VLM-ST 공정의 완전 자동화를 위한 2단계 절단 경로 데이터 생성 방법에 관한 연구 (Generation of Cutting Path Data for Two Steps of the Cutting Process in Full- Automated VLM-ST)

  • A novel rapid prototyping (RP) process, a full-automated transfer type variable lamination manufacturing process (Full-automated VLM-ST) has been developed. In the full-automated VLM-ST process, a vacuum chuck and a rectilinear motion system transfer the EPS foam material in the form of the plate with two pilot holes to the rotary supporting stage. The supplied material is then cut into an automated unit shape layer (AUSL) with a desired width, a desired length, a desired slope on the side surface, and a pair of reference shapes, which is called the guide shape (GS)’, including two pilot holes in accordance with CAD data through cutting in two steps using a four-axis synchronized hotwire cutter. Then, each AUSL is stacked by setting each AUSL with two pilot holes in the building plate with two pilot pins, and subsequently, adhesive is applied onto the top surface of the stacked AUSL by a bonding roller and pressure is simultaneously given to the bottom surface of the stacked AUSL. Finally, three-dimensional shapes are rapidly and automatically fabricated. This paper describes the method to generate guide shapes in AUSL data for the full-automated VLM-ST process. In order to examine the applicability of the method to generate guide shapes, three-dimensional shapes, such as a piston shape and a human head shape, are fabricated from the full-automated VLM-ST apparatus.

  • The development of IT and explosively growing number of Internet users are rapidly spreading and developing e-commerce, while creating diverse on-line transaction methods such as a negotiation, a reverse auction, and a bid. Among these transaction methods, the transactions by means of a negotiation are being made for goods that have no posted price. In particular, the transactions by means of a negotiation are expected to be widely used in the B2B. In order to determine their transportation costs, shippers usually make negotiations with many transporters and logistics companies. And before long, these negotiations are expected to be made on an on-line automated negotiation system. Because of this, this study has tried to develop an automated negotiation methodology that is absolutely necessary for an on-line automated negotiation. This study has estimated and selected the evaluation functions for multi-lateral negotiators' proposals, thus developing an automated negotiation methodology. As a result of this study, a new direction for an automated negotiation has been suggested. Also we expect that this study will be widely used in the automated negotiation of diverse fields.

6자유도 원형체외고정기 조정을 위한 자동화 시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (A Development of the Automated System for Adjusting the Hexapod Circular Fixator)

  • 본 논문에서 우리는 6자유도 원형 체외고정기의 조정을 위한 자동화 시스템에 관한 연구를 진행하였다. 6자유도 원형체외 고정기 자동화시스템은 HCF(Hexapod Circular Fixaotr)라는 체외 고정기를 자동화 한 것으로 HCF의 조정을 위한 소프트웨어와 HCF의 스트럿을 조정해주는 자동화 스트럿으로 구성된다. HCF는 일리자로프 고정기의 한 형태로서, 대표적인 병렬형 로봇인 스튜어트 플랫폼과 유사한 기구적 구조를 갖는다. HCF 조정 소프트웨어는 복잡한 골 변형의 교정을 쉽게 하기위한 소프트웨어로서, X-ray 사진을 이용하여 데이터를 획득한 후, 이 데이터를 HCF 조정 소프트웨어에 입력하여 스트럿의 길이 조정 값을 구한다. 또한 여기서 구한 스트럿 길이 조정 값을 자동화 스트럿 컨트롤러로 입력하여, 자동화 스트럿은 계획된 위치만큼 자동으로 구동된다. 또한 HCF 조정 소프트웨어 데이터는 자동화 스트럿 없이 일반 스트럿을 이용하여 HCF 조정을 위해 사용될 수 있다. 제안된 시스템은 실험을 통하여 그 타당성을 검증하였다.

