A Construction Method of Expert Systems in an Integrated Environment

  • This paper introduces a method of constructing expert systems in an integrated environment for automatic software design. This integrated environment may be applicable from top-level system architecture design, data flow diagram design down to flow chart and coding. The system is integrated with three CASE tools, FSD (Functional Structure Diagram), DFD (Data Flow Diagram) and structured chart PAD (Problem Analysis Diagram), and respective expert systems with automatic design capability by reusing past design. The construction way of these expert systems is based on systematic acquisition of design knowledge stemmed from a systematic design work process of well-matured developers. The design knowledge is automatically acquired from respective documents and stored in the respective knowledge bases. By reusing it, a similar software system may be designed automatically. In order to develop these expert systems in a short period, these design knowledge is expressed by the unified frame structure, functions of th expert system units are partitioned mono-functions and then standardized components. As a result, the design cost of an expert system can be reduced to standard work procedures. Another feature of this paper is to introduce the integrated environment for automatic software design. This system features an essentially zero start-up cost for automatic design resulting in substantial saving of design man-hours in the resulting in substantial saving of design man-hours in the design life cycle, and the expected increase in software productivity after enough design experiences are accumulated.

전역 변수를 이용한 유동 심볼 자동 주문 시스템의 설계 (A design of automatic trading system by dynamic symbol using global variables)

  • This paper designs the dynamic symbol automatic trading system in Korean option market. This system is based on Multichart program which is convenient and efficient system trading tool. But the Multichart has an important restriction which has only one constant symbol per chart. This restriction causes very useful strategies impossible. The proposed design uses global variables, signal chart selection and position order exchange. So an automatic trading system with dynamic symbol works on Multichart program. To verify the proposed system, BS(Buythensell)-SB(Sellthenbuy) strategies are tested which uses the change of open-interest of stock index futures within a day. These strategies buy both call and put option in ATM at start candle and liquidate all at 12 o'clock and then sell both call and put option in ATM at 12 o'clock and also liquidate all at 14:40. From 23 March 2009 to 31 May 2010, 301-trading days, is adopted for experiment. As a result, the average daily profit rate of this simple strategies riches 1.09%. This profit rate is up to eight times of commision price which is 0.15 % per option trade. If the method which raises the profitable rate of wining trade or lower commission than 0.15% is found, these strategies make fascinated lossless trading system which is based on the proposed dynamic symbol automatic trading system.

Automatic Detection of the Middle Tooth Crown Part for Full Automatic Tooth Segmentation in Dental CT Images

  • In this paper, we propose the automatic detection method which find the middle part of tooth crown to start individual tooth segmentation. There have been many studies on the automation of individual tooth segmentation, but there are still many problems for full automation. Detection of middle part of tooth crown used as initial information for individual tooth segmentation is closely related to performance, but most studies are based on the assumption that they are already known or they can be represented by using a straight line. In this study, we have found that the jawbone curve is similar to the tooth alignment curve by spatially analyzing the CT image, and propose a method to automatically detect the middle part of tooth crown. The proposed method successfully uses the jawbone curves to successfully create a tooth alignment curve that is difficult to detect. As the middle part of tooth crown is in the form of a tooth alignment curve, the proposed method detects the middle part of tooth crown successfully. It has also been verified by experiments that the proposed method works well on real dental CT images.

Sensorless Sine-Wave Controller IC for PM Brushless Motor Employing Automatic Lead-Angle Compensation

  • This paper presents an advanced sensorless permanent magnet (PM) brushless motor controller integrated circuit (IC) employing an automatic lead-angle compensator. The proposed IC is composed of not only a sensorless sine-wave motor controller but also an isolated gate-driver and current self-sensing circuit. The fabricated IC operates in sensorless mode using a position estimator based on a sliding mode observer and an open-loop start-up. For high efficiency PM brushless motor driving, an automatic lead-angle control algorithm is employed, which improves the efficiency of a PM brushless motor system by tracking the minimum copper loss under various load and speed conditions. The fabricated IC is evaluated experimentally using a commercial 200 W PM brushless motor and power switches. The proposed IC is successfully operated without any additional sensors, and the proposed algorithm maintains the minimum current and maximum system efficiency under $0N{\cdot}m$ to $0.8N{\cdot}m$ load conditions. The proposed IC is a feasible sensorless speed controller for various applications with a wide range of load and speed conditions.

