  • Estimation of rebar quantity may be used as an index to evaluate the economic feasibility of structural designs. However, when using the software to estimate the rebar quantity, there may be some limitations such as data loss caused by human errors and estimation delays caused by increased input time, since the information on arrangement of rebar is inserted manually. To solve the problems of such quantity estimation software, it is necessary to develop a method on automatic input/output of structural design information for quantity estimation and an algorithm for accurate estimation of rebar quantity. The purpose of this study is to improve the existing rebar quantity estimation by connecting with the database on information related to rebar estimation and the algorithm for rebar estimation, in order to develop an algorithm to estimate an accurate, net rebar quantity. The study result can be used as basic data for development of software for efficient structural designs and automatic framework estimation of buildings.

  • This is concerned with the development and design of automatic maneuvering system using Differential Global Positioning System(DGPS). To achievement of autonomous maneuvering controller for giant ship, first, we investigated automatic maneuvering controller using DGPS in motor car. The sensors are configured with DGPS and digital compass. We calculated velocity and steering angle of motor car based on sensor signal. To design the controller, we derived the bicycle model and developed critically damped controller. The critically damped controller can be tracing previously appointed position in the fastest time. We are used a laptop computer to realize and the control algorithm is programmed by visual basic software. The obtained experimental results from developed system show unmanned motor car is good tracing planed positions. Hence, the system is looking forward to use the autonomous maneuvering control fur giant ship.

  • The automatic utility program in electrical facilities has specially developed to fulfill the needs of electric CAD designers . Designers had separately managed the designing factors such as design, estimates and calculation sheets . However, this automatic utility program produces calculation sheets and volume reports simultaneously while designed. The program also accumulates all data automatically in database in order to be utilized as the statistics and the design data for later project management. Moreover, it is easy for new and inexperienced users to access by using the standard electric symbol libraries and utility modules.

  • Design of Arrhythmia Automatic Diagnostic System Using Decision Table We have developed an arrhythmia automatic diagnostic system using decision table which is based on the criteria of Minnesota code. This system is divided into two Parts. One is wave detection algorithm using significant point extraction method, the other is arrhythmia diag- nostic algorthm. The proposed system allows physicians to diagnose more accurately by pro- viding the objective information about a lot of computer -processed ECG data.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the way of automatic building code checking for architectural drawings in the web environment to enhance the utility of CALS/EC standard drawings and efficiency of construction industry business. To fulfil this aim, the authors seek to standardize the architectural drawing automatic checking system by linked drawing information to the STEP based CALS/EC standard format. Therefore, the automatic building code checking system can represent a way of utilizing the relationship between the construction CALS/EC standard drawings and the related study as well as improve the efficient of the construction work by sharing a variety of drawing information.

  • Automatic tool changer(ATC) is typically provided to a machine tool to improve the efficiency of the machine tool significantly by saving time in moving, switching, installing and storing tools as well as adjusting a calibrating the machine tool. In this study, technical trend of machine tools automatic tool changer are analyzed by patent mapping. And future development direction of automatic tool changer has suggested. The analysis is carried out by using problem solution map for the applied patent during 2000 and 2010 in USA, Japan, Europe and Korea.

  • Assembly direction is used in order to confirm the generated assembly sequences in an automatic assembly sequence planning system. Moreover, assembly sequence planners can ascertain the feasibility of a sequence during simulation with assembly direction based in a CAD environment. In other words, assembly direction is essential for sequence optimizing and automatic generation. Based on the importance of assembly direction, this paper proposes a method to select the best direction for the generated assembly sequence using disassembly simulation and geometrical common area between assembled parts. Simultaneously, this idea can be applied to verify the generated assembly sequence. In this paper, the automatic selection of assembly direction and sequence correction system is designed and implemented. The developed algorithms and the implemented system are verified based on case study in the CAD environment.

  • Until recently performance requirements for automatic transmission fluids have continued to change to reflect the design changes of automatic transmission. The major purpose for these design changes is to improve the fuel economy and easy driving. To meet recent performance requirements fur automatic transmission the needs for special base oils Bike API Group III and IV base oils become larger. In this paper to evaluate the effects of base oils on performance of automatic transmission fluids formulated with API Group I,II,III and IV and Dexron III and Hereon Type additive package, Brookfield viscosity, oxidation test, SAE No.2 friction test and seal compatibility test were examined. From the test we knew that the use of Croup III and IV base oils in ATF has several benefits in low temperature viscosity, oxidation stability and SAE No.2 friction characteristics.

  • This study is for aspheric lens that is one of a core technology in the optical industry. The feature of a aspheric lens is not to have the spheric aberration. So in optical industry, aspheric lens are essential element to miniaturization, high effectiveness and light weight. In this study we applied a lay back-tracer method using the index of refraction to design aspheric lens. We developed the automatic design program for aspheric lens by user interfacing program VisualLISP in AutoCAD. And we manufactured aspheric lens and measured it.
