Stiffened panels are very frequently used for body structures of automobiles, air-crafts, submarines, etc., to suppress the vibration level. Swaging technique is the modification of the configuration of panel itself, and this is prefered to rib-like stiffeners because it does not change the total weight of structure. In this paper, the transmissibility of vibratory power through swage is investigated, where the swage is modeled as an incomplete circular ring, utilizing the well-known transfer matrix method. The power transmission and reflection coefficients of swaged panel are estimated and compared with experimental results.

Modelling for failures is important for reliability analysis since failures of products such as automobiles occur as both time and usage progress and the results from the proper analysis of the two-dimensional data can be used for establishing warranty assurance policy. Hence, in this paper general issues which concern modelling failures are discussed, and both one-dimensional approaches and two-dimensional approaches to two-dimensional data are investigated. Finally non-parametric approaches to two-dimensional data are presented as a means of exploratory data analyses.

For the flow facing high1y informationized age, there is a flow from fixed communications connecting fixed places such as offices and homes to mobile communications connecting mobile objets such as automobiles, ships and aircraft. This flow has added to diversifying communications Including data and images. While the axed mode is diversifying information media by digitalization of communications network and computers, the mobile mode has brought higher sophistication of communication modes by a higher degree of electric wave utilization. The following descriptions outlines the mobile communication which is utilizing the electric wave phenomena. In sequence the following items are described: a brief history of mobile communications, the technical object and various kinds of services, propagation of electric wave signal.

SONICS is the software developed by authors. The program provides the noise level in outdoors due to various noise source types : construction machines including blast sources, railroad vehicles and automobiles. h operates in the Windows system. Since the software is compiled by using Visual C++ 4.0, users can run the program interactively. Also SONICS uses Windows' dialog-box and choice-button so that a novice user can easily implement the program for the environmental noise planning.

Design method for Involute bevel gears is developed. The developed gear design system can design the optimized gear that minimize the number of pinion teeth with face tooth. Method of optimization is MS(matrix search) which is developed from this study. Design variables are pressure angle 20, transmitted power, gear volume, gear ratio, allowable contact stress and allowable bending stress, etc. Design method developed this study can bd applide to the plane, machine tools, automobiles.

The increase need for agricultural machinery production and its globalization through international Joint ventures are discussed in this paper. Examples of joint businesses for the overseas manufacturing of farm machinery are given and problems are pointed out. Overseas production of automobiles is illustrated through a few examples and suggestions are made for farm machinery production . Measures to be taken to promote global production of agricultural machinery through international joint ventures are mentioned.

그 동안 대기오염에 대한 많은 연구에도 불구하고 아직까지도 우리 나라에는 표준화된 배출량 산성방법이 정립되어 있지 못한 실정이다. 이로 인해 연구의 중복으로 인한 시간 및 비용의 낭비가 매우 심하며, 개별 연구간의 상호비교 및 검토가 어려워 배출량 산정방법을 개선하는 데 어려움을 겪고 있다. 특히 자동차의 경우에는 배출량 산정 방법에 대한 연구가 너무 부족한 실정이다. 한편 자동차의 증가에 따라 자동차 오염물질 배출량은 더욱 증가할 것으로 예상되고 있으며, 도시지역 오존 문제도 더욱 심각해질 것으로 판단된다.(중략)

Polyamides have been widely used in the various industrial fields on account of their excellent properties. Especially the largest market with more than 40% of the total demand is in automobiles and transportation equipment. In this lecture, we would like to introduce several new functional materials (new polyamide elastomer UBESTA XPA, UBESTA gas pipe system and new polyamide terpolymer TERPALEX) based on polyamides developed by UBE. Here UBESTA is the trademark for UBE's polyamide12.

Automobiles have become part of our lives in modern society. But since they can be detrimental once problems occur on the road safety requirements are stringent. In this paper DFSS procedure is applied to the establishment of headliner safety. Specifically, IDDOV is employed where problems are identified, areas for development clarified, optimization realized, and finally optimal conditions verified at the final stage.