  • The function of the automatic train operation(ATO) system is to regulate the train ride comfort during start, acceleration and deceleration and execute operation of constant speed travelling and fixed point parking. The mathematical model for the train is presented by considering unknown disturbances which consist of start resistance, travelling resistance, slope resistance, curve resistance and so on. The speed control of ATO system is designed by considering the disturbances. The simulation is executed to verify the speed control performance and compare its performance with that of a PID-type ATO control system under the disturbances. Simulation results show that the control performance of gain scheduled control for ATO system is better than that of the conventional PID controller.

  • 원자력발전소 제어계통중 운전 정지에 많은 영향을 주고 제어하기 가장 까다로운 중기발생기 수위 제어는 특히 기동시 및 저 출력시에 자동제어는 물론 수동제어도 매우 어려운 상태이다. 중기발생시 수위특성을 분석하여 안정성이 보장된 증기발생기 수위 제어 계통의 제어방법을 개선하여 제어 성능과 신뢰도를 향상시킬 수 있는 알고리즘을 개발하고 디지털 제어 시스템으로 구현하여 실제 발전소에 설치 적용하였다.

Slip Control Strategy for an Automatic Transmission Vehicle

  • Modern automatic transmissions equip torque converters with lock-up clutches to reduce the energy loss of hydraulic systems. Instead of simply engaging the clutch disks, the new technology of clutch slip has been developed to improve the overall efficiency of power transmission. There are two major problems with the clutch slip system. The first is how to keep the slip between the two disks within a small range and the second is when to start or stop the slip. In this paper, the second problem is discussed in view of the vehicle economy. With a simple vehicle dynamic model, the fuel economy is calculated to determine the lock-up strategy. Then the lock-up strategy is developed for a slip schedule.

  • In this paper, we propose an algorithm for automatic segmentation of 3-dimesional brain MR images. In order to segment 3-dimensional brain MR images, we start segmentation from a mid-sagittal brain MR image. Then the segmented mid-sagittal brain MR image is used as a mask that is applied to the remaining lateral slices. Then we apply preprocessing, which includes thresholding and region-labeling, to the lateral slices, resulting in simplified 3-D brain MR images. Finally, we remove remaining problematic regions in the 3-dimensional brain MR image using the connectivity-based thresholding segmentation algorithm. Experiments show satisfactory results.

열차자동운전에 있어서 미지의 주행저항을 고려한 강인한 속도제어 (The Robust Speed Control on Automatic Train Operation Considering Unknown Running Resistance)

  • An automatic train operation(ATO) system executes the operation of constant speed travelling and fixed point parking by using microprocessors instead of driver's manual operation. This paper describes the mathematical model for the train considering unknown disturbances which consist of start resistance, travelling resistance, slope resistance, curve resistance, and so on. The speed controller of ATO system is designed by considering the disturbances. The simulation is executed to verify the speed control and fixed point parking performance and to compare its performance with that of a PID-type ATO control system under disturbances. Simulation results show that the control performance of gain scheduled control scheme for ATO system is better than that of the conventional PID controller.

패턴 가공에서의 기술적인 고려사항 (Technical Issues in Pattern Machining)

  • In stamping-die manufacturing, the first step is to build die patterns for lost wax casting process. A recent industry trend is to manufacture the die pattern using 3-axis NC machining. This study identifies technical considerations of the pattern machining caused by the characteristics of Styrofoam material, and proposes technical methods related to establishing a process plan and generating tool paths for optimizing the pattern machining. In this paper, the process plan includes the fellowing three items: 1) deter-mining a global machining sequence-a sequence of profile, top, bottom machining and two set-ups, 2) extracting machining features from a pattern model and merging them, and 3) determining a machining sequence of machining features. To each machining feature, this study determines the machining start point, generates the approach tool path, and proposes a tool path linking method fur reducing the distance of the cutter rapid motion. Finally, a smooth tool path generation and an automatic feedrate adjustment (AFA) method are introduced far raising the machining efficiency.
