  • Due to the variety of disturbance, it is not ease to accomplish the in-process detection of weld line with non-contact sensor. To get around this difficulties problem develop an automatic seam tracking weld system, the reliable signal processing algorithm has been recommanded. In this research, laser displacement sensor is applied as a seam finder in the automatic tracking system. The sensor is controlled by a dc servo motor which is mounted at X-Y moving table. X-Y moving table manipulated by an ac servo motor controls the position and velocity of the welding torch. First, X-Y table moves to Y-axis to search the welding joint feature before starting the welding, and welding joint is from the scanning data and weighting factor for each other. Second, weld line is determined using proposed signal processing algorithm during welding process. Form the experimental results, we could see the possibility that laser displacement sensor with procesed algorithm can be used as a seam finder in welding process under the severe noise (spatter,arc light etc.) condition

  • 수작업에 의한 기존의 프로젝션(projection) 용접시스템은 작업자의 부주의로 인한 불량이 자주 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 비전카메라를 사용하여 부품과 제품의 인식, 용접 및 수량 관리를 자동으로 수행하는 프로젝션 용접시스템을 제안한다. 제안 시스템은 비전카메라를 사용하여 용접에 사용되는 부품의 유무와 놓인 상태를 검사한다. 그리고 부품의 용접 후에는 제품 수량 카운터와 드레싱 등의 항목을 자동 갱신한다. 기존 시스템과의 비교 실험을 통해 불량률을 감소시키고 생산성을 높일 수 있음을 보인다.

  • 자동차, 조선, 발전설비 및 산업기계 등 거의 전 산업분야의 제품 생산단계에 용접기술이 사용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 구조용 금속제품 제조공장에서 많이 사용되어지는 PLC $CO_2$ 자동용접 시스템의 설계 및 구현에 관해 조사하였다. 이를 위해 시스템의 구동부 지지대에 대해 구조해석을 수행하였으며 전력절약형 시스템의 구현을 위해 자동전압조정기의 사양선택, 시스템의 상호인터페이스 및 회로도 설계를 고안하였다. 그 결과 용접 구동부 지지대의 설계가 안전함을 확인하였으며, 또한 PLC $CO_2$ 자동용접 시스템은 다품종 소량 생산형 구조물 제조공장의 용접자동화에 적합하며 생산성 향상, 품질안정 및 전력 절약에 기여할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

선박 소조립 공정용 로봇 자동교시 시스템의 구현 (Implementation of Automatic Teaching System for Subassembly Process in Shipbuilding)

  • Robot systems are widely utilized in the shipbuilding industry to enhance the productivity by automating the welding process. In order to increase productivity, it is necessary to reduce the time used for robot teaching. In this work, the automatic teaching system is developed for the subassembly process in the shipbuilding industry. A alser/vision sensor is designed to detect the weld seam and the image of the fillet joint is processed using the arm method. Positions of weld seams defined in the CAD database are transformed into the robot coordinate, and the dynamic programming technique is applied to find the sub-optimum weld path. Experiments are carried out to verify the system performance. The results show that the proposed automatic teaching system performs successfully and can be applied to the robot system in the subassembly process.

  • Welding systems cannot adapt to changes in the joint geometry which may occur due to a variety of reason. Automatic seam tracking technigue is essential to adjust the welding torch position in real time as it moves along the seam. Automatic tracking system must keep the welding speed constant unrelation to the change of the welding path. Therefore, the information from the laser displacement sensor must be converted into the input to operate the X-Y table and to rotate the desired torch position by proposed algorithm. In this research, laser displacement sensor is used as a seam finder in the automatic tracking system. X-Y moving table manipulated by ac servo motor controls the position and velocity of the torch-and-sensor part. DC motor controls the position and velocity of the torch. X-Y table controls the position of sensor and relative position of torch is controlled by dc motor which is mounted at sensor-and-torch part. Sensor is always ahead of torch to preview the weld line. From the experimental results, we could see the possiblity that the laser displacement sensor can be used as a seam finder in welding process and that the seam tracking system controlled by proposed algorithm is well done.

철근 가스압접공법 활성화를 위한 한국형 철근자동가스압접기 기술개발방향 (The developing direction of korean gas pressure welding machine)

  • The study is focused on the settling the developing direction of korean gas pressure welding machine which can be applied in korean construction sites with moderate and high performance. Gas pressure welding is more economical and has good performances than other steel bar jointing methods, as arc welding and mechanical joint etc. Therefore in Japan, the gas pressure welding, which has less loss of steel bars and low performance of joints, when connecting the D29 and thicker steel bars, Is one of the typical connection of steel reinforcement. But in Korea, the gas pressure welding method is not widely used caused by the shortage of skilled workers, and this situation in Korea can not be solved in short period. The training of the skilled workers takes long period(around $6\~10$ years), and there is no certification system for gas pressure welding. So to activate the gas pressure welding in Korea, the development of the automatic gas pressure welding machine is necessary, which gives regular performance of the steel bar joints and can be operated by not sufficient skilled workers. The automatic gas pressure welding machine was developed in Japan, but this machine has many problems when applied in korean construction sites. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a korean automatic gas pressure welding machine to overcome this problems. To develop korean automatic gas pressure welding machine, the problems, which shows when applied in korean construction sites, need to be investigated. According to the investigation, counterproposals are presented for the pragmatical development of the korean automatic gas pressure welding machine.

  • In this paper, an automatic welding carriage is developed by wireless communication. In the developed system, a data transmission of a automatic welding line tracking is adopted by RF communication. Additional, a welding condition of the automatic welding carriage IS displayed by microprocessor. Therefore, the developed system can overcome the restriction of an operating distance and perform an accurate transmission of the control signal.

  • Lately, the demand for automation in the industries has increased and automation system has continuously installed in various industrial fields. But automation for shipbuilding industries is more difficult than others. Because we must cope with diverse ship types and owner's various requirements. Nevertheless, for the past several years a steady development on welding robot for shipbuilding has been going on. Existing automatic welding robots are operated separately and do not communicate with each other. In the existing facilities, although a unit of robot has a good performance, and if all of units are not operated systematically, we are not satisfied with results of our system. So we suggest an integration and operation method of system units. System integration methods applied to our system have in many cases lead to lower cost and shorter lead time.

  • At the present, a stud bolt welding was achieved by the manual method. The manual method caused many problems of work evasion. In order to work out these problems, an automatic welding system is designed for a stud bolt welding system. The system is composed of articulated type welding robot, stud gun, stud feeder, stud controller and various jig.
