SOLVABILITY AND ASYMPTOTIC BEHAVIOR OF SOLUTIONS FOR SOME NONLINEAR INTEGRAL EQUATIONS RELATED TO CHANDRASEKHAR'S INTEGRAL EQUATION ON THE REAL HALF LINE

  • We investigate the existence and uniform attractivity of solutions of a class of functional integral equations which contain a number of classical nonlinear integral equations as special cases. Using the technique of measures of noncompactness and a fixed point theorem of Darbo type we prove the existence of solutions of these equations in the Banach space of continuous and bounded functions on the nonnegative real half axis. Our results extend and improve some known results in the recent literature. An example illustrating the main result is presented in the last section.

  • All-optical fiber-type gain flattening filer (GFF) for an EDFA (Erbium doped fiber amplifier) were fabricated by using a FBT (fiber biconical tapered) process and the performance of the GFF was tested and athermal package was proposed. Historically, the chief contributor to gain unevenness has been the EDFA. Due to the inherent gain response of the EDFA's operation, there is always a modest imbalance in the gain applied as a function of wavelength. FBT methods have been used to make fiber type couplers and WDM filter since 1980. Attractivity of this methods was simple, cost effective and thermal stability. Simulation program tool is made to design target GFF profile for this paper. Fiber coupler manufacturing machine is modified for the GFF process. The final GFF is obtained by cascading 4 unit filter that has 6 taper stage. Test result shows 1 dB of wavelength flatness in the C band. Polarization dependent loss is under 0.15dB. The center wavelength variation is below ${\pm}$0.35nm at the temperature range of $20^{\circ}C$ to $70^{\circ}C$.

Bioactivity of Cajuput Seedling n-Hexane Extract as an Attractant for Subterranean Termite Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren (Isoptera: Rhinotermitidae)

  • Subterranean termite attacks on cajuput (Melaleuca cajuputi) seedling roots were widespread in several of Java's Perum Perhutani Forest Management Units. This attack was suspected to be related to the chemical components of the cajunput seedling roots. This study was conducted to determine the bioactivity of cajuput seedling root extract as an attractant for the subterranean termite Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren (Isoptera: Rhinotermitidae). The extraction process was performed according to ASTM D1108-96, and the extract was characterized using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Bioactivity testing of the extracts was carried out using attractiveness and no-choice feeding bioassays. The results showed that the average root extraction yield from cajunput seedlings was 4.94%. The attractiveness of the extract solutions at concentrations of 0.50%, 0.75%, and 1.00% were 45.33%, 62.00%, and 74.67%, respectively. The mortality rate of C. curvignathus termites ranged from 9.63% to 24.44%. Cajuput seedling root extract's lethal concentration 50 was 2.45% (non-toxic). GC-MS analysis showed that the extract contained linoleic acid, which has the potential to attract insects.

거베라에서 아메리카잎굴파리의 가해양상, 발생소장 및 색상별 유인량 (Damaged Aspects, Seasonal Fluctuations, and Attractivity of Various Colors on Liriomyza trifolii Burgess (Diptera: Agromyzidae) in Gerbera)

  • 전남지역에서 아메리카잎굴파리에 의한 거베라 피해엽율은 정식후 1년차에 89.7%, 2년차에 85.5%이었다. 피해주에서 갱도에 의한 피해엽율과 흡즙흔에 의한 피해엽율은 각각 44.7%와 55.3%이었다 황색끈끈이트랩에 유인된 성충은 5월 하순에 정식한 경우 정식 1년차에는 초기부터 성충이 포획되어 8월 상순까지 포획량이 계속 증가하였으나 이후 8월 하순까지는 밀도가 감소하다가 9월 상순부터 다시 포획량이 증가하였다. 정식 2년차에는 4월 하순부터 성충이 포획되기 시작하여 5월 중순부터 급격히 증가하고 7월 상순까지 높은밀도를 유지하다가 7월 중순부터 점차 밀도가 감소하여 7월 하순부터는 낮은 밀도를 유지하였으나,포충망에 의한 조사는 9월 상순과 10월 하순에 높은 밀도를 유지하였다. 유충과 번데기 밀도변동은 성충발생과 비슷하였으나 번데기 발생 peak가 유충보다 일주일 가량 늦었다. 거베라에서 기생봉에 기생당한 유충수는 정식 5주째부터 많아지기 시작하여 8월 하순까지 기생율이 평균 65%로 높았으나 9월 상순부터는 50%수준이었다. 유색끈끈이트랩에 유인량은 황색에서 가장 많았으며, 트랩의 설치위치는 지상 30~60cm범위에서 포획량이 많았다.

