전자빔 조사를 이용한 고분자량 혼성배열 폴리(비닐 알코올) 수화젤의 제조 (Preparation of High Molecular Weight Atactic Poly(vinyl alcohol) Hydrogel by Electron Beam Irradiation Technique)

  • 고분자량 폴리 (비닐 알코올) (poly(vinyl alcohol), PVA)에 전지빔 (electron beam, EB)을 조사하여 상처치료용 드레싱으로 응용이 기대되는 수화젤을 성공적으로 제조하였다. 다양한 겔화율, 물에서의 팽윤도, 겔강도, 및 신도를 가지는 수화젤을 제조하기 위해 수평균 중합도($P_n$)가 1700과 4000인 두 종류의 PVA를 이용하였으며, PVA 수용액 농도와 EB 조사선량은 5$\sim$20%와 30$\sim$100 kGy의 범위로 각각 조절되었다. 제조된 PVA 수화젤의 겔화율과 겔강도는 PVA의 분자량과 수용액의 농도 및 EB 조사선량이 증가함에 따라 증가하였으나, 반면에, PVA 수화젤의 팽윤도와 신도는 감소하였다. PVA 수화젤의 가교밀도에 따른 열적특성과 결정성의 변화는 differential scanning calorimetry와 X-ray diffraction을 이용하여 분석되었다.

  • Extruded Mg-Bi binary alloys are known to have an undesirable bimodal grain structure containing a large amount of coarse unrecrystallized grains. Accordingly, to improve the microstructural homogeneity of extruded Mg-Bi alloys, it is necessary to promote the dynamic recrystallization (DRX) behavior during hot extrusion. An effective way to promote DRX is an increase in nucleation sites for DRX through a pre-deformation process before extrusion, such as cold pre-forging and hot pre-compression. However, the application of these pre-deformation processes increases the cost of final extruded Mg products because of an increase in energy consumption and decrease in productivity. Therefore, a low-cost new continuous process with high productivity is required to improve the microstructural homogeneity and mechanical properties of extruded Mg alloys without a drastic increase in the entire process cost. This study proposes a new extrusion method using an extrusion billet with a truncated cone shape (i.e., tapered billet) instead of a conventional extrusion billet with a cylindrical shape. When the hot extrusion of a Mg-5Bi alloy is conducted using the tapered billet, the DRX behavior during extrusion is considerably promoted. The DRX fraction and average grain size of the extruded alloy significantly increase and decrease from 65% to 91% and from 225 ㎛ to 49 ㎛, respectively. Consequently, the extruded Mg-5Bi alloy fabricated using the tapered billet has a finer homogeneous grain structure and higher tensile elongation than the extruded counterpart fabricated using the cylindrical billet.

  • The microstructural features and relative room temperature mechanical properties were investigated in various compositions of Mg-xAl-yZn alloys by thxiomolding process. The microstructure was composed of ${\alpha}$-Mg particles and mixture of ${\alpha}$-Mg and ${\beta}-Mg_{17}Al_{12}$ eutectic phase. The amount of ${\beta}-Mg_{17}Al_{12}$ eutectic phase in mixture was increased with increasing Al and Zn contents without grain refinement. After adding Ti content, however, the morphology of ${\beta}-Mg_{17}Al_{12}$ eutectic phase transformed from net-like to discontinuous shape and the average grain size reduced. To determine the relationship between microstructural features and their mechanical properties, a tensile test was performed at room temperature. As a result, it was found that the mechanical properties were improved in all of Ti contained alloys due to increased elongation and the mechanisms are discussed in terms of microstructural evolution.

Ultrasonic Vibration and Rheocasting for Refinement of Mg-Zn-Y Alloy Reinforced with LPSO Structure

  • In this work, ultrasonic vibration (UV) and rheo-squeeze casting was first applied on the Mg alloy reinforced with long period stacking ordered (LPSO) structure. The semisolid slurry of Mg-Zn-Y alloy was prepared by UV and processed by rheosqueeze casting in succession. The effects of UV, Zr addition and squeeze pressure on microstructure of semisolid Mg-Zn-Y alloy were studied. The results revealed that the synergic effect of UV and Zr addition generated a finer microstructure than either one alone when preparing the slurries. Rheo-squeeze casting could significantly refine the LPSO structure and ${\alpha}-Mg$ matrix in $Mg_{96.9}Zn_1Y_2Zr_{0.1}$ alloy without changing the phase compositions or the type of LPSO structure. When the squeeze pressure increased from 0 to 400 MPa, the block LPSO structure was completely eliminated and the average thickness of LPSO structure decreased from 9.8 to $4.3{\mu}m$. Under 400 MPa squeeze pressure, the tensile strength and elongation of the rheocast $Mg_{96.9}Zn_1Y_2Zr_{0.1}$ alloy reached the maximum values, which were 234 MPa and 17.6%, respectively, due to its fine ${\alpha}-Mg$ matrix (${\alpha}1-Mg$ and ${\alpha}2-Mg$ grains) and LPSO structure.

