Parts supply management system for automobile part′s manufacturing companies

  • This paper proposes an efficient and effective BOM management scheme for small and medium manufacturing (SME) companies that produce automobile parts. Automobile part's manufacturers produce very various products due to various automobile characteristics such as types, colors, and options of cars. These products are classified into product groups with common parts and like this product groups with commonality are regarded as product family. This paper proposes a BOM data model for product family structures and implements the practical EXCEL-based BOM management system for real small and medium manufacturing (SU) companies that produces automobile parts.

  • This paper focuses on a BOM(Bill of Materials) management problem for a small and medium manufacturing company that produce automobile parts. Automobile part's manufacturers produce various products due to various automobile characteristics such as types, colors, and the other options of car. These products are classified into product groups with common parts. And each product group is regarded as a product family. This paper proposes an efficient and effective EXCEL-based BOM management scheme using characteristics of the product family. And we have implemented the practical EXCEL-based BOM management system for real small and medium automobile part's manufacturing companies.

  • 자동차부품산업에 속한 대부분의 기업은 완성차 조립을 위한 공급기업과의 협력에 있어 공급사슬관리시스템을 필요로 하고 있다. 자동차부품산업은 1차, 2차, 3차 공급업체와 같은 계층적 구조의 산업 특성을 가지고 있다. 최근 RFID 기술을 적용한 새로운 구현사례가 통합된 정보시스템 구현이 요구되는 다양한 영역에서 나타나고 있다. 특히 자동차부품산업의 공급사슬환경은 유비쿼터스환경으로 전환되고 있다. 자동차부품산업에 속한 대부분의 기업은 비즈니스 프로세스의 단축, 거래정보의 공유, 그리고 거래당사자간의 협업관계를 증진하기 위해 RFID기반의 공급사슬관리 구현에 관심이 높다. 본 연구는 제품의 입고, 출고, 재고관리와 같은 자동차부품산업의 물류분야에 RFID 기술을 구현하고자 한다. 연구의 목적은 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅환경에서 u-SCM 시스템에 적용된 RFID를 활용하여 공급사슬네트워크의 협업관계를 증진하기 위한 것이다. 본 논문의 기여는 UML 기법을 적용하여 RFID기반의 SCM 시스템을 설계하고 구현함으로써 기존 프로세스를 새로운 프로세스로 전환하는 새로운 시스템 접근방안을 제안하는 것이다.

  • Most of companies related to the area of B2B electronic commerce are making their efforts to innovate their existing business process into new designed process based on the concept of virtual enterprise. Virtual enterprise can take on many forms and definitions. Nevertheless, the rationale for this business model is clear cooperate to compete, the virtual organization advocates collaboration, partnerships, alliance and similar ideas. This studyintends to suggest an empirical clue to test several hypotheses related to the influence of environmental. organizational, and technological factor to the successful implementation of virtual enterprise in automobile industry. This research surveyed 91 corporations in Korean automobile part industry. Among those samples 86 data of corporate general managers turned out to be statistically valid. This study performed the factor analysis, Cronbach-alpha test. Pearson correlation analysis for testing the validity and the reliability of this research. The results of factor analysis and reliability test indicate that thirty issues to be surveyed are to be grouped into nine factors. The result of multiple regression shows that the influencing factors of eight independent variables on a dependent variable are cooperation between partners, information intensity, IT compatibility, IS maturity. The partners in the strategic alliance will have to trust each other in carrying out their designated roles and responsibilities. and supplying the correct information critical for creating value in virtual business environment.

  • Toyota Production System (TPS) has been known a new production paradigm applicable to every type of manufacturing industry, not restricted to automobile assembly system. The basic framework of TPS has been studied and presented actively; many enterprises from all over the world including some of large domestic companies, have adopted and applied. This study analyzed the cases for TPS introduction and application process of LG Electronics and SAMSUNG Electronics, Semiconductor Division. On a different areas of business items, different strategic approaches are developed and implemented on a two comparable domestic companies. Key success factors for two companies are analysed, and some issues are also discussed.

