  • The successful development of the automobile industry in Korea is the firstfruit of the epochmaking automobile policy in 1973: Top-Down mass production of Korean model cars. In Top-Down system, indigenous model, which is the most important and difficult part of the automobile industry, is devised first, followed by the mass production of the major parts, such as bodies, engines, etc. This system is in contrast to the prevailing Bottom-up system in the third-world, which assembles automobiles by gradually adding up simple domestic parts. The Government, faced with a vicious circle of depen- dence on assembly of foreign cars, high prices, small demand and low production, decided it was time to move to the mass production of the indigenous models. It was hoped that the efficiencies of low cost Korean models would be epochally improved by overcoming the sway of foreign models and by strengthening the production capabilities of the main parts. In contrast to these develop- ment planning, assembled vehicles numbered only 26,300 units in 1973. In the year of 1995, the total number of automobile production have already passed 2,534,000. As steady growth in worldwide demand is forecast, Korea will able to play a major role as an important automobile maker of the next century.

Parts supply management system for automobile part′s manufacturing companies

  • This paper proposes an efficient and effective BOM management scheme for small and medium manufacturing (SME) companies that produce automobile parts. Automobile part's manufacturers produce very various products due to various automobile characteristics such as types, colors, and options of cars. These products are classified into product groups with common parts and like this product groups with commonality are regarded as product family. This paper proposes a BOM data model for product family structures and implements the practical EXCEL-based BOM management system for real small and medium manufacturing (SU) companies that produces automobile parts.

AHP에 의한 한국자동차부품제조사의 제조성과기준의 중요도 평가 (An AHP Approach to Evaluate the priorities of Manufacturing Performance Criteria in Korean Automobile Parts Manufacturing Company)

  • The critical role played by manufacturing performance measurement systems in achieving competitive success is increasingly recognized. Developing an integrated performance measurement model is significant for strategic management. This study consist of several principal steps. Performance criteria from the literature and an questionnaire were utilized prior to building the performance model. The AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) is utilized to evaluate the weight of each criterion when generating the performance measurement model for Korea automobile parts manufacturing company. AHP analysis showed clear difference in the priority between 5 criteria and 24 sub-criteria in terms of manufacturing performance of Korean automobile parts manufacturing company. The result of priority evaluation in the 5 criteria of 2nd level was ranked quality, cost, delivery, employee, flexibility. And the critical sub-criteria in the 24 sub-criteria of 3rd level was ranked claim rate, process defect rate, outsourcing parts defect rate, ability to quality management innovation, claim cost, etc.

  • This paper investigates service quality in the automobile service industry. The model used to study service quality in the domestic automobile industry is "SERVQUAL", introduced by Parasuraman, Zeithaml and Berry. Using this model, we survey consumer′s expected and perceived service qualities. The gap between these qualities is analyzed in five quality dimensions. We test whether these gap scores are different depending on the service providing company.

  • 본 연구는 미국의 자동시장의 시장구조를 분석한 것이다. 자동차 시장의 구조분석는 제품의 특성이 냐내구재라는 점에서 의의가 있다. 그 동안 시장구조분석은 일반포장소비재를 중심으로 분석되어 왔으나 자동차의 시장구조분석는 자동차의 구매주기가 장기간이며, 다음 구매는 많은 소비자가 상위차급으로 이동한다는 점에서 기존의 분석에 사용되었던 상표전환자료를 사용하는데 한계가 있다. 이 때문에 본 연구에서는 구매고려상표군을 중심으로 우사성지수로 사용하여 시장구조분석을 하였다. 자료는 미국의 자동차구매에 관한 이차자료를 활용하였으며, 자료의 특성상 일부차종에 한정하여 사용하였다. 크게 세가지 형태-비용, 비용-형태, 비구조화의 가설적 시장을 비교분석하였으며, 결과적으로 형태-비용 구조가 가장 우수한 것으로 판단되었다.

자동차 제조사 A 기업의 자동차 품질역량과 인지된 위험이 고객가치 및 고객충성도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Motor Manufacturer A's Vehicle Quality Capability and Perceived Risk on the Customer Value and Loyalty)

  • Purpose: This study would measure the users'perceived overall quality level of A automobile Company, which has leading market power in the domestic automobile market and analyze the causal relationships in the quality value process Model to quality capability, customer value and loyalty based on that. Especially, this study would analyze the relative impacts of the users'perceived risks appearing in the quality value process model of the formation of Quality Factors(QF), Customer Value(CV), and Customer Loyalty(CL) and analyze the moderating effect of the causal relationships among the components. Methods: For an analysis of causal relationships connected to QF, CV, and CL of the customers who purchased Auto manufacturer A's automobile users, 179 users who used within 3 years were utilized as samples for the analysis. As for QF, based on the Garvin(1988), the QF of automobiles were redesigned. For a structural equation analysis of the entire research model, the PLS(S(Partial Least Square) model was utilized. Results: As a result of an analysis, R2 of CV and CL was 0.652 for CV and 0.664 for CL, which was a very stable Goodness of fit. As a result of an analysis of the hypotheses of QF and CV, automobile performance, conformance, aesthetics, serviceability, and durability. In addition, it turned out that the perceived risk had a moderating effect on convenience, service availability, and perceived quality. Conclusion: This study found that the perceived quality risk appearing among automobile users had negative effects on the quality value process model to QF, CV and CL. In contrast, there were factors not affecting the users'quality value process in spite of the perceived risk. These factors can suggest important managerial implications in that they can be utilized as Auto manufacturer A's market-dominant strengths.

