Purpose: Triangulation is the process of determining the location of a point by measuring angles to it from known points at either end of a fixed baseline. This point can be fixed as the third point of a triangle with one known side and two known angles. The aim of this study was to find a clinically adaptable method for applying an optical tracking navigation system to orthognathic surgery and to estimate its accuracy of measuring the bone displacement by use of triangulation methods. Methods: In orthognathic surgery, the head position is not fixed as in neurosurgery, so that a head tracker is needed to establish the reference point on the head surface byusing an optical tracking system. However, the operation field is interfered by its bulkiness that makes its clinical use difficult. To solve this problem, we designed a method using an Aquaplast splinting material and a mini-screw in applying a head tracker on a patient's forehead. After that, we estimated the accuracy of measuring displacements of the ball marker by an optical tracking system with a conventional head tracker (Group A) and with a newly designed head tracker (Group B). Measured values of ball markers' displacements by each optical tracking system were compared with values obtained from fusion CT images for an estimation of accuracy. Results: The accuracy of the optical tracking system with a conventional head tracker (Group A) is not suitable for clinical usage. Measured and predictable errors are larger than 10 mm. The optical tracking system with a newly designed head tracker (Group B) shows 1.59 mm, 6.34 mm, and 9.52 mm errorsin threeclinical cases. Conclusion: Most errors were brought on mainly from a lack of reproducibility of the head tracker position. The accuracy of the optical tracking system with a newly designed head tracker can be a useful method in further orthognathic navigation surgery even though the average error is higher than 2.0 mm.
In this study, a modified ripple correlation control (RCC) maximum-power point-tracking (MPPT) algorithm is proposed for a single-stage single-phase voltage source inverter (VSI) on a grid-connected photovoltaic system (GCPVS). Unlike classic RCC methods, the proposed algorithm does not require high-pass and low-pass filters or the increment of the AC component filter function in the voltage control loop. A simple arithmetic mean function is used to calculate the average value of the photovoltaic (PV) voltage, PV power, and PV voltage ripples for the MPPT of the RCC method. Furthermore, a high-accuracy and high-precision MPPT is achieved. The performance of the proposed algorithm for the single-stage single-phase VSI GCPVS is investigated through simulation and experimental results.

In general, QRS duration represent a distance of Q start and S end point. However, since criteria of QRS duration are vague and Q, S point is not detected accurately, arrhythmia classification performance can be reduced. In this paper, we propose extraction of Q, S start and end point RS feature based on phase transition tracking method after we detected R wave that is large peak of electrocardiogram(ECG) signal. For this purpose, we detected R wave, from noise-free ECG signal through the preprocessing method. Also, we classified QRS pattern through differentiation value of ECG signal and extracted Q, S start and end point by tracking direction and count of phase based on R wave. The performance of R wave detection is evaluated by using 48 record of MIT-BIH arrhythmia database. The achieved scores indicate the average detection rate of 99.60%. PVC classification is evaluated by using 9 record of MIT-BIH arrhythmia database that included over 30 premature ventricular contraction(PVC). The achieved scores indicate the average detection rate of 94.12% in PVC.
This paper present box feature estimation from LiDAR point cluster using maximum likelihood Method. Previous LiDAR tracking method for autonomous driving shows high accuracy about velocity and heading of point cluster. However, Assuming the average position of a point cluster as the vehicle position has a lower accuracy than ground truth. Therefore, the box feature estimation algorithm to improve position accuracy of autonomous driving perception consists of two procedures. Firstly, proposed algorithm calculates vehicle candidate position based on relative position of point cluster. Secondly, to reflect the features of the point cluster in estimation, the likelihood of the particle scattered around the candidate position is used. The proposed estimation method has been implemented in robot operating system (ROS) environment, and investigated via simulation and actual vehicle test. The test result show that proposed cluster position estimation enhances perception and path planning performance in autonomous driving.
This paper describes a distance estimation method of object's motion in soccer image sequence by tracking field features. And we quantitatively evaluate the estimation accuracy We suppose that the input image sequence is taken with a camera on static axis and includes only zooming and panning transformation between frames. Adaptive template matching is adopted for non-rigid object tracking. For background compensation, feature templates selected from reference frame image are matched in following frames and the matched feature point pairs are used in computing Affine motion parameters. A perspective displacement field model is used for estimating the real distance between two position on Input Image. To quantitatively evaluate the accuracy of the estimation, we synthesized a 3 dimensional virtual stadium with graphic tools and experimented on the synthesized 2 dimensional image sequences. The experiment shows that the average of the error between the actual moving distance and the estimated distance is 1.84%.
A mathematical model is developed for thermal solution copolymerization of styrene and acrylonitrile in a continuous stirred tank reactor(CSTR). Computational studies are carried out with the continuous copolymerization system model developed in this work to give the monomer conversion, copolymer composition and the average molecular weights of the copolymer. By performing the dynamic analysis of the reaction system, the polymer properties against the changes in the operating conditions are determined quantitatively. The cascade PID and fuzzy controller show satisfactory performances for both set point tracking and disturbance rejection. Especially, the fuzzy controller is superior to the PID controller.

