  • People counting is an important technology to provide application services such as smart home, smart building, smart car, etc. Due to the social distancing of COVID-19, the people counting technology attracted public attention. People counting system can be implemented in various ways such as camera, sensor, wireless, etc. according to service requirements. People counting system using WiFi AP uses WiFi CSI data that reflects multipath information. This technology is an effective solution implementing indoor with low cost. The conventional WiFi CSI-based people counting technologies have low accuracy that obstructs the high quality service. This paper proposes a deep learning people counting system based on WiFi CSI data. Data preprocessing using auto-encoder, data augmentation that transform WiFi CSI data, and a proposed deep learning model improve the accuracy of people counting. In the experimental result, the proposed approach shows 89.29% accuracy in 6 subjects.

  • Pervasive augmented reality (AR) technology can be used to efficiently search for the required information regarding products in stores through text augmentation in an Internet of Things (IoT) environment. The evolution of context awareness and image processing technologies are the main driving forces that realize this type of AR service. One of the problems to be addressed in the service is that augmented objects are fixed and cannot be replaced efficiently in real time. To address this problem, a real-time mobile AR framework is proposed. In this framework, an optimal object to be augmented is selected based on object similarity comparison, and the augmented objects are efficiently managed using distributed metadata servers to adapt to the user requirements, in a given situation. To evaluate the feasibility of the proposed framework, a prototype system was implemented, and a qualitative evaluation based on questionnaires was conducted. The experimental results show that the proposed framework provides a better user experience than existing features in smartphones, and through fast AR service, the users are able to conveniently obtain additional information on products or objects.

  • The impinging air jet system is still being used in the various fields with its inherent merits, that is, the easiness in engineering application and high heat transfer coefficients at stagnation point. The purpose of this study is augmentation of heat transfer without additional power in the rectangular air jet which impinges vertically to the heating surface. As a method of passive heat transfer augmentation in a two-Dimensional impinging jet, the transverse-repeated surface roughness of square cross-section is used. This paper deals with the experimental study on the characteristics of heat transfer at the x-direction in between nozzle exit and heating surface of flat plate, and that of ribbed plate. And this study also investigates the effect of square rib widths. The integral average heat transfer coefficient of ribbed plate is about 2.2 times larger than that of flat plate.

  • In Korean medicine, tongue diagnosis is one of the important diagnostic methods for diagnosing abnormalities in the body. Representative features that are used in the tongue diagnosis include color, shape, texture, cracks, and tooth marks. When diagnosing a patient through these features, the diagnosis criteria may be different for each oriental medical doctor, and even the same person may have different diagnosis results depending on time and work environment. In order to overcome this problem, recent studies to automate and standardize tongue diagnosis using machine learning are continuing and the basic process of such a machine learning-based tongue diagnosis system is tongue segmentation. In this paper, image data is augmented based on the main tongue features, and backbones of various famous deep learning architecture models are used for automatic tongue segmentation. The experimental results show that the proposed augmentation technique improves the accuracy of tongue segmentation, and that automatic tongue segmentation can be performed with a high accuracy of 99.12%.

  • Diagnostic models are required. Data augmentation is one of the best ways to improve deep learning performance. Traditional augmentation techniques that modify image brightness or spatial information are difficult to achieve great results. To overcome this, a generative adversarial network (GAN) technology that generates virtual data to increase deep learning performance has emerged. GAN can create realistic-looking fake images by competitive learning two networks, a generator that creates fakes and a discriminator that determines whether images are real or fake made by the generator. GAN is being used in computer vision, IT solutions, and medical imaging fields. It is essential to secure additional learning data to advance deep learning-based fault diagnosis solutions in the power industry where facilities are strictly maintained more than other industries. In this paper, we propose a method for generating power facility images using GAN and a strategy for improving performance when only used a small amount of data. Finally, we analyze the performance of the augmented image to see if it could be utilized for the deep learning-based diagnosis system or not.

  • Background Patients have anxiety and fear of complications due to general anesthesia. Through new instruments and local anesthetic drugs, a variety of anesthetic methods have been introduced. These methods keep hospital costs down and save time for patients. In particular, the target-controlled infusion (TCI) system maintains a relatively accurate level of plasma concentration, so the depth of anesthesia can be adjusted more easily. We conducted this study to examine whether intravenous anesthesia using the TCI system with propofol and remifentanil would be an effective method of anesthesia in breast augmentation. Methods This study recruited 100 patients who underwent breast augmentation surgery from February to August 2011. Intravenous anesthesia was performed with 10 mg/mL propofol and 50 ${\mu}g/mL$ remifentanil simultaneously administered using two separate modules of a continuous computer-assisted TCI system. The average target concentration was set at 2 ${\mu}g/mL$ and 2 ng/mL for propofol and remifentanil, respectively, and titrated against clinical effect and vital signs. Oxygen saturation, electrocardiography, and respiratory status were continuously measured during surgery. Blood pressure was measured at 5-minute intervals. Information collected includes total duration of surgery, dose of drugs administered during surgery, memory about surgery, and side effects. Results Intraoperatively, there was transient hypotension in two cases and hypoxia in three cases. However, there were no serious complications due to anesthesia such as respiratory difficulty, deep vein thrombosis, or malignant hypertension, for which an endotracheal intubation or reversal agent would have been needed. All the patients were discharged on the day of surgery and able to ambulate normally. Conclusions Our results indicate that anesthetic methods, where the TCI of propofol and remifentanil is used, might replace general anesthesia with endotracheal intubation in breast augmentation surgery.

  • This paper analyzes the availability and Dilution Of Precision (DOP) of GPS, widely used in positioning, with and without augmentation using QZSS (Quasi-Zenith Satellite System). Orbit simulator for QZSS is developed using Kepler‘s orbital parameters. Also 3D modeling technique based on three-Dimensional GIS digital map and satellite tracking algorithm for visible satellite simulation system are discussed. Performance improvement of the availability and DOP were achieved by combining GPS with QZSS at urban environment of Seoul.