Development of an AutoFlat program for the acquisition of effective flat images in the automated observation system

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an observation program for obtaining effective flat images that are necessary for photometric observation. The development of the program was achieved by improving the existing method for obtaining twilight flat images. The existing method for obtaining twilight flat images acquires flat images by observing the sky light after sunset or light before sunrise. The decision of when to observe flat images at each night is solely dependent on the judgment of an observer, and thus the obtained flat images for particular nights may not be clean. Especially, in the case of the observatories where an automated observation system is in operation, there is a difficulty that an observer should pay attention during sunrise and sunset in order to obtain flat images. In this study, a computer program is developed to improve this inconvenience and to efficiently perform photometric observation in the observatories where an automated observation system is applied. This program can obtain flat images by calculating the time for obtaining flat images automatically and the exposure time using a numerically calculated function. When obtaining twilight flat images at dusk and at dawn, the developed program performs automated observation and provides effective flat images by acquiring appropriate exposure time considering the sunrise and sunset times that vary depending on the day of observation. The code for performing this task was added to Obs Tool II (Yoon et al. 2006), which is the automated observation system of the Chungbuk National University Observatory, and the usefulness of the developed program was examined by performing an actual automated observation. If this program is applied to other observatories where automated observation is in operation, it is expected that stable and high-quality flat images could be obtained, which can be used for the pre-processing of photometric observation data.

  • Demands for higher productivity in container terminal environments continues to escalate consideration of equipment upgrades. And then transportation of containers using the automated container crane becomes more and more important for productivity enhancements. Introducing a hybrid control architecture to the container crane, it provides a effective means to the automated operation of the container crane. This paper addresses the methodology for automation of container cranes. In addition, this paper proposes a new control architecture for the automated container crane and explains each component of that architecture. The control architecture is composed of a deliberative control layer, a sequencing layer, and a reactive control layer. The proposed architecture is applied to a dual-hoist double-trolley container crane.

  • This paper describes a web-based system called DESIGNER for the analysis and design for automated material handling equipment(MHE) applications in manufacturing. DESIGNER models the processes for system integration, economic analysis, performance analysis, and automated storage/retrieval system(AS/RS) design. Based on the information specified by users, the various analysis modules are invoked to meet the needs of the material handling applications. The results of the analyses provide system users with useful data for material handling system design and decision on investment in automated MHE. Example problems are also presented to demonstrate the use of the system.

전북지역 내의류 생산자동화에 대한 실태 조사 연구 (A Study on the Survey of the Automated Underwear Manufacture in Jeonbuk Area)

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest the data of base for automated underwear manufacture by analyzing the technology of the automated underwear manufacturing facilities in the area of Jeonbuk with a focus on Jeonju and Iksan. The case study samples were 6 underwear firms. The results were as follows : 1. Automated underwear manufacturing systems in the area of JeonBuk introduced over the entire period between 1990 and 1997. Most of Their production type was multi-kind and small-quantity production. 2. They were using Gerber, Assyst, Lectra, Microdynamics and Investronica systems as the CAD/CAM system, of which the Gerber system was mostly used by them. 3. In the stage of production planning and in the stage of preparation for production, most of them realized automation, but in the stage of main production, every firm did not realize automation. In most cases, they used both the stage of mechanization and the stage of unit process automation.

Variable Selection and Outlier Detection for Automated K-means Clustering

  • An important problem in cluster analysis is the selection of variables that define cluster structure that also eliminate noisy variables that mask cluster structure; in addition, outlier detection is a fundamental task for cluster analysis. Here we provide an automated K-means clustering process combined with variable selection and outlier identification. The Automated K-means clustering procedure consists of three processes: (i) automatically calculating the cluster number and initial cluster center whenever a new variable is added, (ii) identifying outliers for each cluster depending on used variables, (iii) selecting variables defining cluster structure in a forward manner. To select variables, we applied VS-KM (variable-selection heuristic for K-means clustering) procedure (Brusco and Cradit, 2001). To identify outliers, we used a hybrid approach combining a clustering based approach and distance based approach. Simulation results indicate that the proposed automated K-means clustering procedure is effective to select variables and identify outliers.   • An automated machining system involves concurrent use of manufacturing resources, alternative process plans, and flexible routings. High investment in the installation of automated facilities requires an efficient scheduling system that is able to allocate the resources specified for operations over a scheduling horizon. The primary emphasis of this paper is to generate schedules that accurately reflect details of the automated environment and the objectives stated for the system. In this paper, a scheduling algorithm for automated machining is presented. Using the previous simulation research for this topic, a rule-based scheduling system is constructed. An architecture for an intelligent scheduling system is proposed, and the system has a high potential to provide efficient schedules based on the task-specific knowledge for the dynamic scheduling environment
