  • In this paper, Computer Colour Matching and Kitchen System (CCMKS) is developed on the basis of delphi package and one-chip processor with fuzzy-PID control. CCMKS will be widely used in the colour dyeing industry as an integrated colour matching and dispensing system which have more advantages than the conventional matching or dispensing system, when controlling the real dyeing processes. Delphi is utilized in making database and search/matching routes. The developed matching function reduces the search and matching time to about one third. One-chip processor is designed and manufactured for the distributed control of three-phase induction motors. Fuzzy-PID control is applied to the speed control of three-phase induction motors for a very precise weight of colour at CCMKS. The developed kitchen function decreases the dispensing time to about one twentieth. The experimental results show CCMKS has more excellent search time, more precise weight and much high fidelity than conventional colour matching or dispensing system, in the performance.

  • For safety reason ATS(Automatic Train Stop) system is being used, which is a kind of communication system with a feedback amplifier and a transformer on the train and wayside coils. The coils are highly resonant LC circuits, also have very high Q(Quality) factors. The Q factors of wayside ATS coils are to be maintained high enough for the amplifier to operate reliably. In this paper a novel Q measurement system is proposed. The system measures the resonant frequency and the bandwidth of the ATS coils, by controlling the phase difference between the transformer and the coil using digital PLL(Phase Locked Loop). The overall configuration and algorithms of the proposed system and the digital PLL control schemes are presented in details. The experimental waveforms are shown to verify the system performances.

  • This work presents a design technique for the implementation of the liquid level control system by based on the use of a single-chip microcontroller.   • The railway signaling systems operated in Korea are ATS system, ATP system for the low speed line and ATC system for the high speed line. The integrated onboard signaling system for the next-generation high-speed rail is progressed as the need for reducing a driver's load and controlling a train properly with the automatic translation of the onboard signaling system according to a trackside signaling system. In this paper the configuration of the integrated onboard signaling system and the interfaces of the subsystems is presented.

  • The paper attempts to design and implement the system which can remotely check visitors' speech or Image by a mobile phone. This system is designed to recognize who a visitor is through the automatic calling service, not through a short message, via the mobile phone, even when the home owner is outside. In general, door locks are controlled through the home Server, but it is more effective to control door locks by using DTMF signal from a real-time point of view. The technology suggested in this paper makes it possible to communicate between the visiter and the home owner by making a phone call to tile home owner's mobile phone automatically when the visiter visits the house even if the home owner is outside, and if necessary, it allows for the home owner to control the door lock remotely. Thanks to the system, the home owner is not restricted by time or space for checking the visitor's identification and controlling the door lock. In addition, the security system is improved by changing from the existing password form to the combination of password and speaker verification lot the verification procedure required for controlling the door lock and setting the environment under consideration of any disadvantages which may occur when the mobile Phone is lost. Also, any existing problems such as reconnection to tile network for controlling tile door lock are solved by controlling the door lock in real time by use of DTMF signal while on the phone.

  • As the development of autonomous vehicles becomes realistic, many automobile manufacturers and components producers aim to develop 'completely autonomous driving'. ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) which has been applied in automobile recently, supports the driver in controlling lane maintenance, speed and direction in a single lane based on limited road environment. Although technologies of obstacles avoidance on the obstacle environment have been developed, they concentrates on simple obstacle avoidances, not considering the control of the actual vehicle in the real situation which makes drivers feel unsafe from the sudden change of the wheel and the speed of the vehicle. In order to develop the 'completely autonomous driving' automobile which perceives the surrounding environment by itself and operates, ability of the vehicle should be enhanced in a way human driver does. In this sense, this paper intends to establish a strategy with which autonomous vehicles behave human-friendly based on vehicle dynamics through the reinforcement learning that is based on Q-learning, a type of machine learning. The obstacle avoidance reinforcement learning proceeded in 5 simulations. The reward rule has been set in the experiment so that the car can learn by itself with recurring events, allowing the experiment to have the similar environment to the one when humans drive. Driving Simulator has been used to verify results of the reinforcement learning. The ultimate goal of this study is to enable autonomous vehicles avoid obstacles in a human-friendly way when obstacles appear in their sight, using controlling methods that have previously been learned in various conditions through the reinforcement learning.

Implementation of Ubiquitous Greenhouse Management System Using Sensor Network (센서 네트워크를 활용한 유비쿼터스 온실관리시스템 구현)

  • This paper proposes a Ubiquitous Greenhouse Management System (UGMS) based on USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) which can be real-time monitoring and controlling of greenhouse's facilities by collecting environment and soil information with environment and soil sensors, and CCTV camera. The existing systems were controlled simply by temperature. Also, it was possible to monitor only at control room in a greenhouse. For solving problems of the exiting system, our system can remotely monitor and control greenhouse by considering environment information. The detail components are as follows. The system includes the sensor manager and the CCTV manager to gather and manage greenhouse information with soil and the environment sensors, and camera. Also the system has the greenhouse database storing greenhouse information and the greenhouse server transmitting greenhouse information to the GUI and controlling greenhouse. Finally, the GUI showing greenhouse condition to users exists in our system. To verify the executability of the UGMS, after developing the greenhouse model, we confirmed that our system could monitor and control the greenhouse condition at remote GUI by applying the UGMS's components to the model.

Design and implementation of remote controlling wireless transmission unit using duplex-FSK (Duplex-FSK 원격제어 무선 전송부 설계 및 제작)

  • The FSK duplex remote controlling wireless transmission units with a common local oscillator circuit for transmitter and receiver are designed and implemented in this paper. In the FSK full-duplex the channel frequency for Tx/Rx is allocated, a common switching oscillator circuit for Tx/Rx is designed in the FSK half-duplex scheme. Both of FSK units get functions of automatic channel detection for busy channels and channel configuration for an idle channel in order to reduce the RF channel interference and are designed as a remote controller with small-sized low power of 10mW and the 400MHz-colpitz type PLL configuration of 50kHz channel separation. The full-duplex Tx/Rx link frequency gets frequency difference of 42.8MHz, which is double of 21.4MHz IF frequency.

  • In this paper, We implement a power-saving and efficient measures in buildings using the smart-meter. In order to save electric power energy, We propose an improved automatic power-factor controller(APFC) and demand control measures. This is achieved by controlling directly circuit breakers and the capacitor bank feeders in real time via a two-way smart-meter's ICT skills. Improved APFC is minimizing installation costs by series-parallel connecting heterologous capacitors to form a more diverse capacitor banking and controlling using the smart-meter. In order to suppress the demand power, We have designed a smart-meter with communication functions using Atmel's AVR465 and tested an operated lodging building for 24-hours. As a result, We made sure to always retained more than 95% power factor and did not occur over compensation.

  • The AIS(Automatic Identification System) has been widely used for ship safety at sea over the last 10 years. The AIS traffic load at VDL(VHF Data Link) has been continuously increased. As the traffic load at VDL increases, the quality of AIS service may be deteriorated. In the previous research, the AIS traffic has been analyzed in the major ports of Korea, and its problem due to traffic overload has been suggested. However, no solutions has been given so far. In this paper, the method of autimatically controlling the VDL traffic at AIS base station is represented.
