A Study on the Evaluation of Brinell Standard Hardness Tester and Automatic Indentation Measurement System (브리넬 경도 표준 시험기 및 압입 자국 자동 측정장치의 특성 평가에 대한 연구)

  • Evaluation of Brinell standard hardness tester was carried out to secure its application as a national standard for Brinell hardness. Accuracies and reliabilities in load application, indenter diameter and indentation measurement were tested through evaluation of these components. The accuracies of load application for various loading conditions were within the limit of ISO and KS specifications. Errors in the indentation measurement due to the difference in personnel characters were successfully removed by utilising automatic indentation measurement system. In overall, the tester and the indentation measuring system were found to be eligible as a national standard of Brinell hardness.

  • Currently, the Busan cooperative fish market follows a traditional market style. This study first investigates the current conditions and environment of the market, and to modernize the market, it proposes a new automatic unloading system based on the benchmark of Namhae Suhyup. In this system, a Korean-type suction fish vacuum pump is employed to increase the loading time. An automatic grader with an adjusting device for inclined angles and a weighing machine with an automatic alignment device are proposed. In addition, a folding machine is employed to prepare boxes. The specifications for each subsystem are provided. By implementing this system, the freshness of fish can be maintained and the sellers can earn more. This system can also be applied to the cooling system of the fish reservoir of littoral sea fishing boats.

  • One of the most important item for insuring the stability of ground in urban deep excavation site near by major structure such as subway is displacement control of earth retaining wall. The field monitoring system is classified by two types as manual system and automatic system. The application case of latter type of field monitoring is increased because real time measurement is possible in automatic system and that is correspondent with the recent constructional trend. Though the automatic monitoring system is more useful and advanced than manual monitoring system, accuracy of the system is not verified sufficiently. It was examined that the reliance of automatic monitoring system in this paper through the comparison of monitoring result obtained one of deep urban excavation site in which the each type of monitoring system was executed concurrently. Result of the examination is that the two types of monitoring system is generally alike in view of monitoring result, so the engineering reliance of automatic system was confirmed in case site. This study was researched in restricted one case site, so it is expected more precise analysis from security of more data monitored and progressive study.

  • The tool wear that is developed by long-term machining in mold manufacturing with machining center makes a severe influence to the accuracy and the surface roughness. In this reason, tool-wear supervising system which has guaranteed high accuracy and high speed is needed to improve the measurement quality. Touching probe and touch sensor are widely used to measure the tool profile at on-machine measurement. In this paper, using the newly developed electric touch point measuring system, the Automatic Tool Compensation System is developed to correct the error of tool diameter resulted from the wear, and the operating method of this system is also provided.

Compared with existing 3D measurement systems. this system achieved automatically the inspection.   • This paper presents a machine vision system, which inspects the measurement of the ALC block on a real-time basis in the production process. The automatic measurement system was established with a CCD camera, an image grabber, and a personal computer without using assembled measurement equipment. Images obtained by this system was processed by an algorithm, specially designed for an enhanced measurement accuracy. For the realization of the proposed algorithm, a preprocessing method that can be applied to overcome uneven lighting environment, boundary decision method, unit length decision method in uneven condition with rocking objects, and a projection of region using pixel summation are developed. From our experimental results, we could find that the required measurement accuracy specification is sufficiently satisfied by using the proposed method.

  • A system design technique of automatic thickness measurement and defect inspection system, which measures the thickness of the ALC(Autoclaved Lightweight Concrete) block and inspects the defect on a realtime basis is proposed. The image processing system was established with a CCD camera, an image grabber, and a personal computer without using assembled measurement equipment. The image obtained by this system was analyzed by a devised algorithm, specially designed for the enhanced measurement accuracy. For the realization of the proposed algorithm, the preprocessing method that can be applied to overcome uneven lighting environment, an enhanced edge decision method using 8 edge-pairs with irregular and rough surface, the unit length decision method in uneven condition with rocking objects, and the curvature calibration method of camera using a constructed grid are developed. The experimental results, show that the required measurement accuracy specification is sufficiently satisfied using our proposed method.
