Study on Accelerated Life Test Design for a Gear Type Lubrication Pump for Automatic Transmission (자동변속기 윤활용 기어펌프의 가속 수명시험 설계에 관한 연구)

  • A gear type lubrication pump is an essential component of the powertrain and has a major role for supplying oil to the gears and bearings in automatic transmission with a hydraulic clutch. Therefore, the durability test code design of lubrication pump is very important to ensure the reliability of the entire transmission and the vehicle. In this study, the design process for the life testing of lubrication pump has been generalized by four steps. The four design steps of the life testing of lubrication pump consist of the configuration of load spectrum, rain flow counting and analysis of load level, the equivalent damage assessment and test code generation. In fact, the load spectrum should be obtained from the field operating condition but that kind of data is the top secret of manufacturers. This is not open to the public in general. So we could use the artificially simulated load spectrum instead of field obtained one and focused on the development of the general process for designing the life test of a gear type lubrication pump. Reliability goals for lubrication pump, pressure, torque, temperature and load spectrum, if present, as appropriate for the given test conditions, accelerated life testing for the lubrication pump can be designed by the developed design steps.

A Study of Algorithm for Press Layout Setup using Product design Data (제품 설계 데이터를 이용한 프레스 금형 Layout 설정을 위한 알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • Today most companies are designing their automobile shapes by using 3 dimensional CAD software, CATIA. And they used to design 2 dimensional press dies to do some elastic work on their products, but they are currently trying to make use of dimensional software, Pro-Engineer. In this case, they have to change the 3 dimensional product design data to the proper format data for the following process. This paper will show the data loss and the deformation during data transfer between CATIA and Pro-Engineer, and then suggest a solution for these problems. Product's surface will be automatically placed by automatic press tipping angle setting in CATIA to prevent the product from being stuck in the press die. The 2 dimensional section view which is based on the tipping angle setting is created by Z-map. And, to remove the data loss and the data deformation in pro-Engineer, the product surface are delivered to the next process after it is changed to the 2 dimensional Z-map curves in CATIA. finally, this paper suggests an algorithm to develop the automatic design program for the press layout which regenerates product shape surface from the previous process.

  • Recently, demands on the tapping machine are increased due to the case of a cell phone is changed to metal such as aluminum. The automatic tool changer (ATC) is one of the most important devices for the tapping machine related to the speed and energy consumption of the machine. To reduce the consumed energy and vibration, the dynamic modeling is essential for the ATC. In this paper, inverse dynamic modeling of a novel ATC mechanism is introduced. The proposed ATC mechanism is composed of a double four-bar mechanism with a circular tablet to generate continuous rotation of the tablet. The dynamic modeling is performed based on the Lagrange equation with a modeling for the contact between the four-bar and the tablet. Simulation results for various working conditions are proposed and analyzed for the prototype design. The dynamic modeling can be applied to determine the proper actuator and to reduce the vibration and consumed energy for the ATC machine.

  • This research aims to design on an automatic machine vision system to replace eye inspection of alternator spool which is one of the key automotive parts. The alternator spool, plastic extrusion part would have various defects like unfinished, crack and burr. Through the design failure examples the optimized fast machine vision system will be designed to inspect all spools also focuses on the low cost machine for the middle sized company as 2'nd automotive supplier. 3-dimensional design softwares of Pro-Engineer & CATIA were used and the system were built based on the design. The system will contribute to satisfy the cycle time and can inspect each part in an absolutely accurate method, which is sufficient for industrial applications.

  • This paper introduces API(Application Programming Interface) development technology for improving design efficiency which is concerned with special product design environment and development lead time of company's own. Even though most companies commercial CAD/CAM/CAE procucts. For reducing procuct development cycles and improving design efficiency. We have to automatize design processes through the standadizarion and parameterization and develop the specialized utilities as a infrastructure. The proposed API development methodology provides improved automatic 2D,3D modeling procedures and useful user interfaces at a small fraction of the cost and design effort.

  • As a basic study on the machine tools of modular structure, a Computer Aided Design of feed driving unit and an optimization of the dynamic characteristics of a machine tool structure are carried out.. Computer-aided design technique enables designers to save time and to easily do the job in variant design by effectively documenting design techniques and data. In this study a computer program package was developed for automatic design of a proper feed driving units by utilizing building block principle of OIWA CADET.

  • This study describes a computer aided design system on involute gear for power transmition. Input data for gear design are pressure angle $20^{\circ}$, transmitted power, gear volume, gear ratio, addendum ratio of rack, dedendum ratio of rack, edge radius of rack, allowable contact stress and allowable bending stress etc. Bending strength contact strength and scoring are considered as the design constraints. Method of optimization developed this study. The developed gear design system can design the optimized gear that minimize the number of pinion teeth with face tooth.

  • An davanced method for the automatic generation of parametric models in computer- aided design systems is required for most of two-dimensional model which is represented as a set of geometric elements, and constraining scheme formulas. The development system uses geometric constraints and support of topology parameters from feature recognition and grouping the design entities into optimal ones from pre-designed drawings. The aim of this paper is to present guidelines for the application and development of parametric design modules for the standard parts in mechanical system, the basic constitutional part of mold base, and other 2D features.

  • Current growth of VLSI design depends critically on the research and development of automatic layout tool. Automatic layout is composed of placement assigning a specific shape to a block and arranging the block on the layout surface and routing finding the interconnection of all the nets. Algorithms performing placement and routing impact on performance and area of VLSI design. Switchbox routing is a problem interconnecting each terminals on all four sides of the region, unlike channel routing. In this paper we propose a genetic algorithm searching solution space for switchbox routing problem. We compare the performance of proposed genetic algorithm(GA) for switchbox routing with that of other switchbox routing algorithm by analyzing the results of each implementation. Consequently experimental results show that out proposed algorithm reduce routing length and number of the via over the other switchbox routing algorithms.
