RDE Characteristics of Euro 6 Light Duty Diesel Vehicles Regarding to Driving Conditions (주행조건에 따른 유로6 경유자동차의 RDE 특성)

  • In order to improve the quality of air in urban areas, the emission regulations are being strengthened by the government. The on-road test of light-duty vehicles was started with PEMS because certification test mode does not sufficiently reflect on-road conditions. Therefore, The PEMS-based test was implemented from Sep. 2017 in Europe and Korea. However, this is lack of data on various on-road patterns in Korea. The purpose of the present study has analyzed the effect of speed per acceleration and acceleration on NOx emission on-road driving. The test route consisted of urban, rural, and motorway in Seoul. This study has been conducted by Euro-6 vehicles using on SCR system with PEMS. The on-road emission characteristics were evaluated by moving averaging windows (MAW) method. In results, RDE-NOx by severe driving pattern has been 1.4 times higher than soft driving pattern NIER Route 1.

Growth of Larval Sweetfish Plecoglossus altivelis Fed Moina macrocopa (물벼룩 Moina macrocopa 급이가 은어 Plecoglossus altivelis 자어의 성장에 미치는 영향)

  • The effect of live food and commercial diet on sweetfish Plecoglossus altivelis culture was assessed by determining the daily growth rate and feed conversion ratio. After feeding for 8 weeks, the Moina macrocopa diet resulted in a higher growth rate of 5.101 compared to commercial (3.441) and Artemia (2.729) diets. In addition fish fed the M. macrocopa diet had the weight gain, averaging 41.29 g at the end of the experiment. The content of n-3 highly unsaturated fatty acids (HUFA) was highest in the commercial diet, while free fatty acids were not detected in the M. macrocopa diet. Triglycerides, the energy source in fishes, constituted 40.0% of the M. macrocopa diet, which was significantly higher than in the commercial and Artemia diets at 20.0 and 12.0%, respectively These results indicate that freshwater M. macrocopa can be used as feed for sweetfish larvae, even without docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) enrichment from Artemia.

  • Flow characteristics of the inflow ahead of a rotating propeller attached to a container ship model were investigated using a two-frame PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry) technique. Ensemble-averaged mean velocity fields were measured at four different blade phases. The mean velocity fields show the acceleration of inflow due to the rotating propeller and the velocity deficit in the near-wake region. The axial velocity distribution of inflow in the upper plane of propeller is quite different from that in the lower plane due to the thick hull boundary layer. The propeller inflow also shows asymmetric axial velocity distribution in the port and starboard side. As the inflow moves toward the propeller, the effect of phase angle variation of propeller blade on the inflow becomes dominant. In the upper plane above the propeller axis the inflow has very low axial velocity and large turbulent kinetic energy, compared with the lower plane. The boundary layer developed along the bottom surface of stern hull forms a strong shear layer affecting vortex structure of the propeller near-wake.

  • A practical statistical approach that can be used to model various sources of uncertainty systematically is presented in the context of reliability analysis of slope stability. New expressions for probabilistic characterization of soil properties incorporate sampling and measurement errors, as well as spatial variability and its reduced variance due to spatial averaging. The stochastic nature of seismic loading is studied by generating a large series of hazard-compatible artificial motions, and by using them in subsequent response analyses. The analyses indicate that in a seismically less active region such as the Korean Peninsular, a moderate variability in soil properties has an effect as large as the characterization of earthquake hazard on the computed risk of slope failure and excessive slope deformations.

