진동하는 사각날개의 날개끌 와류 구조에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Structure of Tip Vortex Generated by an Oscillating Rectangular Hydrofoil)

  • Evolution of the unsteady three-dimensional tip vortex in the wake field of a rectangular NACA 0012 hydrofoil in pitching motion is investigated. Measurements were made in CWC using PIV. A hydrofoil has an aspect ratio of 5 with chord length of 1 Oem. Pitching angle and mean angle of attack were set to $\pm$ $5^{\circ}$ and $10^{\circ}$, respectively. Frequency of oscillation was varied from 0.1 Hz to 1 Hz in order to study the effect of unsteadiness imposed by various frequencies, which correspond to the reduced frequency of K=0.1, 0.21, 0.52 and 1.05. Reynolds number based on chord length and free-stream velocity was $30\times$$10^{4}$ Phase-averaging technique was employed. Unsteadiness and variation of the size and characteristics of tip vortex at different reduced frequency were discussed.

통계오차를 고려한 사면안정 신뢰성 해석 (Reliability Analysis of Slope Stability with Sampling Related Uncertainty)

  • 다양한 불확실성을 체계적으로 반영하는 신뢰성 기반 해석기법을 사면안정 해석의 한 형식으로 제시한다. 통계오차, 공간 변동성, 그리고 공간 평균의 효과를 고려할 수 있는 지반특성 표현식이 사용되었다. 여러 가지 형식의 지반특성 표현식을 이용하여 사면안정 신뢰성 해석을 수행한 결과 통계오차, 공간적 상관성, 그리고 조건부 해석기법을 사용할 경우가 기존의 단순 확률변수 기법에 비해 상당히 작은 파괴확률을 제시한다는 사실이 밝혀졌다. 이 결과는 사면안정 해석에서 공간적 변동성과 통계오차가 합리적으로 고려되어야 한다는 점을 제시한다.

Study on the size reduction factor of extreme wind pressure of facade cladding of high-rise buildings with square section

  • The effect of cladding panel size on the size reduction factor (SRF) of extreme area-averaging wind pressure (EAWP) on the facades of a high-rise building is often ignored in previous studies. Based on wind tunnel tests, this study investigated the horizontal and vertical correlations of wind pressure on the facade claddings of square-section high-rise buildings. Then, the influencing parameters on the SRF of the EAWP on the cladding panels were analyzed, which were the panel area, panel width, panel length and building width. The results show clear regional distinctions in the correlation of wind pressures on the building facades and the rules of the horizontal and vertical correlations are remarkably different, which causes the cladding size ratio to impact the SRF significantly. Therefore, this study suggests the use of the non-dimensional comprehensive size parameter b𝜶h1-𝜶/B (𝜶 is the fitting parameter) determined by the cladding panel horizontal size b, cladding panel vertical size h and the building width B rather than the cladding panel area to describe the variation of the EAWP. Finally, some empirical formula for the SRF of the EAWP on the cladding of a high-rise building is proposed with the nondimensional comprehensive size parameter.

실린더형 패드와 평판 시험편간 프레팅 피로의 접촉폭 크기효과에 관한 평가 (Estimation on a Contact Size Effect in Fretting Fatigue Between Cylindrical Pad and Flat Specimen)

  • In general, fretting is a contact damage process due to micro-slip associated with small amplitude oscillatory movement between two surfaces in contact. Previous studies in fretting fatigue have observed a contact size effect related to contact width. The volume-averaging method of theoretically predicted contact stress fields was required to emulate experimental trends and to predict the observed contact size effects. This contact size effect is captured by the mean values of stresses and strains at the element integration points of FE model and two critical plane models (SWT, FS) in the present paper. It is shown that crack nucleation and fretting fatigue life can be predicted by the FE-based critical plane models.

초음파를 이용한 용접잔류응력 측정기술 (Welding Residual Stress Measurement by Ultrasonic Method)

  • Welding residual stress was measured by ultrasonic birefringence technique. Acoustoelastic constant was taken by averaging the values in the literature. The initial birefringence from prefered orientation of grains was measured. The EMAT transducers were used to remove couplant effect. The results show that the distribution and magnitude of welding residual stress from ultrasonic measurement are in good agreements with those from semi destructive hole drilling measurement.

