This paper presents two-phase condensation heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of R32 and R454B as an alternative refrigerant to R410A in a 9.52 mm OD microfin tube. The test facility has a straight, horizontal test section with an active length of 2.0 m and is cooled by cold water circulated in a surrounding annular space. The heat transfer coefficients of the annular space were obtained using the modified Wilson plot method. Average condensation heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop data are presented at the condensation temperature of 35℃ for the range of mass flux 100-400 kg/m2s. The average condensation heat transfer coefficients of R32 refrigerant are 35-47% higher than R410A at the mass flux considered in the study, while R454B data are similar to R410A. The average pressure drop of R32 and R454B are much higher than R410A and they are 134-224% and 151-215% of R410A, respectively. R32 and R454B have relatively low GWP and high heat transfer characteristics, so they are suitable as alternatives for R410A.

Experimental results for forced convection condensation of non-azeotropic refrigerant mixtures inside a horizontal smooth tube are presented. The mixtures of R-22+R-134a and pure refrigerants R-22 and R-134a are used as the test fluids and a double pipe heat exchanger of 7.5mm ID and 4800mm long inside tube is used. The range of parameters are 100-300kg/h of mass flow rate, 0-1.0 of quality, and 0, 33, 50, 67, and 100 weight percent of R-22 mass fraction in the mixtures. The heat flux, vapor pressure, vapor temperature and tube wall temperature were measured. Using the data, the local and average heat transfer coefficients for the condensation have been obtained. In the same given experimental conditions, the liquid heat transfer coefficients for NARMs were considerally lower than that of the pure refrigerant of R-22 and R-134a. Local heat transfer characteristics for NARMs were different from pure refrigerant R-22 and R-134a. In some regions, local heat transfer coefficients for NARMs were increased in the following order ; Bottom$\rightarrow$Top$\rightarrow$Side. The condensation heat transfer coefficients for NARMs increased with mass velocity, heat flux, and quality, but were considerably lower than that of pure refigerant R-22 and R-134a.
Heat (mass) transfer characteristics have been investigated on the endwall of a large-scale linear turbine cascade passage under a combustor-level high free-stream turbulence with a large length scale. Local heat (mass) transfer coefficients are measured by using the naphthalene sublimation technique. The result shows that local heat (mass) transfer on the endwall is greatly enhanced in the central region of the turbine passage, but there is no noticeable change in the local heat (mass) transfer in the region suffering severe heat load. Under the high free-stream turbulence, the local heat (mass) transfer coefficient shows more uniform distribution and its average value across the whole endwall region is increased by 26% of that at low turbulence condition. The heat (mass) transfer data on the endwall strongly supports that well-organized vortices near the endwall tends to suffer an suppression by the high free-stream turbulence.

A single blow, transient testing method for determining the heat transfer characteristics of heat exchanger surfaces are presented. The exponential inlet temperature variations were made using screen mesh with small time constant and frontal velocities of the test section. The system is used to investigate the usefulness of a model with exponential inlet temperature variations. A data reduction program is developed to calculate the temporally and spatially averaged heat transfer coefficient using the measured disturbance and response of the fluid temperature. The results are compared with the existing theoretical and experimental data for parallel plate stacks. It was recommended to take an average for the time greater than the 99% of the final temperature had reached in order to obtain fairly good results.
Numerical study was performed to investigate the convective heat transfer of Al2O3/water nanofluid flowing through the concentric double pipe counterflow heat exchangers. Hot fluid flowing through the inner pipe transfers its heat to cooling fluid flowing in the outer pipe. Effects of important parameters such as hot and cold volume flow rates, fluid type in the outer and inner pipes, and nanoparticles concentration on the heat transfer and flow characteristics are investigated. The results indicated that the heat transfer performance increases with increasing the hot and cold volume flow rates, as well as the particle concentrations. When both outer and inner pipes are nanofluids with 8% nanoparticle volume concentration, nanofluids showed up to 17% better heat transfer rate than basic fluids. Also, the average heat transfer coefficient of the base fluid for annulus-side improved by 31%. Approximately 20% enhancement in the heat exchanger effectiveness can be achieved with the addition of 8% alumina particles in base fluid. But, addition of nanoparticles to the base fluid enhanced friction factor by about 196%.

