Blood glucose curves in the management for diabetic patients have several limitations including intermittent assessment of blood glucose concentration, hospitalization, patient restraint, and repeated phlebotomy. The aim of this study was to apply and evaluate a wireless continuous glucose monitoring system (CGMS) in healthy dogs. Subcutaneous interstitial glucose concentrations in 7 dogs were continuously monitored and recorded by wireless CGMS. During induced hyperglycemia, the interstitial glucose concentrations were compared with whole blood glucose concentrations measured by glucometer and serum glucose concentrations measured by automated chemistry analyzer, respectively. There were no significant differences among interstitial, whole blood and serum glucose concentrations. The interstitial glucose concentrations had a good correlation to serum glucose concentrations. The real-time wireless CGMS is a valuable tool for monitoring system of glucose concentrations in dogs. Use of the CGMS for diabetic patients will provide accurate information over traditional blood glucose curves.
Serious controls and cares using ID numbers and barcode needed throughly to have appropriate management in clinical tissues and nucleic acids inventories because these samples are the most essential and important materials in the experimental research laboratories. While almost all of the laboratories using and handling DNA samples as starting materials in their research, problems such as mixing up of two or more different samples together, contamination with other samples, and/or mistakes can occur, especially when it comes with large number of samples. These problems are rather frequent even though researchers pay more attentions to be far away from these obstacles. It has been such a long time since PCR became useful as an important and essential biological research tool among lots of bio-scientific research methods. In this research, we tried to set up a simple and cost-effective genotyping method using PCR and agarose gels, instead of expensive automated machines, for identification and discrimination among those DNA samples, as a kind of low level quality control and sample inventory management.

How to discover router vulnerabilities effectively and automatically is a critical problem to ensure network and information security. Previous research on router security is mostly about the technology of exploiting known flaws of routers. Fuzzing is a famous automated vulnerability finding technology; however, traditional Fuzzing tools are designed for testing network applications or other software. These tools are not or partly not suitable for testing routers. This paper designs a framework of discovering router protocol vulnerabilities, and proposes a mathematical model Two-stage Fuzzing Test Cases Generator(TFTCG) that improves previous methods to generate test cases. We have developed a tool called RPFuzzer based on TFTCG. RPFuzzer monitors routers by sending normal packets, keeping watch on CPU utilization and checking system logs, which can detect DoS, router reboot and so on. RPFuzzer' debugger based on modified Dynamips, which can record register values when an exception occurs. Finally, we experiment on the SNMP protocol, find 8 vulnerabilities, of which there are five unreleased vulnerabilities. The experiment has proved the effectiveness of RPFuzzer.
We developed an algorithm to identify and determine periods of variable sources. With its robustness and high speed, it is expected to become an useful tool for surveys with large volume of data. This new scheme consists of an initial coarse. process of finding several candidate periods followed by a secondary process of much finer period search. With this multi-step approach, best candidates among statistically possible periods are produced without human supervision and also without any prior assumption on the nature of the variable star in question. We tested our algorithm with 381 stars taken from the ASAS survey and the result is encouraging. In about $76\%$ cases, our results are nearly identical as their published periods. Our algorithm failed to provide convincing periods for only about $10\%$ cases. For the remaining $14\%$, our results significantly differ from their periods. We show that, in many of these cases, our periods are superior and much closer to the true periods. However, the existence of failures, and also periods sometimes worse than manually controlled results, indicates that this algorithm needs further improvement. Nevertheless, the present experiment shows that this is a positive step toward a fully automated period analysis for future variability surveys.
The importance of the risk analysis tool has been recognized and its use also has been emphasized by a number of researchers recently The methodology were examined but neither algorithms nor practical applications have been implemented or practiced in Korea. In this paper, the architecture of the Buddy System, one of the automated risk assessment tools. is analyzed in depth to provide the algorithmic understanding and to promote the development of the risk analysis methodology. The Buddy System mainly uses three main factors of vulnerability, threat and countermeasures as a nucleus of the qualatative analysis with the modified loss expectancy value. These factors are identified and assessed by the separation of duties between the end user and security analyst. The Buddy System uses five axioms as its bases of assessment algorithm and the assessed vulnerability level is strictly within these axioms. Since the In-place countermeasures reduce the vulnerability level up to a certain level. the security analyst may use "what if " model to examine the impact of additional countermeasures by proposing each to reduce the vulnerability level further to within the acceptable range. The emphasis on the qualitative approach on vulnerability leveling is very well balanced with the quantitative analysis that the system performance is prominent.prominent.

