머신 비전을 이용한 금형 품질 검사 시스템 개발 (Development of Stamping Die Quality Inspection System Using Machine Vision)

  • In this paper, we present a case study of developing MVIS (Machine Vision Inspection System) designed for exterior quality inspection of stamping dies used in the production of automotive exterior components in a small to medium-sized factory. While the primary processes within the factory, including machining, transportation, and loading, have been automated using PLCs, CNC machines, and robots, the final quality inspection process still relies on manual labor. We implement the MVIS with general-purpose industrial cameras and Python-based open-source libraries and frameworks for rapid and low-cost development. The MVIS can play a major role on improving throughput and lead time of stamping dies. Furthermore, the processed inspection images can be leveraged for future process monitoring and improvement by applying deep learning techniques.

  • In this paper, we propose a mechanical contact inner tap inspection system that can inspect the defect of the inner tap immediately after inner tap is processed within the machining center. The inspection module has the collet chuck structure, so it can mounted on the main spindle of the machining center during inspection. It was developed with a focus on inspection for tap having 20 mm depth which is primarily fabricated in automotive parts and has a double sided PCB-type control system including sensing function based on Zigbee module, micom and IR sensor for wireless transmission of measured data with low power operation, and also a battery for supplying electric power. The current consumption is 46.8mA in the inspection operation mode and 0.0268mA in the power saving mode for 3.7V of the applied power source, so that 30,000 times or more inspection can be performed with assumed 5 seconds inspection time for one tap. Experiments in test jig system and actual machining center confirm that the proposed inner tap inspection system can be applied to the batch process of simultaneous inspection after tapping in the machining center.

인공신경망과 비전 시스템을 이용한 자동차용 오일씰의 검사 (Inspection of Automotive Oil-Seals Using Artificial Neural Network and Vision System)

  • The Classification of defected oil-seals using a vision system with the artificial neural network is presented. The artificial neural network fur classification consists of 27 input nodes, 10 hidden nodes, and one output node. The selection of the number of the input nodes is based on an observation that the difference among the defected, non-defected, and smeared oil-seals is greatly pronounced in the 26 step gray-scale level thresholding. The number of the hidden nodes is chosen as a result of a trade-off between accuracy and computing time. The back-propagation algorithm is used for teaching the network. The proposed network is capable of successfully classifying the defected from the smeared oil-seals which tend to be classified as the defected ones using the binary thresholding. It is envisaged that the proposed method improves the reliability and productivity of the automotive vision inspection system.

  • 이 논문은 영상처리기법을 이용하여 자동차 엔진 조림공정에 대한 통합적인 자동검사시스템의 개발에 관한 연구이다. 본 시스템은 머신비전에 의한 검사데이터를 통계적 공정관리시스템으로 직접 입력이 가능하며, 이러한 특성은 품질 이상이나 공정에 문제가 발생하였을 때 즉각적인 수정 조치가 가능한 기술이다. 검사부분에 대한 영상처리는 PC 내부에 설치되어 있는 IVP-150 머신비전 보드에 의하여 이루어지며, 품질요소를 정확히 확인하기 위해 템플리트 매칭 기술이 적용되었다. 본 시스템을 생산현장에 적용한 결과, 잡음이나 영상의 삐뚤어짐 흑은 방향성 등의 문제에도 적응력이 강함이 입증되었다.

DYNAMICS OF AN ACTIVELY GUIDED TRACK INSPECTION VEHICLE

  • The lateral dynamic behaviours of a track inspection vehicle with laterally guided system are studied for the safety and comfort. A 10-DOF dynamic model is proposed counting for lateral and yaw motions. The equations for motions of the vehicle running on curved tracks at a constant speed are presented. It is shown by simulation that lateral guiding forces applied to the guiding wheels on the inner side of the track increase in a larger scale in comparison with those on the outer side when the vehicle passes through curved tracks with cant, and the front guiding spring forces is larger than the rears. Lateral vibrations due to yaw motions of the vehicle take place when the vehicle runs through curved tracks. Finally, effect of the lateral guidance on the vehicle dynamics is also examined and advantages of such a guiding system are discussed in some details. An optimal guided control is applied to restrain the lateral and yaw motions. The comparisons between the active and passive guidance explain the effect of the active control approaches.

