Application of a Linear Programming in a Taxi Dispatching System (수송문제 선형계획기법을 응용한 모범택시의 배차시스템 개발)

  • Many taxis called "Mobum" in Seoul are empty and waiting along the curb during the day time. However, it is almost impossible for elderly and handicapped people, and women carrying babies to use them .It is because they can not serve passengers who request services by phone. If taxis, expecially "Mobum" taxis which offer high quality services, can be dispatched based on requests by phone, not only elderly and handicapped people but also auto commuters will easily call and use them. This paper shows a taxi dispatching system. The system minimizes the total empty vehicle hours under given number of empty vehicles and passengers and their locations. As a result, the system maximizes number of services and revenue under given number of taxis. The system adopts a well -known linear programming model and the model can fast and easily be solved by PC level linear programming packages. Also, practical solutions of the system's constraints such as size and travel time forecast are discussed.ecast are discussed.

  • Full scale durability test in the laboratory is an essential of any fatigue life evaluation of components or structures of the automotive vehicle. Component testing is particularly important in today's highly competitive industries where the design to reduce weight and production costs must be balanced with the necessity to avoid expensive service failure. Generally, Hydraulic road simulator is used to carry out the fatigue test and the vibration test. In this paper, the algorithm and software to realize the real road profile are developed. The operation software for simultaneously controlled multi-axial simulator is developed and the input and output data are displayed window based PC controller in real time. The software to generate the real road profile are developed. This paper developed a road profile reappearance software and simultaneously apply 3-axial actuator to white noise, so we verified the propriety of reappearance software through accomplishes an real test.

  • In this study, based on numerical map GIS-T Dataset build and by using ArcGIS Network Analysis emergency vehicle's reach time were analyzed. AutoCad using 1: 50,000 based on roads and hospitals of numerical map were creating a Polyline and Point and Network Dataset made using ArcCatalog. ArcGIS Analysis setting the interval for the period reached 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 15 minutes was set and then U-Turn was set to not allow because U-turn takes a long time to calculate and does not happen often on the real road. Intersection of the passage of time, considering that the emergency vehicles were set to 3 seconds. To expand by taking advantage of this facility on Vulnerable area will be used as base material. If we focus on analyzing the emergency activity to convert little data, To prepare for disaster and disaster will be able to use the materials.

Development of an Index for the Evaluation of Intake Booming Noise of a Passenger Car (차량의 흡기부밍소음 평가지수 개발)

  • In this paper, an index for the evaluation of vehicle intake booming noise is developed through a correlation analysis of objective measurement data and subjective evaluation data. First, intake orifice noise is measured at the wide-open test condition. And then, acoustic transfer function between intake orifice noise and interior noise at the steady state condition is estimated. Simultaneously, subjective evaluation was carried out with a ten-scale score by 8 engineers. Next, the correlation analysis between the psycho-acoustic parameters derived from the measured data and the subjective evaluation is performed. The most critical factor was determined and the corresponding index for the intake booming noise is obtained from the multiple factor regression method. At last, the effectiveness of the proposed index is validated.

A Study on Construction of 3D Virtual Space from Digital Map (전자지도를 이용한 3차원 가상공간 구축에 관한 연구)

  • This study describes a construction procedure of 3D virtual space using the NGIS data and its application to simulation. 3D space topography is modeled by using DEM consisted with triangular regular network. The elevations of nodal points of DEM are calculated through the interpolation with contour line and elevation points from the NGIS. Also, data for 2D roads and their environments, such as trees, lamps, and traffic signals, were extracted from the NGIS and projected on the DEM surfaces to get 3D virtual space. To give a reality to 3D virtual space and accelerate its graphic speed, data were converted into the directX format. It is believed that the virtual space constructed in this work can be applicable to the ubiqutous because DEM data can be converted to the AutoCAD format and ASCII code.

  • Based on fuzzy control algorithm this paper constructed fuzzy controller for automated vehicles. For passenger's convenience especially comfortability controller need to reduce the frequency of input variable's changing. So we established membership functions for comfortability as well as speed following. It made possible to control comfortability directly. To demonstration the efficiency of fuzzy controller, we carried out simulation with a automobile's transfer function. Also we compared the difference of input variable. By comparing two controller's response, we can confirm the merit of fuzzy controller about comfortability. Fuzzy controller can reduce input changing frequency.

  • Auto-makers can only remain competitive by producing high quality vehicles in an efficient way. In designing a production line, one of the most important objectives of digital manufacturing is to verify design errors as early as possible. In terms of the cost and time saving, it is very essential to start the construction of a production line with a proven design which is error-free. Likewise, this paper aims to implement PLC verification using an example. The verification in automobile manufacturing means verifying PLC program, which control automatic devices. In this paper, we built a virtual factory to implement PLC simulation and introduced verification procedure using PLC Studio. Finally, we can prove the availability for the PLC verification.

  • Urban transit vehicle that uses electrical energy, is faster, safer and energy-efficient public transit than other means. As a Research method, the Matlab/Simulink are used to modeling a regenerative brake-capable train, and actual parameters such as powering and braking characteristics, all kinds of resistance, passenger load, velocity, gradient, radius of curve etc and powering and breaking commands per time or distance are inputted to train's dynamic equation, then a simulation program is made and used to yield train driving pattern and driving time and the amount of driving energy used thereby at auto and manual operation and at all sector.

Endurance Evaluation and Fatigue Property fo Axle Housing (Axle Housing의 내구성 판단과 피로특성)

  • Fatigue failure of axle housing could cause many injuries and much financial loss. This challenges the engineer to improve design decisions involving fatigue. Endurance evaluation of axle housing is great interest to auto-mobile manufacturers for the sake of safety and reliability. Axle housing is subjected to gross vehicle weight(G.V.W)as mean load and alternating load. Theoretical design diagram involving mean and alternating stresses is used for the evaluation of axle housing fatigue endurance with the equivalent stress of fatigue critical area on the axle housing. Four point bending fatigue tests on axle housing with constant amplitude loading at approximately R=0 were performed with 50 ton servohydraulic strucural fatigue testing machine developed at KIMM. Specimens were made with the same material STKM 13B as the axle housing and tested to obtain S_N data. Five specimens of STKM 13B were tested at 253.61 MPa and weibull distribution was obtained at the same stress level. Material data and structural data were compares and fatigue stress property factor and fatigue life property factor were obtained.
