A Design and Implementation of Used Books Trading Web Service using an Auction System (경매 방식을 이용한 중고도서 거래 웹 서비스 설계 및 구현)

  • Recently, consumer who has a desire to spend less money want to buy a cheap and good product because of long economy recession. Secondhand trading is regarded as a good method which allows people to buy cheap and good product. Activation of secondhand trading reduces the psychological distance among customers. Especially, in the case of expensive books such as major books, each university has community only for used book trading. However, existing used book community is hard to find current real-time trading state at a look, and it is impossible to purchase reasonably because of a one-way pricing of the seller. In this paper, we design and implement a used book trading web service using an auction system which can help anyone to trade used book easily. It is designed web based system and it provides convenience to user through efficient book registration function and book search function.

A Study on Users' Perception on the Reallocation of 700MHz Spectrum After Digital Transition of Terrestrial Broadcasting (지상파 방송의 디지털 전환 완료 이후 700MHz대역 주파수 재배치에 대한 이용자 인식 연구)

  • This study investigates the users' preference of frequency reallocation and frequency auction after digital transition of terrestrial broadcasting and it focuses on the relationships between media using pattern, reception environment of broadcasting telecommunication, and expectation for the universal service and requirement for the public interest. The results show that the longer DMB viewing hours, people prefer to frequency allocation for the telecommunication side. The technical aspects such as perception on the reception environment of broadcasting don't make effect on the users' preference of frequency allocation. In addition, the more people think the universal service of terrestrial broadcasting important, the more people think it unnecessary to adopt auction system to the broadcasting frequency. These results give implication that it is the most basic condition to improve the reception environment in order to accomplish universal service duty of terrestrial broadcasting.

Balancing the Tradeoffs Between Exploration and Exploitation (탐색 (Exploration)과 이용(Exploitation)의 상반관계의 균형에 관한 연구)

  • As auctions become popular, developing good agent bidding strategies has been an important focus in agent-based electronic commerce research. Especially for the continuous double auctions where no single dominant strategy is known, the agent bidding strategy has practical significance. This paper introduces an adaptive agent strategy for the countinuous double auction. The central idea is to let the agent figure out at run time when the sophisticated strategy (called the p-strategy) is beneficial and when a simpler strategy is better. Balance between exploration and exploitation is achieved by using a heuristic exploration function that trades off the expected profits and the number of tries of each strategy. We have experimentally evaluated the performance of the adaptive strategy in a wide variety of environments. The experiment results indicate that the adaptive strategy outperforms the plain p-strategy when the p-strategy performs poorly, while it performs similar to the p-strategy when the p-strategy dominates the other simple strategies.

An Optimization Model for Railway Slot Allocation Reflecting the Operational Policies (운영 정책을 반영한 철도 슬롯 할당을 위한 최적화 모형 연구)

  • Recently, open access policy to railway operation has been widely discussed. Compared to the case of Korea, European countries have dealt with this topic over a few decades. The competition on railway slots incurs an important technological problem about how to optimally allocate railway slots requested from RUs to them. In other words, the authority should be able to coordinate the timetables requested from RUs in the non-discriminatory manner. Related with the coordination, compared to the other European countries, which have done many studies and experiments especially on auction mechanisms, Korean railway has paid less attention to this topic and there have not been any related studies. Our study analyses the state-of-the-arts about the railway slot allocation especially focusing on the auction mechanisms and the associated optimization problems. And we suggest a new railway slot allocation mechanism and related optimization model reflecting the adjustment within the tolerance and the operational policies between railway undertakings.

  • A Semantic Web based service description is to enable intelligent matchmaking of services by improving representational flexibility and expressiveness in service description for Web Services. Flexibility concerns the way of how a computer handles the discrepancies in the granularity and the structure of service description between different participants of web services. Expressiveness means richness in the semantic description of services (or ontological representation of each service as a concept). The main shortcoming of currently available industry standard framework for e-commerce such as UDDI and ebXML is that they do not allow much flexibility and expressiveness in the service description. In our research we analyze the requirements of extending service description based on the Semantic Web, especially in the context of DAML-S. We also propose a method to be applied to implement intelligent web services by implementing a virtual auction site, testAuction.com. Finally, we consider some theoretical issues regarding the framework for web services using ontology.