  • 본(本) 연구(硏究)는 양도소득세제(讓渡所得稅制)의 현황과 문제점을 검토함으로써 양도소득세제(讓渡所得稅制)의 개선방향(改善方向)을 제시하는 것을 기본목적(基本目的)으로 하고 있는바 특히 양도소득세(讓渡所得稅)의 공급동결효과(供給凍結效果)(lock-in effect)에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 부동산처분시(不動産處分時)에 부과되는 양도소득세(讓渡所得稅)는 흔히 공급동결효과를 유발함으로써 부동산거레를 침체시키는 한편 부동산가격(不動産價格)을 높이는 결과를 가져올 수 있다는 지적이 제기되고 있는데 본(本) 연구(硏究)에서는 이를 자료를 통하여 확인하였다. 또한 본(本) 연구(硏究)에서는 양도소득세(讓渡所得稅)의 공급동결효과(供給凍結效果)가 부동산 보유기간의 장기화에 따라 세부담(稅負擔)이 감소하는 데 기인하는 바 큼을 밝히고 양도소득세(讓渡所得稅)의 공급동결효과를 완화하고 더 나아가 세부담의 수평적 수직적 형평을 기한다는 측면에서 보유기간에 관계없이 세부담이 균등화되도록 양도소득세제(讓渡所得稅制)가 개선되어야 한다고 주장하였다. 이 밖에 본(本) 연구(硏究)에서 제시한 양도소득세제(讓渡所得稅制)의 개선방향은 첫째로 양도소득세(讓渡所得稅) 과세대상자산(課稅對象資産)의 범위를 확대하며, 둘째로 비과세(非課稅) 및 감면규정(減免規定)을 축소조정(縮小調整)하고, 셋째로 양도차익산정기(讓渡差益算定基準)을 일원화(一元化) 현실화(現實化)하며, 넷째로 부동산공부(不動産公簿)와 사실(事實)의 일치(一致)를 통해 부동산거래(不動産去來)의 포착률을 제고시키고, 끝으로 평균소득화(平均所得化)(income averaging)를 전제로 양도소득(讓渡所得)을 통상소득에 산입(算入) 종합과세(綜合課稅)하는 것이다.

Gait Recognition Algorithm Based on Feature Fusion of GEI Dynamic Region and Gabor Wavelets

  • The paper proposes a novel gait recognition algorithm based on feature fusion of gait energy image (GEI) dynamic region and Gabor, which consists of four steps. First, the gait contour images are extracted through the object detection, binarization and morphological process. Secondly, features of GEI at different angles and Gabor features with multiple orientations are extracted from the dynamic part of GEI, respectively. Then averaging method is adopted to fuse features of GEI dynamic region with features of Gabor wavelets on feature layer and the feature space dimension is reduced by an improved Kernel Principal Component Analysis (KPCA). Finally, the vectors of feature fusion are input into the support vector machine (SVM) based on multi classification to realize the classification and recognition of gait. The primary contributions of the paper are: a novel gait recognition algorithm based on based on feature fusion of GEI and Gabor is proposed; an improved KPCA method is used to reduce the feature matrix dimension; a SVM is employed to identify the gait sequences. The experimental results suggest that the proposed algorithm yields over 90% of correct classification rate, which testify that the method can identify better different human gait and get better recognized effect than other existing algorithms.

Deformation estimation of truss bridges using two-stage optimization from cameras

  • Structural integrity can be accessed from dynamic deformations of structures. Moreover, dynamic deformations can be acquired from non-contact sensors such as video cameras. Kanade-Lucas-Tomasi (KLT) algorithm is one of the commonly used methods for motion tracking. However, averaging throughout the extracted features would induce bias in the measurement. In addition, pixel-wise measurements can be converted to physical units through camera intrinsic. Still, the depth information is unreachable without prior knowledge of the space information. The assigned homogeneous coordinates would then mismatch manually selected feature points, resulting in measurement errors during coordinate transformation. In this study, a two-stage optimization method for video-based measurements is proposed. The manually selected feature points are first optimized by minimizing the errors compared with the homogeneous coordinate. Then, the optimized points are utilized for the KLT algorithm to extract displacements through inverse projection. Two additional criteria are employed to eliminate outliers from KLT, resulting in more reliable displacement responses. The second-stage optimization subsequently fine-tunes the geometry of the selected coordinates. The optimization process also considers the number of interpolation points at different depths of an image to reduce the effect of out-of-plane motions. As a result, the proposed method is numerically investigated by using a truss bridge as a physics-based graphic model (PBGM) to extract high-accuracy displacements from recorded videos under various capturing angles and structural conditions.

