LB박막의 전자이동 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Electronic Properties of LB Thin Films)

  • Abstract We give pressure stimulation into organic thin films and then manufacture a device under the accumulation condition that the state surface pressure is 10[mN/m]. In processing of a device manufacture, we can see the process is good from the change of a surface pressure for organic thin films and transfer ratio of area per molecule. The structure of manufactured device is Au/Poly-${\gamma}$ Benzyl $_D$-Glutamate/Al; the number of accumulated layers is 1, 3, 5 and 7. Also, we then examined of the MIM device by means of I-V. The I-V characteristic of the device is measured from 0 to +2[V]. We determined electrochemical measurement by using cyclic voltammetry with a three-electrode system. LB film accumulated by monolayer on an ITO. In the cyclicvoltammetry, An Ag/AgCl reference electrode, a platinum wire counter electrode and LB film-coated ITO working electrode measured in $LiBF_4$ solution, stable up to 0.9V vs. Ag/AgCl.

Effect of Au-ionic Doping Treatment on SWNT Flexible Transparent Conducting Films

  • Interest in flexible transparent conducting films (TCFs) has been growing recently mainly due to the demand for electrodes incorporated in flexible or wearable displays in the future. Indium tin oxide (ITO) thin films, which have been traditionally used as the TCFs, have a serious obstacle in TCFs applications. SWNTs are the most appropriate materials for conductive films for displays due to their excellent high mechanical strength and electrical conductivity. In this work, the fabrication by the spraying process of transparent SWNT films and reduction of its sheet resistance on PET substrates is researched Arc-discharge SWNTs were dispersed in deionized water by adding sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) as surfactant and sonicated, followed by the centrifugation. The dispersed SWNT was spray-coated on PET substrate and dried on a hotplate. When the spray process was terminated, the TCF was immersed into deionized water to remove the surfactant and then it was dried on hotplate. The TCF film was then was doped with Au-ionic doping treatment, rinsed with deionized water and dried. The surface morphology of TCF was characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy. The sheet resistance and optical transmission properties of the TCF were measured with a four-point probe method and a UV-visible spectrometry, respectively. This was confirmed and discussed on the XPS and UPS studies. We show that 87 ${\Omega}/{\Box}$ sheet resistances with 81% transmittance at the wavelength of 550nm. The changes in electrical and optical conductivity of SWNT film before and after Au-ionic doping treatments were discussed. The effect of Au-ion treatment on the electronic structure change of SWNT films was investigated by Raman and XPS.

  • The structure of manufactured device is Cr-Au/Arachidic acid/Al, the number of accumulated layers are 13, 17 and 19. The I-V characteristic of the device is measured from -2[V] to +2[V] and the characteristic of current-time of the devices. We have investigated the capacitance because this fatty acid system have a accumulated layers. The maximum value of measured current is increased as the number of accumulated layers are decreased. The capacitor properties of a thin film is better as the distance between electrodes is smaller. The results have shown the insulating materials and could control the conductivity by accumulated layers.

Improvement on the Stability of Amorphous Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide Thin Film Transistors Using Amorphous Oxide Multilayer Source/Drain Electrodes

  • In order to find suitable source and drain (S/D) electrodes for amorphous InGaZnO thin film transistors (a-IGZO TFTs), the specific contact resistance of interface between the channel layers and various S/D electrodes, such as Ti/Au, a-IZO and multilayer of a-IGZO/Ag/a-IGZO, was investigated using the transmission line model. The a-IGZO TFTs with a-IGZO/Ag/a-IGZO of S/D electrodes had good performance and low contact resistance due to the homo-junction with channel layer. The stability was measured with different electrodes by a positive bias stress test. The result shows the a-IGZO TFTs with a-IGZO/Ag/a-IGZO electrodes were more stable than other devices.

