An Efficient Audio Indexing Scheme based on User Query Patterns (사용자 질의 패턴을 이용한 효율적인 오디오 색인기법)

  • With the popularity of digital audio contents, querying and retrieving audio contents efficiently from database has become essential. In this paper, we propose a new index scheme for retrieving audio contents efficiently using audio portions that have been queried frequently. This scheme is based on the observation that users have a tendency to memorize and query a small number of audio portions. Detecting and indexing such portions enables fast retrieval and shows better performance than sequential search-based audio retrieval. Moreover, this scheme is independent of underlying retrieval system, which means this scheme can work together with any other audio retrieval system. We have implemented a prototype system and showed its performance gain through experiments.

  • In this paper, we propose a wavelet-based audio watermarking algorithm to be robust against capturing attack. Commercial capturing tools enable us to obtain audio contents without noticeable degradation in audio quality, and it is possible to be a source of illegal distribution. By adjusting mean values of the lowest subband in audio, the proposed method can survive after capturing attack including sampling rate conversion, random cropping and compression. By applying a simple human auditory model, the inaudibility of the watermark is achieved, and detection probability is improved based on the difference information. This is confirmed by experimental results.

  • Audio-based SNS also needs a visual guide to reach the contents desired by the users. Therefore, this study investigates visual interface design elements that influence the experience of using audio contents in audio-based SNS. Prior researches have identified that the generally acknowledged interface design elements are important for the usability of audio contents. Through the analysis of the currently launched audio-based SNS, the influence of general interface elements were again confirmed, and via the analysis of other audio content services, a new interface evaluation element was explored. Accordingly, with five general interface evaluation elements-layout, color, icon, typography, graphic image, multimedia elements are newly defined and proposed as crucial factors in evaluating the UI of audio-based SNS.

  • The production and authoring of digital multimedia contents are most important fields in multimedia technology. Nowadays web-based technology and related multimedia software technology are growing in the IT industry and these technologies are evolving most rapidly in our life. The technology of digital audio and video processing is utilizing rapidly to improve quality of our life, Also we are more interested in high sense and artistic feeling in the music and entertainment areas by use of three dimensional (3D) digital sound technology continuously as well as 3D digital video technology. The service field of digital audio contents is increasing rapidly through the Internet. And the society of Internet users wants the audio contents service with better quality. Recently Internet users are not satisfying the sound quality with 2 channels stereo but seeking the high quality of sound with 5,] channels such as 3D audio of the movie films. But it might be needed proper hardware equipments for the service of 3D sound to satisfy this demand. In this paper, we expand the simple 3D audio generator developed and propose a web-based music bank by the software development of 3D audio generation player in 3D sound environment with two speakers minimizing hardware equipments, Also we believe that this study would contribute greatly to digital 3D sound service of high quality for music and entertainment mania.

  • The Terrestrial Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (T-DMB) system supplies high quality audio comparable with VCD in 7 inch display and high quality audio comparable CD at the mobile reception environment T-DMB will launch commercial service at the middle of 2005. However the bandwidth for audio data and the number of channels are restricted to 128 kbps and 2 respectively in the current T-DMB standard because of the limitation of available bandwidth for multimedia data. This Paper Proposes a novel media processor structure for providing multi-channel audio contents oyer T-DMB system allowing backward compatibility with the legacy T-DMB receiver. Furthermore. we also Propose an adaptive receiver structure to supply optimal audio contents on various speaker configuration in T-DMB receiver. To provide multi-channel audio contents allowing backward comaptilbity with the legacy T-DMB receiver, the additional data for multi-channel audio are defined as a dependent stream of main audio stream. The OD strucure for control an additional multi-channel audio elementary stream is proposed without changing the BIFS of the legacy T-DMB system.

  • Sound contents of these days are in the trend of 3D surround audio which has much higher quality then CD audio with the aid of DVD, Development environments of sound contents should be advanced and the efficient application of this system is quite necessary. In this paper, we proposed an improving method for utilizing sound/audio card systems which are necessory for developing game and multimedia sound contents as well as relate know-hows of producing 3D sounds with sound production tools for their efficient usages and applications.

  • This paper proposes new method for the enhancement of nonexistent high frequency spectral contents from low sample rate audio signal. For example, Due to the protocol constraint, the audio bandwidth of MP3 is restricted to 16Khz. Although band-restricted MP3 audio provide savings of storage space and network bandwidth, it suffers a major problem of a loss in high frequency fidelity such as localization, ambient information, and bright nature of audio. This paper provides a new mathematical analysis for the adaptive estimation of the high frequency contents based on the nature of the input low sample rate audio. Proposed method can be worked globally to any kind of audio such as speech and music that are restricted by sampling rate and bandwidth.

  • This paper presents the problem of the feature extraction techniques that has been used a content-based analysis, classification and retrieval in audio data and proposes a course of the preprocessing for a new contents-based retrieval methods. Because the feature vector according to sampling value changes, the existing audio data analysis is problem that same music is appraised by other music. Therefore, we propose waveform information extraction method of PCM data for retrieval audio data of various format to contents-based. If this method is used. we can find that audio datas that get into sampling in various format are same data. And it may be applied in contents-based music retrieval system. To verity the performance of the method, an experiment was done feature extraction using STFT and waveform information extraction using PCM data. As a result, we could know that the method to propose is effective more.

Development of Audio Watermarking Technique using Group Quantization (그룹 양자화를 이용한 오디오 워터마킹 기술 개발)

  • In this paper, we propose a watermarking technique that it is possible to winnow illegal contents from scattered contents on the internet. The identification is performed using an embedded unique content ID by the watermarking technique. The proposed watermarking technique accepts A/D-D/A conversion and a lot of lossy compression such as MP3, AAC, WMA and Real Audio. Watermark robustness is enabled using group quantization, selecting watermark inserting point, and error correction code. Test results show that the correct extraction is about $90\%$ and SNR is above $50\~60dB$. The above figures means that the proposed technique is able to extract encoded information at least one more times per audio and that it is very difficult to discriminate between a watermarked audio and a original audio.

  • In this paper, we research the content-based analysis and classification according to the composition of the feature parameter data base for the audio data to implement the audio data index and searching system. Audio data is classified to the primitive various auditory types. We described the analysis and feature extraction method for the feature parameters available to the audio data classification. And we compose the feature parameters data base in the index group unit, then compare and analyze the audio data centering the including level around and index criterion into the audio categories. Based on this result, we compose feature vectors of audio data according to the classification categories, and simulate to classify using discrimination function.
