Edo State public libraries, the levels of librarians' awareness and participation in the programs, methods of building the capacity programs, influence on the librarians' attitudes to work and factors militating against the programs. Descriptive survey design was adopted for the study and the entire population of 23 librarians were used. Results indicate that the capacity building programs in the library include computer literacy skills, online public access catalogue (OPAC), Internet collection management and general trends in librarianship. The methods used in building the capacity programs in the library include conferences, workshops/seminars, on-the-job and internally organized courses. Respondents indicated very low level of participation in the programs and a negative influence of the programs on their attitudes to work. Various problems were identified as militating against the capacity building programs and solutions were suggested.
This study with emphasis on protecting human rights of people with mental disorder investigated human rights awareness among mental health workers and identify factors affecting their awareness. Questionnaires were sent out to employees working in mental health facilities in all parts of the country and of those 1094 were used to analyze. According to the analysis, employees' human rights awareness was ranked highest in the areas of occupational therapy and lowest in the areas of admission and discharge. Those who are women, aged between 30 and 40, highly educated, with long tenure, employed as social workers and working at rehabilitation programs presented high awareness of human rights so did employees with license in mental health and training experience in human rights. The result also presented negative correlation between employees' human rights awareness and their prejudice against people with mental disorder. Through this study, guidelines will be set up to help employees acknowledge the importance of human rights awareness and raise their awareness to promote and practice human rights of people with mental disorder.