Post Prandial Plasma Free Arginine Concentrations Increase in Rainbow Trout Fed Arginine-deficient Diets

  • Three experiments were conducted to determine the effects of dietary arginine concentrations on plasma free amino acid (PAA) concentrations in rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss (Walbaum). The first experiment was conducted to determine appropriate post-prandial and food deprivation sampling times in dorsal aorta cannulated rainbow trout averaging 519${\pm}$9.5 g (mean${\pm}$SD) at $16^{\circ}C$. Blood samples were taken at 0, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 24 h after feeding (0 and 24 h blood samples were taken from the same group of fish). PAA concentrations increased by 2 h post-feeding and the concentration of all essential amino acids except histidine peaked at 5 h and returned to 0 time values by 24 h. In the second experiment dorsal aorta cannulated rainbow trout averaging 528${\pm}$11.3 g (mean${\pm}$SD) were divided into 6 groups of 4 fish to study the effect of dietary arginine levels on PAA. After 24 h food deprivation, each group of fish was fed one of six L-amino acid diets containing graded levels of arginine (0.48, 1.08, 1.38, 1.68, 1.98 or 2.58%) by intubation. Blood samples were taken at 0, 5 and 24 h after feeding. Post-prandial (5 h after feeding) plasma-free arginine concentrations (PParg) showed a breakpoint at 1.03% arginine in the diet and post-absorptive (24 h after feeding) plasma free-arginine concentrations (PAarg) showed a breakpoint at 1.38% arginine. PAarg increased linearly from fish fed diets containing arginine between 0.48% and 1.38%, and the concentrations remained constant from fish fed diets containing arginine at or above 1.38%, but were all below PParg at all time points. Results of the third experiment confirm the results that PParg concentrations from fish fed arginine deficient diets were higher than PAarg (0 or 24 h values). Thus, in contrast to mammals and birds, the PParg when arginine is present in the diet as the most limiting amino acid such that it severely limits growth, increases in plasma rather than decreases.

Influence of Water Temperature on Growth of Yearling Sea Bass, Lateolabrax japonicus in Indoor Tank (농어, Lateolabrax japonicus 유어의 성장에 있어 사육 수온의 영향)

  • Two experiments were conducted to study the effect of temperature on growth and survival of yearling sea bass, Lateolabrax japonicus reared from 3$^{\circ}C$ to 33$^{\circ}C$. In the I st experiment, we used yearlings fish averaging 19.2$\pm$0.2 cm/fish (Mean$\pm$S.E.M.) of total length (TL) and 67.0$\pm$1.8 g/fish (Mean$\pm$S.E.M.) of body weight (BW), and we cultured the fish at 3, 6, 9, 12 and 17$^{\circ}C$ for 90 days. In the 2nd experiment, the experimental fish averaging 24.9$\pm$0.1 cm/fish (Mean$\pm$S.E.M) of TL and I 46.4$\pm$3.0 g/fish (Mean$\pm$S.E.M) of BW were reared at 21,24,27,30 and 33$^{\circ}C$ for 90 days. During these experiments, we measured food intake, feed efficiency, survival and growth (TL and BW) in the both experiments. Although food intake of the yearling increased with the temperature, the feed efficiency was only enhanced within the temperature range, from 21 to 27$^{\circ}C$. Growth of yearling was normal within the temperature range from 17 to 3$0^{\circ}C$, but it was stoped or reduced in other temperatures. Survival rate was significantly reduced in 3$^{\circ}C$ from the 1st experiment and in 30 and 33$^{\circ}C$ from the 2nd experiment, but there was no significant difference among other groups.

Pattern classification of the synchronized EEG records by an auditory stimulus for human-computer interface (인간-컴퓨터 인터페이스를 위한 청각 동기방식 뇌파신호의 패턴 분류)

  • In this paper, we present the method to effectively extract and classify the EEG caused by only brain activity when a normal subject is in a state of mental activity. We measure the synchronous EEG on the auditory event when a subject who is in a normal state thinks of a specific task, and then shift the baseline and reduce the effect of biological artifacts on the measured EEG. Finally we extract only the mental task signal by averaging method, and then perform the recognition of the extracted mental task signal by computing the AR coefficients. In the experiment, the auditory stimulus is used as an event and the EEG was recorded from the three channel $C_3-A_1$, $C_4-A_2$ and $P_Z-A_1$. After averaging 16 times for each channel output, we extracted the features of specific mental tasks by modeling the output as 12th order AR coefficients. We used total 36th order coefficient as an input parameter of the neural network and measured the training data 50 times per each task. With data not used for training, the rate of task recognition is 34-92 percent on the two tasks, and 38-54 percent on the four tasks.