This paper presents the experimental results of evaporation heat transfer coefficients of HC(e.g. R290 and R600a), R-22 as a HCFCs refrigerant in horizontal double pipe heat exchangers, having four different inner diameters of 10.07 mm and 6.54 mm respectively. The experiments of the evaporation process were conducted at mass flux of $35.5{\sim}210.4\;kg/m^2s$ and cooling capacity of $0.95{\sim}10.1\;kW$. The main results were summarized as follows : The average evaporation heat transfer coefficient of R-290 and R-600a was higher value than that of R-22. In comparison with R-22, the evaporation heat transfer coefficient of R-290 and 600a is approximately $56.7{\sim}70.1$ and $46.6{\sim}59.7%$ higher, respectively. In comparison with experimental data and some correlations, the evaporation heat transfer coefficients are well matched with the Kandlikar's correlation regardless of a type of refrigerants and tube diameters.

The purpose of this study is augmentation of heat transfer without additional power in two-dimensional impinging air jet. The technique of heat transfer augmentation used in this experiment is to place rod bundles in front of the flat heated surface. The effects of rod diameter, nozzle-to-target plate distance and the nozzle exit velocity on heat transfer have been investigated. The main conclusions obtained from this experiment are as follows. High heat transfer augmentation is achieved by means of flow acceleration and thinning of boundary layer by placing rod bundles in front of the flat plate. Average heat transfer coefficient becomes maximum in the case of H/B=10,D=4mm. For H/B=2,D=4mm, maximum heat transfer augmentation has been determined to be about 1.5 times larger than that of the flat plate. Heat transfer augmentation by placing the rod bundles at 12m/s is to be about 2 times more than increasing nozzle exit velocity from 12m/s to 18m/s.

An experimental study on the condensation heat transfer coefficients of R-22, R-290 and R-600a inside horizontal tube was performed. Heat transfer measurements were performed for smooth tube with inside diameter of 10.07 mm and outside diameter of 12.07 mm and inner grooved tube having 75 fins whose height is 0.25 mm. This study was performed for condensation temperatures were from 308 K to 323 K, and mass velocity of $51 kg/m^2s - 250kg/m^2s$. The test results showed that the local condensation heat transfer coefficients increased as the mass flux increased, and also the effect of mass flow rate on heat transfer coefficients of R-290 was less than R-22. In addition, heat transfer coefficient of R-22 increased to a larger extent than R-290 and R-600a as the mass flow rate increased. Average condensation heat transfer coefficients of natural refrigerants were superior to that of R-22. The present results had a good agreement with Cavallini-Zecchin's correlation for smooth and inner grooved tubes.
This research is to numerically investigate the convective cooling performance in the Disk brake. Research concentrates on the heat transfer coefficient and cooling performance which are selected with cooling local locations. Cooling performance of the Hole disk has been compared by Ventilated Disk. According to the results of heat transfer on the disk brake, activated velocity distributions more appear in the Hole disk. This is due to the fact that a number of hole units have exactly 120 on the surface of the hole disk. Therefore, velocity distributions of hole disk brake is better activated than Ventilated disk. According to the calculations of Nusselt number between surface and atmosphere in the interested cooling area, average value of cooling effect has been increased 13.5% by the hole disk at driving of speed 65 km/h situation and grown 18% by the hole disk at driving speed of 100 km/h. Due to the flow of air through the hole route, cooling performance of the hole disk was very excellent. In addition, cooling effect on edge of the bottom is better than the vicinity of center.
The objective of the present work is to examine the effect of inclined angle of channel with multi heat source on thermal stability of electronic equipment. The heat sources are mounted on both sides of channel walls by two kinds of configuration such as the zig-zag md symmetric on. Conductive heat transfer was estimated by using of thermocouples and heat flux sensor. Thus, convective heat transfer and mean Nusselt number could be obtained. With increased inclined angle, the convective heat transfer coefficient was decreased. When inclined angle was smaller than 30 degree, The average Nusselt number of Big-zag configuration was larger than that of symmetric. Furthermore, when protruding ration was 0.082, the temperature was strongly affected by inclined angle. whereas, when protruding ration was 0.25, the temperature was strongly affected by heat source configuration.