  • 본 논문에서는 자동차 핵심부품 중 하나인 알터네이터 수풀의 육안검사를 대체하기 위한 머신비전시스템을 설계하는 데 목적이 있다. 플라스틱 사출물인 알터네이터 스풀의 경우 일반적으로 미성형, 찍힘, 뜯김, 크랙 등의 불량 유형이 발생한다. 스풀을 고속으로 전수검사하기 위하여 설계의 실패 사례를 예로 들었고, 이를 통해 최적의 고속 자동화 머신비전 시스템을 설계하고 2차 협력 업체인 중소기업을 위해 저비용 검사 시스템에 초점을 맞추고자 한다. 3차원 설계 소프트웨어인 Pro-Engineer와 CATIA가 사용되었다. 개발 제작 될 시스템은 산업현장에 적용하여 절대적 판정의 안정성을 도모하고, 생산성 향상을 위한 사이클 타임을 충족하는 데 기여할 수 있다.

  • Cars are inspected in the transport sector for their ability to achieve the greenhouse gas reduction targets. A vehicle (automobile) inspection broadly consists of regular and total checks, and both the safety level and the amount of exhaust gas are checked simultaneously during a vehicle inspection. This study deals with the efficiency of a soot probe to measure soot emissions from diesel vehicles. When the vehicle exhaust gas measurement is performed, there may be a difference between the exhaust gas temperature and the soot suction amount because of the different shape and angle of the exhaust port for each vehicle type. This may result in some incidents where the correct inspection nonconforming vehicle is not selected. Therefore, in this study, the shape of the probe was improved to increase the soot measurement efficiency under the condition of the exhaust pipe angle change.

자동차 차체부품 CO2용접설비 전수검사용 비전시스템 개발 (Development of a Vision System for the Complete Inspection of CO2 Welding Equipment of Automotive Body Parts)

  • In the car industry, welding is a fundamental linking technique used for joining components, such as steel, molds, and automobile parts. However, accurate inspection is required to test the reliability of the welding components. In this study, we investigate the detection of weld beads using 2D image processing in an automatic recognition system. The sample image is obtained using a 2D vision camera embedded in a lighting system, from where a portion of the bead is successfully extracted after image processing. In this process, the soot removal algorithm plays an important role in accurate weld bead detection, and adopts adaptive local gamma correction and gray color coordinates. Using this automatic recognition system, geometric parameters of the weld bead, such as its length, width, angle, and defect size can also be defined. Finally, on comparing the obtained data with the industrial standards, we can determine whether the weld bead is at an acceptable level or not.

여지반사식과 광투과식 매연측정기의 매연도 상관계수에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Opacity Correlation Factor between the Filtration Type and Light Extinction Type Diesel Smoke Meters)

  • Recently, The air pollution problems become hot issues as the production of the diesel automotive increases. The ministry of environment has enforced a precise inspection law to decrease the vehicle emission. In this circumstances, the smoke measurement is somewhat complicated by the use of the different type smoke meters. Although the paper filtration type opacimeter has been used for measuring smoke widely but currently the light extinction type is being used for precise inspection law. These two type opacimeters are different in their measuring principles on each other. So, for the time being the regulation standards can be confused by these two type opacimeters. In this article, The correlation factor between these two type opacimeters is studied by using engine dynamometer and vehicle test. The result of the dynamometer test shows the light extinction type is more sensitive than the filtration type by 1.47 times. But the relation factor by the vehicle test achieved 1.37 value, which is lower than that of the dynamometer test. In the future study the more precise research is needed to estimate the relation factor on vehicle test.

반도체 테스트 핸들러 픽커 검사장비 프레임에 대한 구조 및 피로해석 (Structure and Fatigue Analyses of the Inspection Equipment Frame of a Semiconductor Test Handler Picker)

  • 요즈음 생산되는 반도체의 제품이 제대로 작동하는지, 낮은 습도 또는 높은 온도에서 잘 견디는가를 검사하는 패키지 조립 및 검사 공정이 현장에 많이 있다. 또한 검사공정에서 사용되고 있는 반도체 테스트 핸들러 픽커 검사장비가 있는데, 본 연구에서는 CATIA 프로그램을 이용하여 3D 모델링하였으며, ANSYS 프로그램을 이용하여 반도체 테스트 핸들러 픽커 검사장비 프레임의 모델에 대하여 3가지 피로하중에 대한 해석을 하였다. 해석 결과로서 Case 1과 Case 2 모두 프레임의 가운데에서 최대 변형량이 발생하고 불규칙 피로 하중들 중에서 가장 하중의 변동이 심한 'SAE bracket history'가 가장 불안정하고 'Sample history'가 가장 안정함을 보이고 있다. 본 연구의 피로 해석 결과는 반도체 테스트 핸들러 픽커 검사장비 프레임의 파손방지 및 내구성을 검토함으로서 그 프레임의 설계에 효율적으로 활용이 될 수 있다.