지방자치단체 캐릭터의 트랜스미디어 스토리텔링 전략 연구 (A Study on Transmedia Storytelling Strategy of Local Government Character)

  • 지방자치단체 캐릭터는 정부와 공공기관의 지원에 힘입어 많은 양적 성장을 이루었다. 하지만 그에 비해 캐릭터를 활용한 지역 정체성 강화 및 지역경제 활성화 같은 성공사례는 매우 부족하다. 본 논문은 이러한 지방자치단체 캐릭터의 문제를 해결하려는 방안으로 트랜스미디어 스토리텔링 전략을 제시한다. 이를 위해 현재 지방자치단체 캐릭터의 문제점을 파악하고, 트랜스미디어 콘텐츠의 특성과 구성요소, 트랜스미디어 스토리텔링 원칙에 대한 선행 연구를 종합적으로 분석하여 현재 한국 지방자치단체 캐릭터의 활성화를 위한 전략과 기대효과를 도출했다. 지방자치단체 캐릭터의 트랜스미디어 전략은 지역 고유의 스토리 개발을 통해 지역의 정체성을 확립하는 1단계, 다양한 개별 미디어 플랫폼에 맞는 캐릭터 디자인 리뉴얼로 조형성을 개선하는 2단계, 그리고 마지막으로 개발 주체와 대중의 소통 및 참여를 바탕으로 하는 상호작용성 확장을 통한 활용성 제고의 3단계로 구성된다고 할 수 있다. 본 논문은 브랜드 마케팅 관점에서 지방자치단체 캐릭터의 활성화를 위한 트랜스미디어 스토리텔링 전략을 도출했다는 의의가 있다. 본 연구의 결론을 바탕으로 지방자치단체 캐릭터의 구체적인 사례에 적용하는 후속 연구의 필요성이 대두된다.

환경영향평가와 환경위험의 평가 (Environmental Impact Assessment and Evaluation of Environmental Risks)