선택적 레이저 조형된 AlSi10Mg합금의 후열처리에 따른 Si-rich상 형상변화가 기계적 특성에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Si-rich Phase Morphologies on Mechanical Properties of AlSi10Mg Alloys processed by Selective Laser Melting and Post-Heat Treatment)

  • In this study, AlSi10Mg powders with average diameters of 44 ㎛ are additively manufactured into bulk samples using a selective laser melting (SLM) process. Post-heat treatment to reduce residual stress in the as-synthesized sample is performed at different temperatures. From the results of a tensile test, as the heat-treatment temperature increases from 270 to 320℃, strength decreases while elongation significantly increases up to 13% at 320℃. The microstructures and tensile properties of the two heat-treated samples at 290 and 320℃, respectively, are characterized and compared to those of the as-synthesized samples. Interestingly, the Si-rich phases that network in the as-synthesized state are discontinuously separated, and the size of the particle-shaped Si phases becomes large and spherical as the heat-treatment temperature increases. Due to these morphological changes of Si-rich phases, the reduction in tensile strengths and increase in elongations, respectively, can be obtained by the post-heat treatment process. These results provide fundamental information for the practical applications of AlSi10Mg parts fabricated by SLM.

허리보호 코르셋 디자인을 위한 제품 분석 및 착용 평가 (Product Characteristics Assessment and Wearing Evaluation of Waist-protection Corset Design)

  • To enhance the design and comfort of waist-protection corsets, this study analyzed the product characteristics of five types of posture-correction corsets that are available commercially. Additionally, subjective evaluation of the corsets was conducted on women aged 20 to 60 years, in terms of design, material preference, fit, comfort, degree of correction, freedom of movement, tightness, and convenience of front fastening. Following product analysis, the five corset types were divided into: two soft, one semi-hard, and two hard types in terms of the degree of elongation. As a result of pattern analysis, the soft type was designed to improve fit by reflecting the body curvature, whereas the semi-hard and hard types were relatively flat. Through the wearing sensation assessment, the hard type manufactured by company S was the best in terms of design, material, fit, comfort, correction degree, and freedom of movement. The soft type was average in design, material, and fit while relatively poor in the correction degree and tightness. The results indicated that soft materials, flexible bones with appropriate tension, patterns designed to snugly fit the body with large curvature at the top and bottom for better inflection, and adjustable support belts that can be double-fixed are crucial elements in improving the corset design to boost the comfort of wearing. These study results are helpful in the development of waist-protection corsets with excellent wearing comfort and design appreciated by customers.

RH 공정 조건이 다른 TMCP강의 개재물 및 기계적 특성 (Inclusions and Mechanical Properties of TMCP Steel under Different RH Process Conditions)

  • TMCP(Thermo Mechanical Control Process) steel was continuously cast (CC) by varying the argon gas flow rate and vacuum time in the Ruhrstahl Heraeus (RH) refining process. Using the CC specimens, the distribution of the inclusions and the mechanical properties were evaluated. A lot of oxides and Al-O type inclusions were observed. The average Vickers hardness did not show a constant, but showed dispersion in a certain range. The shape and scale parameters of the CC specimen with an argon gas flow rate of 160Nm3 and a vacuum time of 12 minutes was the best. Mechanical properties (tensile strength, yield strength and elongation) were consistent with the Weibull probability distribution analysis results. The impact resistance was the best for CC specimens with an argon flow rate of 140 Nm3 and a vacuum time of 12 minutes. Although the inclusions and mechanical properties of the CC specimens were evaluated according to the argon gas flow rate and vacuum time, these values were no significant difference.

익산지역에서 쌀보리의 생육 및 수량의 연차 간 변화 (Yearly Variation in Growth and Yield of Winter Hulless Barley at Iksan)