LB법으로 제작한 Arachidic Acid 다층막의 누적전이와 전기특성 (Deposition Transfer and Electrical Properties of Arachidic Acid Multilayer Manufacture by LB Method)

  • We give pressure stimulation into organic thin films and then manufacture a device under the accumulation condition that the state surface pressure is 30[mN/m]. LB layers of Arac. acid deposited by LB method were deposited onto slide glass as Y-type film. The physicochemical properties of the LB films were examined by UV absorption spectrum, SEM and AFM. The structure of manufactured device is Au/arachidic acid/Al. the number of accumulated layers are 3~9. Also. we then examined of the MIM device by means of I-V. The I-V characteristic of the device is measured from -3 to +3[V]. The insulation property of a thin film is better as the distance between electrodes is larger.

  • In this paper we demonstrated the applications of OTFTs (organic thin film transistors) to flexible displays such as AM-EPD (active matrix electrophoretic display) and AM-OLED (active matrix organic light emitting diode), and also to integrated circuits. The OTFTs using pentacene semiconductor layer and PVP gate dielectric and Au S/D electrodes exhibited good performance for AM-EPD with the mobility of $0.59\;cm^{2}/V.sec,$ and with also good uniformity over 2.5" diagonal area. However, it is nor enough for AM-OLED requiring the mobility larger than $1\;cm^{2}/V.sec$ for large area displays. The integrated circuits also worked, producing the operating frequency of 1MHz. We need to develop a fabrication process to reduce parasitic capacitance for high frequency operation.

Development of Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Dielectric for Organic Thin Film Transistors

  • Using a thermally-crosslinkable organosiloxane-based organic-inorganic hybrid material, solution processable gate dielectric layer for organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) have been fabricated. The hybrid dielectrics are synthesized by the sol-gel process, followed by the heat-treatment at $190{\bullet}\;.{\bullet}$ To investigate the electrical property of hybrid dielectric, leakage current behavior and capacitance were measured. To fabricate coplanar-type OTFTs, Au/Cr electrode was deposited onto the heavily doped silicon substrate with the organic-inorganic hybrid dielectric layer and then ${\alpha},{\omega}-dihexylquaterthiophene$ was drop-cast between source and drain electrical performance of the fabricated transistor.

졸-겔 방법으로 제조한 ZnO 쇼트키 다이오드의 특성 연구 (Schottky diode characteristics of a sol-gel driven ZnO)

  • ZnO thin films with preferred orientation along the (0 0 2) plane were fabricated by a sol-gel method. The effects of the annealing temperature, time, and thickness were studied by investigating UV-visible spectra, FT-IR spectra, and XRD of ZnO films. The films were dried and annealed ed at $100^{\circ}C,\;200^{\circ}C$, and $300^{\circ}C$ for 1hr, 2hrs, and 3hrs, respectively. The film showed the preferred (0 0 2) orientation and high transmittance near 90% in the visible range. Also, SEM images of the films exhibited very smooth surfaces without holes and cracks. Schottky diodes were fabricated by using ZnO sol-gel material. Au and Al were used as electrodes to make Ohmic and Schottky contacts, respectively. The annealing temperature, time and the thickness dependent I-V characteristics were presented in this article.

스크린 인쇄법에 의해 제작된 유기 박막 트랜지스터용 전극에 관한 연구 (A Study on Contacts for Organic thin-film transistors fabricated by Screen Printing Method)

  • We studied about the manufacture of the drain-source contacts for OTFTs(organic thin-film transistors) by using screen printing method. The conductive fillers used Ag and carbon black. The conductive contacts with $100{\mu}m$ of channel length were screen printed on a silicon dioxide gate dielectric layer and, the pentacene semiconductor was deposited via vacuum deposition. As a result of studying various conductive pastes, we could obtain the OTFTs which exhibited field-effect behavior over arrange of drain-source and gate voltages, similar to devices employing deposited Au contacts. By using screen-printing with conductive paste, the contacts are processed at low temperature, thereby facilitating their integration with heat sensitive substrates.

  • Metal oxide/metal bilayer structures are explored as contacts with a low injection barrier in organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) in an effort to realize their true potential for low-cost electronics. OTFTs with a bilayer electrode of $WO_3$ (10nm) and Al shows a saturation mobility as large as 0.97 $cm^2$/Vsec which are comparable to those of Au-based control samples (~0.90 $cm^2$/Vsec). Scaling of contact resistance with respect to the thickness of $WO_3$ layer is also discussed.