This thesis suggests a new algorithm to detects multiple moving objects using a CMODE(Correct Multiple Object DEtection) method in the color images acquired in real-time and to track the interested pedestrian using motion and hue information. The multiple objects are detected, and then shaking trees or moving cars are removed using structural characteristics and shape information of the man , the interested pedestrian can be detected, The first similarity judgment for tracking an interested pedestrian is to use the distance between the previous interested pedestrian's centroid and the present pedestrian's centroid. For the area where the first similarity is detected, three feature points are calculated using k-mean algorithm, and the second similarity is judged and tracked using the average hue value for the $3{\times}3$ area of each feature point. The zooming of camera is adjusted to track an interested pedestrian at a long distance easily and the FOV(Field of View) of camera is adjusted in case the pedestrian is not situated in the fixed range of the screen. As a experiment results, comparing the suggested CMODE method with the labeling method, an average approach rate is one fourth of labeling method, and an average detecting time is faster three times than labeling method. Even in a complex background, such as the areas where trees are shaking or cars are moving, or the area of shadows, interested pedestrian detection is showed a high detection rate of average 96.5%. The tracking of an interested pedestrian is showed high tracking rate of average 95% using the information of situation and hue, and interested pedestrian can be tracked successively through a camera FOV and zooming adjustment.

In this paper proposed method of maximum power point tracking using boost converter for a connected single phase inverter with photovoltaic system. The maximum power point tracking control is based on generated circuit control MOSFET switch of boost converter and single phase inverter uses predicted current control to control four IGBT's switch in full bridge. The predicted current control provide current with sinusoidal wave shape and inphase with voltage. The generation control circuit allows each photovoltaic module to operate independently at peak capacity, simply by detecting of the output power of the system. Furthermore, the generation control circuit attenuates low-frequency ripple voltage, which is caused by the full-bridge inverter, across the photovoltaic modules. Consequently, the output power of system is increased due to the increase in average power generated by the photovoltaic modules. The effectiveness of the proposed inverter system is confirmed experimentally and by means of simulation.
The present paper is concerned with the design of distributed sensors and actuators. Strain type sensors and actuators are considered with their intensity continuously distributed throughout a continuous structure. The sensors measure a weighted average of the strain tensor. As a starting point for their design we introduce the concept of collocated sensors and actuators as well as the so-called natural output. Then we utilize the principle of virtual work for an auxiliary quasi-static problem to assign a mechanical interpretation to the natural output of the sensors to be designed. Therefore, we take the virtual displacements in the principle of virtual work as that part of the displacement in the original problem, which characterizes the deviation from a desired one. We introduce different kinds of distributed sensors, each of them with a mechanical interpretation other than a weighted average of the strain tensor. Additionally, we assign a mechanical interpretation to the collocated actuators as well; for that purpose we use an extended body force analogy. The sensors and actuators are applied to solve the displacement tracking problem for continuous structures; i.e., the problem of enforcing a desired displacement field. We discuss feed forward and feed back control. In the case of feed back control we show that a PD controller can stabilize the continuous system. Finally, a numerical example is presented. A desired deflection of a clamped-clamped beam is tracked by means of feed forward control, feed back control and a combination of the two.
In this paper, we analysed RSS characteristics by external factors and presented an efficient algorithm for real-time location tracking and its hardware system. The proposed algorithm enhanced the ranging accuracy using Kalman Filter based on the RSS DB. The location tracking system that consists of the tag, AP(Access Point), a data collector(Data Receiver) with IEEE 802.15.4(ZigBee) network environment, and location tracking application that reveal locations of each tag is implemented for the test environment. The location tracking system presented in this paper is implemented with MSP430 microprocessor manufactured by TI(Texas Instrument), CC2420 RF chipset and the location tracking application. With the results of the experiment, the proposed algorithm and the system can achieve the efficiency and the accuracy of location tracking with the average error of 19.12cm, and its standard deviation of 5.31cm in outdoor circumstance. Also, the experimental result shows that exact tracking of position in indoor circumstance cannot achieve because of vulnerable RSS with external circumstance.