Construction is a competitive industry and successful contractors must be able to win bids to obtain projects. Cash flow analysis not only determines actual profit at the end of the project, but also estimates required cash resources or cash ballances at the end of every month. Cash flow analysis is important in managing a construction project; however, it requires extensive information that is not immediately available to the general contractor. Before contractors can perform cash flow analysis, they must first complete a series of pre-requisites such as the quantity take off, scheduling, and cost estimating, followed by accurate assessments of project costs incurred and billable progress made. Consequently, cash flow analysis is currently a lengthy, uncertain process. This paper suggests improved cash flow analysis can be developed using data extraction in Building Information Modeling (BIM). BIM models contain a wealth of information and tools have been developed to automate a series of process such as quantity takeoff, scheduling, and estimating. This paper describes a prototype tool to support BIM-based, automated cash flow analysis.

Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) has kept the largest amount of gene-expression microarray data that have grown exponentially. Microarray data in GEO have been generated in many different formats and often lack standardized annotation and documentation. It is hard to know if preprocessing has been applied to a dataset or not and in what way. Standard-based integration of heterogeneous data formats and metadata is necessary for comprehensive data query, analysis and mining. We attempted to integrate the heterogeneous microarray data in GEO based on Minimum Information About a Microarray Experiment (MIAME) standard. We unified the data fields of GEO Data table and mapped the attributes of GEO metadata into MIAME elements. We also discriminated non-preprocessed raw datasets from others and processed ones by using a two-step classification method. Most of the procedures were developed as semi-automated algorithms with some degree of text mining techniques. We localized 2,967 Platforms, 4,867 Series and 103,590 Samples with covering 279 organisms, integrated them into a standard-based relational schema and developed a comprehensive query interface to extract. Our tool, GEOQuest is available at http://www.snubi.org/software/GEOQuest/.
In recent years, LSI devices have become more powerful and lower-priced, caused by a development of various wafer materials and an increase in the diameter of wafers. On the other hand, these have created some serious problems in manufacturing of wafers because materials used as semiconductor substrate are very brittle. In view of this fact, there are some trials to apply shear-mode(or ductile-mode) grinding for efficient manufacturing of semiconductor wafers instead of conventional lapping process. In fact grinding process that has not only more excellent degree of accuracy but also more adaptable to fully automated manufacturing than lapping, is already used in Si machining field. This paper described the elementary studies to establish the grinding technology of wafers. First, we investigated the variation of grinding force and the transition of grinding mode as various grinding conditions. Then, it was inspected that the change of grinding force affected the integrity such as the topography and the roughness of ground surfaces, and led to the chemical defects generation and distribution in damaged layer. The degree of defects was estimated by FT-IR(Fourier Transformed Infrared) Spectroscopy and Auger Electron Spectroscopy
Leakage detection system can possibly locate leak point without laboratory analysis. Several different types of sensors provide these benefits. But the use of these technologies is not widespread, mainly because of cost. Each of the leakage detection systems available has different advantages and disadvantages. The ideal system would be affordable, durable enough to last through the life of the landfill, automated, and applicable to all types of landfills. The laboratory tests were performed to investigate the relationship between electrical resistivity and the unsaturated subsurface condition and to evaluate the contamination due to leachate based on measuring electrical resistivity. The results of experiment show that the electrical resistivity of soil decreases as moisture density increases. The electrical resistivity of soil decreases as the concentration of leachate in pore fluid increases. These facts indicate that electrical resistivity method can be a promising tool in detecting of leachate. Also, the field model tests were conducted to verify that detection of leachate leak point on detection system using electrical characteristics is accurate. Field model test results of leakage detection system imply that the leakage detection system using electrical characteristics have the great potential of detecting exactly the leak point of leachate.