A Legislative Study on the Plans for its Improvements and Problems of the Lien in the Real Estate Auction (부동산경매에서 유치권의 문제점과 개선방안에 대한 입법론적 검토)

  • A lien is the right to possession the thing until receiving repayment of its bonds in some cases that the property of other person or the occupant for marketable securities receive the bond that has occurred on that property or marketable securities. This has own purpose to break 'principle of creditor equality' to protect especially the bond of the subject occupant in terms of justice. These lien on our civil law come according to the law in prepared certain requirements. However, an incomplete real rights granted by way of security that does not have a preferential performance right or seniority on the exchange value of the object suffer from the problems a lot in the real estate auction process because of the feature that is not announced in the register unlike the mortgage. In addition, the lien of real estate is not lapsed in an auction process. There is no preferential performance righ in a positive law as providing that can oppose to the buyer(a successful bidder) until received repayment the secured bond price to be compliant with the lien(Civil Case Execution Law the 91st clause of Article 5). However, as asserted the super preferential performance righ to a buyer in real terms, acts as primary cause of breaking unexpected loss and according unfair law relation to a senior mortgagee and seizor, etc. and the principles of the creditors equality to the persons concerned in other words, the principles of justice. All of these issues are the establishment of the lien and theory conflict on the effects. In spite of the fluctuations of a real right about real estate is announced as a registration by the current law, only the lien come into unclear announcement means for possession. In addition, Civil Case Execution Law argument is caused by the adoption abernahmeprinzip about the lien (Civil Case Execution Law the 91st clause of Article 5). Therefore, this paper was examined briefly the significance and purpose, history and law-making examples of each country and the valid requirements and effect of the lien that is basic principle of law about the lien system above all. And then, it will be reviewed the improvement plan for de lege ferenda to improve the issues about this after reviewing the objection, theory and judicial precedent about opposing power and preferential performance right of the lien in the real estaKey Words : Lien, Oppose Power, Mortgage right, Preferential Performance right, Seizure, Real Estate Auction, Lien who can not Opposing against Successful Bidder, Lien who can Oppose against Successful Bidder, Possessionte auction that is a fundamental problem on requirement and effect of the lien.

  • Most of Korea's Kyungmaedorock(auction book: 競賣圖錄) and pictorial record of exhibitions in the modern times were usually published in the 1930s. Although 1930s were periods of the Great Depression when economic slump continued because of the aftereffect of the slump in the stocks issued by the US in 1929, during this period, Japan began regular continental invasion starting from invasion of the northeastern area of China. To curio dealers, the 1930s were 'boom period of curio transaction' and in urban cultural aspects, the period is evaluated as the one when the first step of modernism was formed. Collection, photo-printing and arrangement of the data related to modern exhibitions including the Auction Book being published at that time are very important because they enable us to know characteristics of fine arts in the transition period from paintings & writings to fine arts in addition to enabling us to revert the circulation history of our paintings & writings and curios. Furthermore, these data will become important data for reconstitution of the circulation history of the Eastern Asia's modern art works. Although the pictorial record of Joseon's Exhibitions of Chinaware and Wooden Works(朝鮮陶磁木工展) is a small and thin one, it records our country's high level chinaware and wooden works. Although we can't know the exact time for 'Joseon's exhibitions of chinaware and wooden works', they are assumed to have been held in Tokyo, Japan in the 1930s and there seems to have been sale of works, too. As such, studies of the books such as the auction book and exhibitions under Japanese imperialism have the first importance in the fact that through which we can examine the course of outflow of our art works to Japan. Furthermore, they can be studies of art-sociology that examine flow and phase of recognition and taste of art works of those days. And from now on, comparative studies of auctions and exhibitions being held in Japan such as Tokyo, Osaka and etc. as well as art markets in Seoul during modern times would also be necessary.

User Demand-based Grid Trade Management Model (사용자 요구기반의 그리드 거래 관리 모델)

  • Importance of and need for grid resource management have accelerated in accordance with increasing development of grid computing. However, it is very complex to distribute and utilize resources efficiently in geographically dispersed environments. This is due to the different access policies and constraints of grid resource owners. Users request resources according to their needs. Operators of a grid computing system need to be able to monitor the system states for reflecting these demands. So, a grid computing system needs a resource management policy that monitors states of resources and then allocates resources. This paper proposes a user demand-based grid trade management model that provides an efficient resource management by the trade allocation based on a users' demand and providers' supply strategy. To evaluate performance, this paper measures increasing rate of resource trades, average response time of trades, and processing time utilization. Firstly, the average increasing rates of trade are 585.7% and 322.6% higher than an auction model and a double auction model. Secondly, the average response time of the user demand-based grid trade management model is maintained between 3 and 5 simulation time. Finally, it is found that the processing time utilization is an average of 145.4% and 118.0% higher than an auction model and a double auction model. These empirical results demonstrate the usefulness of the user demand-based grid trade management model.