  • The flow stress value was calculated by comparing predicted and measured roll force. Using basic on-line roll force model and logged mill data the flow stress equation of high strength steel for automobile was derived. The flow stress equation consists of the flow stress equation of carbon steel and flow stress factor calculated by neural network with input parameters not only carbon contents, strip temperature, strain, and strain rate, but also compositions such as Mn, p, Ti, Nb, and Mo. Using the flow stress equation and basic roll force model, precision roll force model of high strength steel for automobile was derived. Using test set of logged mill data the flow stress equation was verified.

자동차 부품 수요의 예측 모형 개발 (Development of the Forecasting Model for Parts in an Automobile)

  • This paper deals with demand forecasting of parts in an automobile model which has been extinct. It is important to estimate how much inventory of each part in the extinct model should be stocked because production lines of some parts may be replaced by new ones although there is still demands for the model. Furthermore, in some countries, there is a strong regulation that the automobile manufacturing company should provide customers with auto parts for several years whenever they are requested. The major characteristic of automobile parts demand forecasting is that there exists a close correlation between the number of running cars and the demand of each part. In this sense, the total demand of each part in a year is determined by two factors, the total number of running cars in that year and the failure rate of the part. The total number of running cars in year k can be estimated sequentially by the amount of shipped cars and proportion of discarded cars in years 1, 2,$\cdots$, i. However, it is very difficult to estimate the failure rate of each part because available inter-failure time data is not complete. The failure rate is, therefore, determined so as to minimize the mean squared error between the estimated demand and the observed demand of a part in years 1, 2,$\cdots$, i. In this paper, data obtained from a Korean automobile manufacturing company are used to illustrate our model.

  • 역사적으로 볼 때, 지난 100여 년 간 자동차 개발의 경향은 기술적인 성능 위주로의 경쟁이 주도하여 왔다고 할 수 있다. 특히 첨단 전자 산업의 급속한 성장에 의한 자동차 기술력의 향상은 단기간에 걸쳐 괄목할만한 결과를 가져온 것이다. 초창기부터 고급차를 생산하는 일부 유명 제조 사에서 현재의 신흥 자동차 제조 사 까지 승용차를 위주로 한 개발기술 능력은 한계에 이를 만큼 매우 근소한 차이로 좁혀져 왔다. 따라서 이제는 자동차 선택의 기준에 디자인이 큰 몫을 하게되었다. 최근의 자동차 스타일의 경향은 보편적인 삶의 질의 향상에 따른 소비자의 다양한 욕구에 만족할 수 있는 개성 있는 디자인으로 변화되고 있다. 따라서, RV, SUV, MPV 등의 자동차가 등장하는가 하면, 각 차종별로 독특한 파생 모델이 나타나고 있다. 본 연구에서는 차세대 개념의 새로운 소형 SUV형 자동차 디자인에 대한 컨셉카 연구를 시도하였다. 리서치에서부터 최종 하드모델까지 자동차 디자인 프로세스에 의거 진행한 전과정은 대우자동차의 디자인 연구소에서 진행되었다. 특히 젊은 연령층이 쉽게 소유할 수 있도록 값싸고 개성 있는 새로운 카테고리의 자동차 개념을 스타일화 하였으며 고객의 반응도를 조사 분석하여 차후 경 SUV 자동차 개발에 참조될 수 있도록 하였다.

중국 내 자동차 산업 동향과 월별 판매량 시계열분석 (Analysis of Automobile Industry Trends and Demand Forecasting of Monthly Automobile Sales in Chin)

  • 본 연구에서는 급변하고 있는 세계 경제 환경 하에서 중국 자동차 산업의 발전 현황과 자동차 산업과 관련한 중국 정부의 정책을 살펴보고, 중국 내 소비자들의 자동차 구입에 대해 소비자 동향 조사를 실시하였다. 중국 정부의 강력한 국가 배출가스 규제정책과 내연기관 자동차 제조·판매 기준의 강화에도 불구하고 소비자들은 다양한 이유로 앞으로 자동차를 구매 시 내연기관차를 선택하겠다는 응답비율이 59.6%에 달하는 등 정부 정책과 소비자 인식 사이에는 적지 않은 차이가 존재하고 있음을 확인하였다. 또한, 최근의 중국 내 자동차 판매량의 감소 추세를 발견하여 2010년 1월부터 2020년 12월까지 월별 판매량을 학습용 데이터로, 2021년 1월부터 2022년 11월 동안의 판매량을 평가용으로 구분하여 향후 중국의 자동차 수요를 예측하는 시계열 모형들을 제안, 평가하였다. 그리고 각 시계열모형을 적용하였을 때의 2023년도의 월별 예측 판매량을 보였다.