  • 익산지역에서 기상요소의 변동에 따른 가을 쌀보리의 출수기 및 수량의 연차 간 변화를 알아보고자 작황 자료('85~'15) 중 기상요소와 쌀보리 생육 기간 및 수량과의 관계를 분석하였다. 1. 쌀보리 파종기인 10월 하순의 기온이 꾸준히 상승하여 출현이 빨라졌으며, 90년대 춥지 않았던 월동기는 2000년 이후, 12월에 추운 해가 많았고 1월의 변동폭도 증가하여 전체적으로 기온이 낮은 해가 많았다. 그러나 월동 후 생육재생기는 지속적으로 빨라졌으며 이는 출수기와 성숙기 등에 영향을 미쳤다. 3월의 일조시수는 증가하는 경향이었으며 등숙기에 해당되는 5월~6월 상순에는 전 기간 최고기온과 평균기온의 상승이 뚜렷하고 강수량이 감소하여 고온 건조해 지는 경향이었다. 조사기간 동안 쌀보리 생육기의 평균일은 다음과 같아서 생육정지기는 12월 18일, 생육재생기는 2월 17일, 최고분얼기는 4월 1일, 출수기 4월 27일, 등숙기 6월 1일 이었으며 파종에서 등숙까지 224일이 소요되었다. 2. 익산지역에서 쌀보리의 출수기는 생육재생기, 절간신장기간과 고도의 정의 상관을 보여 생육재생기가 빠르고 절간신장기가 짧을수록 출수가 빨랐으며 생육재생기와 절간신장기간 간에도 고도의 정의 상관을 보였다. 생육재생기는 2월 평균기온과, 절간신장기는 3월 최고기온과 고도의 부의 상관을 보였다. 등숙 기간은 등숙기 평균온도와 고도의 부의 상관을 보여 등숙기 기온이 낮을수록 등숙 기간이 길었다. 3. 새찰쌀보리('03~'15)의 수량과 상관관계가 높은 요인은 수수(R=0.726), 천립중(R=0.719), 등숙기간(R=0.527) 순이었으며 출수가 빠를수록 등숙 기간이 길고, 천립중이 높았다. 천립중은 등숙기 평균온도와 높은 부의 상관을 보였다. 4. 쌀보리의 수량은 90년대 높게 유지되었으나 2000년 이후 감소하는 경향이 뚜렷하였고 수량구성요소 중 수수의 감소가 가장 큰 원인이었다. 출수기에 따른 수량 반응성도 시기별로 달라 늘쌀보리 재배시기('88~'03)에는 출수기와 수량이 정의 상관을 보였고 출수기가 늦어짐에 따라 천립중이 증가하였으나, 새찰쌀보리 재배기('03~'15)에는 출수기가 늦어질수록 천립중이 감소하여 수량과 약한 부의 상관관계를 보였으며 출수가 늦은 해에는 등숙기의 기온상승으로 수량감소가 컷다고 할 수 있다.

고용 강화 및 결정립 미세화를 통한 마그네슘 합금 주조재의 기계적 물성 향상 (Improvement in Mechanical Properties of Cast Magnesium Alloy through Solid-solution Hardening and Grain Refinement)

  • This study investigated the effects of the addition of Zn, Ca, and SiC on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg-Al alloys. The tensile properties of homogenized Mg-xAl (x = 6, 7, 8, and 9 wt.%) alloys increased with increasing Zn content by the solid-solution strengthening effect. However, when the added Zn content exceeded the solubility limit, the strength and ductility of the alloys decreased greatly owing to premature fracture caused by undissolved coarse particles or local melting. Among the Mg-xAl-yZn alloys tested in this study, the AZ74 alloy showed the best tensile properties. However, from the viewpoints of the thermal stability, castability, and tensile properties, the AZ92 alloy was deemed to be the most suitable cast alloy. Moreover, the addition of a small amount (0.17 wt.%) of SiC reduced the average grain size of the AZ91 alloy significantly, from $430{\mu}m$ to $73{\mu}m$. As a result, both the strength and the elongation of the AZ91 alloy increased considerably by the grain-boundary hardening effect and the suppression of twinning behavior, respectively. On the other hand, the addition of Ca (0.5-1.5 wt.%) and a combined addition of Ca (0.5-1.5 wt.%) and SiC (0.17 wt.%) increased the average grain size of the AZ91 alloy, which resulted in a decrease in its tensile properties. The SiC-added AZ92 alloy exhibited excellent tensile properties (YS 125 MPa, UTS 282 MPa, and EL 12.3%), which were much higher than those of commercial AZ91 alloy (YS 93 MPa, UTS 192 MPa, and EL 7.0%). The fluidity of the SiC-added AZ92 alloy was slightly lower than that of the AZ91 alloy because of the expansion of the solid-liquid coexistence region in the former. However, the SiC-added AZ92 alloy showed better hot-tearing resistance than the AZ91 alloy owing to its refined grain structure.

  • 현대의학의 급속한 발전에도 불구하고 암은 아직도 인간에게 건강과 생명을 위협하는 주요인의 질환으로 인식되고 있다. 암은 세포조직의 과잉성장으로 인해 발생하는 악성종양으로 성별이나 연령에 관계없이 신체 어느 부분이나 발생하여 죽음에 이르게 하는 불치의 병으로 간주되고 있다. 암환자들이 치료를 받는 기간동안 겪게 되는 문제들은 심리적으로 우울하고, 죽음에 대한 불안감이 나타나며, 자아 존중감의 상실을 경험하게 된다. 방사선 치료를 받는 암환자는 대부분 수술이나 화학요법과 더불어 추가적으로 방사선치료를 병행하는 것으로 알려져 있어, 방사선 치료를 받는 환자는 신체적 고통뿐만 아니라 경제적이나 심리적으로 불안하고, 치료에 대한 부담감이 더욱 가중되어 환자에 대한 심리상태의 안정이 절실히 요구되고 있다. 인간의 질병에 대한 치료는 신체적 치료와 심리정서적 치료를 병행하여 시행함으로써 좀더 완전하고 효율적인 전인치료가 되는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구는 방사선치료를 받는 암환자의 특성과 사회적 지지에 따른 심리상태를 확인하여 환자의 전인치료를 위한 기초 자료로 제공하고자 실시하였다.