A Preliminary Analysis of the Impact of Urban Green Spaces on the Urban Heat Island Effect Using a Temperature Map

  • Temperature is one of the main issues in climate change, and the urban heat island effect in highly developed urban areas is an important issue that we need to deal with. This study analyzed the extent of the cooling effects of urban green spaces. The study used a surface temperature map of Seoul. It found that the cooling effects of green space was observed within limited distances, although it varied a little depending on the parks investigated. The cooling effect distance ranged from 240m to 360m, averaging about 300m. It also found the size of an urban green space does not make much difference in cooling the surrounding areas. Although further investigation with diverse urban areas should be conducted on this matter, the results did imply that many small green spaces in the neighborhood are more effective than a single big green space in mitigating the heat island effects of cities.

콘크리트의 변형률국소화에 관한 해석적 연구 (Analytical Study on the Strain Localization of Concrete)

  • 콘크리트의 국소화현상은 콘크리트의 연화거동에 수반되어 변형이 국부적으로 집중되는 현상으로 콘크리트 구조물의 극한하중을 지배한다. 본 연구에서는 연화거동에 따른 변형률국소화현상을 일으키는 콘크리트를 국소영역과 비국소영역으로 나누어 모형화하였으며 불균질재료의 평균화개념을 이용하여 콘크리트의 국소화거동을 정식화하였다. 본 연구에서는 정식화된 모형을 사용하여 일축압축 및 일축인장하중을 받는 콘크리트의변형의 국소화 현상을 재현하였으며, 제안된 모형이 일축하중하의 콘크리트의 국소화거동을 잘 재현할 수 있음을 실제 실험결과와의 비교를 통하여 검증하였다. 해석결과로부터 일축압축하중하의 콘크리트의 국소영역의 크기는 콘크리트의 최대골재치수의 3배가 적당하고, 시편의 길이에 따른 콘크리트의 크기효과도 재현할 수 있음을 보였다. 또한 제안된 모형식에 직접인장시험에서 구해진 인장연화곡선의 사용이 일축인장하의 콘크리트의 국소화현상을 잘 표현하는데 적합함을 알 수 있었다.

Newmark-방식 강체블럭 변위해석에 대한 유연도의 영향 (EFFECT OF COMPLIANCE ON NEWMARK-TYPE RIGID BLOCK DEFORMATION ANALYSIS)

  • 지진으로 인해 사면에 발생한 영구적 변형 계산시 고려된 공간평균과 유연도의 영향을 조사하였다. 현재 변위계산에는 Newmark이 제안한 강체블럭해석기법이 이 기법의 효율적인 계산능력으로 인해 광범하게 사용되고 있다. 그러나 이 해석기법은 지진응답해석과 변위해석을 별도로 수행하는 소위 분리해석법을 채택하고 있다. 당초의 Newmark 해석기법은 활동토사를 강성체로 가정했으며 이로 인하여 비보수적 결과가 도출될 수 있다는 비판을 받아왔다. 본 논문은 Newmark-형식의 해석에서 강성체 가정의 영향을 검토하였다. 활동토사에 작용하는 지진하중의 전체 효과를 공간평균기법을 사용하여 평가하였으며 그 결과를 주파수 영역에서 분석하였다. 해석결과로부터 활동토사의 유연도 수준을 결정하는 경우 사용할 수 있는 단순한 지표를 제시하였다.

Post Silicon Management of On-Package Variation Induced 3D Clock Skew

  • A 3D stacked IC is made by multiple dies (possibly) with heterogeneous process technologies. Therefore, die-to-die variation in 2D chips renders on-package variation (OPV) in a 3D chip. In spite of the different variation effect in 3D chips, generally, 3D die stacking can produce high yield due to the smaller individual die area and the averaging effect of variation on data path. However, 3D clock network can experience unintended huge clock skew due to the different clock propagation routes on multiple stacked dies. In this paper, we analyze the on-package variation effect on 3D clock networks and show the necessity of a post silicon management method such as body biasing technique for the OPV induced 3D clock skew control in 3D stacked IC designs. Then, we present a parametric yield improvement method to mitigate the OPV induced 3D clock skew.

필라멘트 와인딩된 링시편을 이용한 인장특성 평가 (Evaluation of Tensile Properties Using Filament Wound Ring Specimens)

  • In this study, tensile strength and modulus were evaluated for a filament wound ring specimen by split disk test and compared with the theoretical values obtained by the rule of mixtures. The circumferentially wound ring specimens were prepared from 4 types of material systems. The results showed that the measured strengths of the composite systems were considerably lower than the theoretical values due to the local bending stresses around the split disk edges. for the measurement of elastic moduli of the filament wound ring specimens, the effect of friction on the strain of the ring must be taken into account. But the effect of friction between the split disk fixture and the ring specimen can be eliminated by averaging the moduli for loading and unloading state with maintaining the same crosshead rates. The measured elastic moduli of ring specimens showed very good agreement with the theoretical values.