  • In former times the protection of our environment didn't play an important role due to the fact that emissions and effluents were not considered as serious impacts. However, opinions and scientific measurements meanwhile confirmed that the impacts are more serious than expected. Thus measures to protect our earth has to be taken into consideration. A part of these measures in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). One of the most important parts of the EIA is the collection of basic datas and the following evaluation. Experience out of the daily business of Gerling Consulting Group shows that the content of the EIA has to be revised and enlarged in certain fields. The historical development demonstrated that in areas in which the population and the industrial activities reached high concentration there is a high necessity to develop strict environmental laws and regulations. Maximum values of the concentration of hazardous materials were fixed concerning the emission into and water. Companies not following these regulations were punished. The total amount of environmental offences increased rapidly during the last decade, at least in Germany. During this development the public consciousness concerning environmental affairs increased as well in the industrialized countries. But it could clearly be seen that the development in the field of environmental protection went into the wrong direction. The technologies to protect the environment became more and more sophisticated and terms as: "state of the art" guided more and more to lower emissions, Filtertechnologies and wastewater treatment for example reached a high technical level-but all these sophisticated technologies has one and the same characteristic: they were end-of-the pipe solutions. A second effect was that this kind of environmental protection costs a lot of money. High investments are necessary to reduce the dust emission by another ppm! Could this be the correct way? In Germany the discussion started that the environmental laws reduce the attractivity to invest or to enlarge existing investments within the country. Other countries seem to be not so strict with controlling the environmental laws which means it's simply cheaper to produce in Portugal or Greece. Everybody however knows that this is not the correct way and does not solve the environmental problems. Meanwhile the general picture changes a little bit and we think it changes into the correct direction "End-of-the-pipe" solutions are still necessary but this word received a real negative touch and nobody wants to be brought into connection with this word received a real negative touch and nobody wants to be brought into connection with this word especially in connection with environmental management and safety. Modern actual environmental management starts in a different way. Thoughts about emissions start in the very beginning of the production, they start with the design of the product and modification of traditional modes of production. Basis of these ideas are detailed analyses of products and processes. Due to the above mentioned facts that the public environmental consciousness changed dramatically a continous environmental improvement of each single production plant has to be guarantied. This question is already an important question of the EIA. But it was never really checked in a wholistic approach. Environmental risks have to be taken into considerations during the execution of an EIA. This means that the environmental risks have to be reduced down to a capable risk-level. Environmental risks have to be considered within the phase of planning, during the operation of a plant and after shut down. The experience shows that most of the environmental relevant accidents were and caused by human fault. Even in highly protected plants the human risk-factor can not be excluded during evaluation of the risk-potential. Thus the approach of an EIA has to regard technical evaluations as well as organizational thoughts and the human factor. An environmental risk is a threat to the environment. An analysis of the risk concerning the organizational and human aspect however never was properly executed during an EIA. A possible solution could be to use an instrument as the actual EMAS (Environmental Management System) of the EC for more accurate evaluation of the impact to the environment during an EIA. Organizations or investors could demonstrate by an approved EMAS or even by showing their installment of EMAS that not only the technical level of the planned investment meets the requested standards but as well the actual or planned management is able to reduce the environmental impact down to a bearable level.

복숭아순나방 성페로몬 미끼 평가 및 수원지역에서 주요 발생시기 예찰 (Evaluation of Pheromone Lure of Grapholita molesta (Lpidoptera: Torticidae) and Forecasting Its Phenological Events in Suwon)

  • 복숭아순나방 성페로몬(Z8-12AC : E8-12AC : Z8-12OH = 95 : 5 : 1) 처리량에 따른 수컷 성충 유인수 및 페로몬 총량 1.0mg-미끼의 유인력 지속기간을 포장조건에서 평가하였다. 또한 수원지역 복숭아과원에서 연간 복숭아순나방 페로몬 유살량 및 계절초기 알 발생밀도 등 기초 생태자료를 이용하여 주요 발생시기별 적산온도를 산출하였다. 복숭아순나방은 실험을 실시한 페로몬 처리량 0.1-4.0mg 범위에서 처리량이 증가할수록 유인수가 감소하였다. 0.1 mg-미끼에 가장 많은 수컷성충이 유인되었고, 0.5-4.0mg 범위에서는 통계적으로 유인수의 차이가 없었다. 1.0mg-미끼를 이용하여 20일 간격으로 미끼를 교체한 트랩과 교체하지 않은 트랩 간 수컷 유인수를 조사한 결과 약 50일까지 서로 차이가 없었으나, 그 후에는 미끼를 교체하지 않은 트랩에 더 많은 수컷 성충이 유인되는 경향을 보였다. 복숭아순나방 초발생일까지 적산온도는 1월 1일부터 $8.1^{\circ}C$ 이상 평균 대기온도를 누적했을 때 약 39DD 이었다. 또한 초발일 기준 각 발생최성기까지 누적된 적산온도는 1세대 98 DD, 2세대 620DD, 3세대 1233DD, 4세대 1916DD 이었다. 1세대 성충 발생최성기에서 알 밀도 최성기까지는 약 130DD 차이가 있었고, 2세대 성충 발생최성기와 알 발생최성기는 비슷한 시기에 나타났다. 기타 복숭아과원에서 복숭아순나방 방제 전략에 대하여 고찰하였다.