미국의 재제조산업에 관한 연구 (Remanufacturing Industry for Automobile Parts of USA)

  • Remanufacturing is a process that restores old products to perform like new, while saving energy, reducing consumption of natural resources, and lowering environmental emissions. By extending the product life cycle, remanufacturing approaches enable closed loop material cycles that are ultimately necessary for a sustainable society. This paper provides some description of the current automotive remanufacturing enterprise, with a particular emphasis on key vehicle components that are currently remanufactured. The analysis yields two major conclusions. First, volume of the USA automotive after sales and remanufacturing industry market is estimated. Second, market price of a remanufactured component in the automotive sector is surprisingly uncorrelated with the number of companies engaged in remanufacturing that component - at least for companies registered with the Automotive Parts Remanufacturing Association (ARPA).

동기화 생산을 위한 조달물류 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the improvement of procurement logistics for synchronous manufacturing)

  • In automobile company it is needed to establish the collaborative relationship between the assembly company and the part manufacturing company. In this paper we established the improvement for the procurement logistics and logistics in assembly company and thus we derived the near optimal procurement cycle through the simple EXCEL simulation and the improved inventory management method for H automobile company in CHINA. At this time we adopted the pull manufacturing process instead of push manufacturing process. We resulted that the manufacturing activity of both companies was stabilized and the usage of storage area in assembly company was reduced by 50%, especially it was reduced by 100% in the case of directly delivering the parts to assembly line through the third party logistics company.

Determination of Fleet Size for LTL Transportation With Dynamic Demand

  • This study suggests an approach for determining fleet size for LTL (less -than-truckload) transportation with dynamic demand for on-time supply of the parts between the assembly line in an automobile company and its part suppliers in Korea. The vehicles operated by the transportation trucking companies in Korea in general can be classified into three types depending on the ways how their expenses occur; company -owned truck, mandated truck which is owned by outsider who entrusts the company with its operation, and rented truck (outsourcing) . With the forecasted monthly production data a year, a heuristic algorithm is developed to determine the number of company-owned trucks, mandated trucks, and rented trucks in order to minimize the expected annual operating cost, which is based on the solution technologies used in the aggregate production planning and vehicle routing problem. Finally the algorithm is tested for the problem how the trucking company transports parts for the automobile company.

  • In this paper, we introduce an ubiWarehouse system for the management of automobile parts. Because automotive parts are very various in kinds according to companies, models and manufacture year, it's hard to find exactly the desired parts and to control goods in stock. To solve this problem, we propose the model of context recognizer in which context data are expressed in a systematic type of 5W1H. And initial context data are grouped and integrated, and some conflict context information is solved. Finally user's intention is interpreted and served. As a result, the proposed system can be used to enhance conveniency and correctness of the management of various kinds of part's.

국내 자동차산업의 근골격계질환 실태에 관한 연구 (A Study of Musculoskeletal Disorders at Automobile Industries in Korea)

  • A series of studies with collaboration of university, research institute, and labor union were conducted to examine the situation and severity of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) at an automobile company which is one of the three major car companies in Korea. As the first part of the study, a questionnaire survey was conducted on 4,000 employees at 2 different assembly sites and A/S centers over the country. The questionnaire was consisted of three parts; symptom survey, work environment information, and labor intensity survey. Among 4,000 questionnaires, 2,643 responses were considered for analysis. The result showed that 68.5% of the respondents complained pains on at least one part of the body and 48.8% on at least two parts of the body. After cross-sectional analysis of various information and risk factors such as severity of symptom, duration and frequency of pain, 31.5% of respondents were considered as at high risk of having MSDs. This high-risk rate showed similar result when compared with previous studies conducted at various manufacturing industries in Korea. Also the analysis of the work environment and job intensity survey supported the high-risk rate of MSDs.
