In this work, the new algorithm that automatically extracts moving object of the video image is presented. In order to extract moving object, it is that velocity vectors correspond to each frame of the video image. Using the estimated velocity vector, the position of the object are determined. the value of the coordination of the object is initialized to the seed, and in the image plane, the moving object is automatically segmented by the region growing method. As the result of an application in sequential images, it is available to extract a moving object.

Dipped track profiles between rail transit stations can significantly reduce propulsive energy, braking energy and travel times. This work quantifies their potential benefits for circumstances reflected in various values for dips, speed and acceleration limits, station spacings, and available power. A deterministic simulation model has been developed to precisely estimate train motions and performance using basic equations for kinematics, resistance, power and braking. For a dip of 1% of station spacing, in which gradients never exceed 4%, our results show savings (compared with level tracks) exceeding 9% for propulsive energy, 15% for braking energy and 5% for travel time between stations.

In this paper, some of the critical factors in Necking-In process are investigated using a numerical analysis. The optimal processing parameters are established and applied to the actual processes. FEM analysis is carried out based on elastic-plastic work hardening model using ABAQUS/Standard. The results obtained from the commercially available code ABAQUS/Standard are compared with the experimental data and shows a good agreement with experimental data. The purpose of this paper is to search for the relations among the roller angle, feed length, and working force. Stress, strain distribution, displacement and increase in the length of the workpiece are also investigated.

The IPTV Standardization work being done by the ITU-T in collaboration with other SDOs and telecommunication companies. Currently IPTV services are provided with no global standards and interoperability. ITU-T leads the process of IPTV standardization. We used the ITU-Ts working documents which were publically available to investigate the direction of IPTV standardization process. Many things including architecture, services, service requirements, codec and error correction mechanisms etc already defined through recommendations. But still there is effort going on to standardize the complete IPTV system.

Recently completed mitochondrial genome databses from public resources provide us with a better understanding of individual mitochondrial genomes for population genomics. By determining the substitution rate of the genomic sequences, it is plausible to derive dates on the phylogenetic tree and build a chronology of events in the evolution of human species. MitGEN is specially designed as a mitochondrial genome browser for analyzing, comparing and visualizing single nucleotide polymorphism for human mitochondrial genomes between human races for comparative genomics. It is a standalone application and is available free for non-commercial work.

Successful implementation of statistical process control techniques requires for operational definitions and precise measurements. Nevertheless, very often analysts can dispose of process data available only by linguistic terms, that would be a waste to neglect just because of their intrinsic vagueness. Thus a hybrid approach, which integrates fuzzy set theory and common statistical tools, sounds useful in order to improve effectiveness of statistical process control in such a case. In this work, a fuzzy approach is adopted to manage linguistic information, and the use of a Chi-squared control chart is proposed to monitor process performance.

This paper proposes a frame work for embedded system management. The management system can automatically monitor and maintain the Internet connected embedded-systems such as sensor devices, set-top box, web-pad, information appliances, PDA, etc. Users can easily diagnose system state, resolve system problems, maintain and update applications, and back up user information using the management system. We implement prototype for the management system on embedded Linux system and High -available Linux system.

This paper describes a computer method for power system planning. Power system planning was usually studied through individual programs. Because of the laborious work involved in data preparation, the increase of task for power system planning and the time required for the detailed analysis of results, the available time for assessment and decision making has been sacrificed. In order to improve the above situation, the use of data base techniques an the simplified evaluation of the presented programs were newly developed. This program has been used successfully for the routine of power system planning in Korea Electric Company. In addition, this paper describes some results of analysis and evaluation of power system planning in KECO.
