  • Biometric authentication is considered as being an efficient authentication method, since a user is not required to possess or memorize any other information other than biometrics. However, since biometric information is sensitive and could be permanently unavailable in case of revealing that information just once, it is essential to preserve privacy of biometrics. In addition, since noise is inherent in the user of biometric recognition technologies, the biometric authentication needs to handle the noise. Recently, biometric authentication protocols using fuzzy extractor have been actively researched, but the fuzzy extractor-based authentication has a problem that a user should memorize an additional information, called helper data, to deal with their noisy biometric information. In this paper, we propose a novel biometric authentication protocol using Hidden Vector Key Encapsulation Mechanism(HV-KEM) which is one of functional encryption schemes. A primary advantage of our protocol is that a user does not need to possess or memorize any additional information. We propose security requirements of HV-KEM necessary for constructing biometric authentication protocols, and analyze our proposed protocol in terms of correctness, security, and efficiency.

  • Recently, the investment and study competition regarding machine running is accelerating mainly with Google, Amazon, Microsoft and other leading companies in the field of artificial intelligence. The security weakness of virtualization technology security structure have been a serious issue continuously. Also, in most cases, the internal data security depend on the virtualization security technology of platform provider. This is because the existing software, hardware security technology is hard to access to the field of virtualization and the efficiency of data analysis and processing in security function is relatively low. This thesis have applied user significant information to machine learning algorithm, created security authentication vector able to learn to provide with a method which the security authentication can be conducted in the field of virtualization. As the result of performance analysis, the interior transmission efficiency of authentication vector in virtualization environment, high efficiency of operation method, and safety regarding the major formation parameter were demonstrated.

  • In this paper, we propose a new closest vector problem based interactive proof that is useful for authentication. Contribution of this paper is that the proposed protocol does not use a special form of a lattice, but a general lattice, which makes the protocol design very simple and easy to be proved. We prove its security in terms of completeness, soundness, simulatability.

  • The PCA(Principal Component Analysis) algorithm is widely used as a technique of expressing the eigenvectors of the covariance matrix that best represents the characteristics of the data and reducing the high dimensional vector to a low dimensional vector. In this paper, we have developed a personal authentication method based on ECG using principal component analysis. The proposed method showed excellent recognition performance of 98.2 [%] when it was experimented using electrocardiogram data obtained at weekly intervals. Therefore, it can be seen that it is useful for personal authentication by reducing the dimension without changing the information on the variability and the correlation set variable existing in the electrocardiogram data by using the principal component analysis technique.

  • In this paper, we propose a USIM-based Authentication Scheme for 3GPP Network Access. The proposed scheme improves the problems of existing authentication protocol in 3GPP Network such as sequence number synchronization problem, the storage overhead of authentication data, and bandwidth consumption between Serving Network and Home Network. Our proposal is based on the USIM-based Authentication and Key Agreement Protocol that is defined in 3GPP Specification. In our scheme, mobile nodes share a SK with Serving Network and use a time stamp when mobile nodes are performing an authentication procedure with Serving Network. By using time stamp, there is no reason for using sequence number to match the authentication vector between mobile nodes and networks. So, synchronization problem can be solved in our scheme. As well as our scheme uses an authentication vector, the storage overhead of authentication data in Serving Network and bandwidth consumption between networks can be improved.

  • Though biometrics to authenticate a person is a good tool in terms of security and convenience, typical authentication algorithms using biometrics may not be executed on resource-constrained devices such as smart cards. Thus, to execute biometric processing on resource-constrained devices, it is desirable to develop lightweight authentication algorithm that requires only small amount of memory and computation. Also, among biological features, face is one of the most acceptable biometrics, because humans use it in their visual interactions and acquiring face images is non-intrusive. We present a new face authentication algorithm in this paper. Our achievement is two-fold. One is to present a face authentication algorithm with low memory requirement, which uses support vector machines (SVM) with the feature set extracted by genetic algorithms (GA). The other contribution is to suggest a method to reduce further, if needed, the amount of memory required in the authentication at the expense of verification rate by changing a controllable system parameter for a feature set size. Given a pre-defined amount of memory, this capability is quite effective to mount our algorithm on memory-constrained devices. The experimental results on various databases show that our face authentication algorithm with SVM whose input vectors consist of discriminating features extracted by GA has much better performance than the algorithm without feature selection process by GA has, in terms of accuracy and memory requirement. Experiment also shows that the number of the feature ttl be selected is controllable by a system parameter.

  • In this paper, we propose a pipeline network coding (PNC) scheme for efficient data transmission in wireless networks, a data authentication scheme for verifying the integrity of data, and a node authentication scheme for a virtual source. PNC is a technique that improves the overall network performance by relaying data such that the relay node performing network coding transmits to the sender instead. However, network coding is vulnerable to a pollution attack, which is an attack by a malicious attacker to inject modified data into the network. To prevent this, hash-based message authentication code (HMAC) is used. For this purpose, in order to generate a tag used for data authentication, a key must be distributed to the nodes performing authentication. We applied a hash chain to minimize the overhead of key distribution. A null vector is used as the authentication scheme for the virtual source. Finally, we analyze the safety and complexity of the proposed scheme and show he performance through simulation.

  • It is notorious that PIN(Personal Identification Number) is used widely for user verification and authentication in networked environment. But, when the user Identification and password are exposed by hacking, we can be damaged monetary damage as well as invasion of privacy. In this paper, we adopt face recognition-based authentication which have nothing to worry what the ID and password will be exposed. Also, we suggest the remote authentication and verification system by considering not only 2-Tier system but also 3-Tier system getting be distributed. In this research, we analyze the face feature data using the SVM(Support Vector Machine) and PCA(Principle Component Analysis), and implement artificial intelligence face recognition module in distributed environment which increase the authentication speed and heightens accuracy by utilizing artificial intelligence techniques.
