The Korean Metaphonological Assessment, adapted from the Metaphonological Abilities Battery (MAB; Hesketh, 2000b) was administered to examine the development of metaphonological skills of 60 normally developing Korean pre-school children aged from 3 to 6. The tasks were specifically designed to evaluate their skills to detect rhymes, onsets, and segments. A gradual improvement of total scores was observed in children from 3 to 5, with evidence for developmental refinements of metaphonological abilities in the ages of 5 and 6. Subjects were found to develop segmenting skills at a relatively early age and gradually progressed toward detecting onsets and then rhymes. The differences in the order of development from the previous studies with English-speaking children were discussed. This preliminary study also aimed to provide foundational information for investigating the link between expressive phonological impairments, metaphonolgocial skills, and literacy in Korean-speaking children.

This study aims to review the reality of local educational officials in technical post, to investigate their needs and awareness for newly changing social environment, and to inspire them with alternatives and strategies for reforming and restructuring their organization. It examines and analyses the strong points and weak points of the organization, the methods for improving the operation systems and organizational structures and the problems in the personnel management in officialdom, especially unfairness between the executive and the technical officials through a questionnaire and interview. This study ascertains that most of the technical officials consider expert knowledge and experience as their strong point and think the negative image against its group as their weak point for the organizational development. Specially this article indicates that they are not satisfied with the job conditions and want to shift to the official in executive post.

It is a global consent that we should conserve our energy consumption, due to our awareness to the environmental problems and the limitedness of the natural resource. In the country, the level of energy consumption is more than it is needed, according to its living standard and the proportion of resources imported from other countries. Educational program focused on energy conservation is essential to overcome these problems. This paper outlines a basic study on the development of an energy conservation education program for children. This program makes students aware of the importance and difficulties in energy conservation. The students can then make their own contribution and besides circulation of resources and improvement of health problems.

Recently, awareness of noise is increased and high performance sound insulation performance wall is designed. But in spite of installing high performance sound insulation performance wall, sound insulation performance in space is reduced by door. In this study, Sound insulation performance of doors which commonly used in buildings was measured to analyze current situation in the field and effect of method which increase sound insulation performance is analyzed quantitatively. As a result, sound insulation performance of doors which commonly used in buildings is FSTC 17~29 and can be increased about 2~3 dB by install rubber seal or mohair.

The construction industry has the most safety accidents among domestic industries. Special care must be taken because disasters in the construction industry lead to social problems caused by huge property losses and casualties. As a result of this, there is a growing awareness of disasters occurring in the construction industry, and government departments are tightening regulations on safety management. In particular, the OSHA(Occupational Safety and Health Agency) focuses on the expansion of protection targets and the clarification of responsibility in the full amendment OSHA. As a result, a study that focuses on safety management by client's responsibility is needed. In this study, the project performance capability assessment of construction project management contractors, which is being carried out with uniform assessment criteria without considering the characteristics of the construction project, is considered and all the amendments to the OSHA are considered, and the factors were derived for improvement measures.

This study presents an improved inspection system for slopes adjacent to educational facilities. For this, field investigations for 5 schools and 3 universities were performed to analyze the engineering stability of infrastructures, which ensure the safety of students and educational officers. Educational laws and the relevant enforcement are reviewed to understand the problems of current laws and enforcement. The results reveal that the engineering measures and reinforcement are required for the slopes of 36%. Also, the improvement of social awareness and regular inspection is needed to maintain the educational infrastructures. The suggested inspection system includes the fundamental and detailed checklists and guidance for non-engineering specialists.

This study is to investigate the degree of field awareness of how each provision of the Serious Disaster Punishment Act will affect accident prevention. As a result of conducting a survey of construction site workers, it was analyzed that construction site workers had a low sense of safety and did not voluntarily engage in safety activities. And it can be seen that they are taking a very passive position that it is efficient to implement safety under the supervision of the supervisor. Workers who need voluntary construction site safety activities are most aware of the situation at the site, but the problem was pointed out as "lack of procedures for listening to opinions and preparing improvement measures" for these problems. Future research is needed to see if this is a problem for individual workers or for those in charge of safety and health who do not correct it even though active opinions have been submitted.

This study analyzed the factors affecting the educational effect of safety innovation education for management of public institutions. A survey was conducted on 294 CEOs and executive directors of public institutions (divided into construction sites, workplaces, and research facilities) subject to the safety management rating system to understand the impact of educational participants' characteristics and behavioral intentions after safety innovation education. As a result of statistical analysis, it was found that the executive director had a higher behavioral intention than the CEO, and the education quality, education instructor, and educational environment all had a significant positive (+) effect on the behavioral intention. This study can be used as basic data for further research related to safety innovation education for management of public institutions

The study aimed to qualitatively examine middle school students' engagement in distance instruction during the COVID-19 pandemic. The participants comprised 119 students from a girls' middle school in Seoul, South Korea. To gain an in-depth understanding of the students' experiences, we collected their reflective journals, which included structured items about their learning engagement at three timepoints in 2020: April, July, and December. The following are the results: 10 themes and 18 concepts were derived, and they were integrated into causal conditions (sudden transition due to COVID-19), contextual condition (technology readiness, school education context), central phenomena (high level of behavioral engagement, low emotional engagement), interventional conditions (recognizing the potential of online learning, situational awareness about COVID-19 and online learning), action/interaction phenomena (development and use of self-regulated learning strategies), and consequences (changes in practices and perception towards online learning). Based on the findings, engagement patterns of the participants were classified into five types: proactive, conservative, receptive, reactive, passive learners. The present study demonstrated important findings that are essential for the improvement and development of engaging online learning strategies in the future.

현재 대한민국에서는 게임 산업으로 벌어들이는 외화가 많고 게임 산업이 규모가 큼에도 게임 규제에 관련된 법안을 계속하여 발의, 채택하는 모습을 보이고 있다. 뉴스를 검색해 보아도 게임이 사회적으로 도움이 되거나 게임으로 긍정적인 효과를 보았다는 기사는 찾아보기 힘든 상황이다. 본 논문에서는 게임에 사용되는 기술들의 발전으로 게임의 역할이 늘어났던 기존 사례와 앞으로의 기술 발전으로 늘어갈 게임의 역할들을 분석, 제시하여 게임 산업이 가질 수 있는 큰 잠재능력과 발전 가능성을 정리하고자 한다.
