  • Recently Internet portals contend with each other to expand their customer base by providing customers with a much amount of e-mail storage. But This strategy may not be successful because of customers' switching cost following site moving. Therefore, in order to reveal whether their strategy makes sense, this study investigates the direct and contingency factors affecting customer switching intension of e-mail services in portal sites. The research results show that attractiveness of alternatives, switching cost, and customer satisfaction have a significantly direct impact on customer switching intension of e-mail services. Also, attractiveness of alternatives alone has an moderated effect on customer switching intension but switching cost does not. Thus, Internet portals may reap the harvest from their recent aggressive action.

  • As information technology rapidly develops and the period required to enter new technology shortens, there emerges a wide variety of alternatives for consumers. When there are many alternatives in the market, users choose after making comparisons. This process of making comparisons is our research key. We established a research model to find a mixed effect that comes from new attitudes to technology adoption and alternative's continuous usage intention. The effect is revealed through a relative attractiveness (RA) factor to explain a user's process of comparison. We empirically test our research model in the new media services, such as mobile TV, web TV, and mobile IPTV. According to our research results, a continuous usage intention of an existing technology is an important factor to explain the adoption of a new technology. So, the contribution of our research is in finding a role for the RA factor in research in new technology adoption.

  • This study has investigated the effects of relieving and promoting factors on dissolution intention under the condition of low commitment buyer-seller relationships. Based on intensive literature reviews, eight alleviating factors (dependence, cooperation, communication, relational norms, transaction specific investments, relationship termination costs, satisfaction, and trust) and five promoting factors (opportunism, conflict, goal incongruity, attractiveness of alternatives, and unfairness) were included. A total of thirteen hypotheses were testee using data collected from a dining franchising system. Among 300 collected, 79 cases of low commitment buyer-seller relationships were analyzed. The results showed that eight out of thirteen hypotheses were supported. But five hypotheses related to the variables of cooperation, transaction specific investments, relationship termination costs, attractiveness of alternatives, and opportunism were not supported. following a detailed presentation of the analysis results, the paper concludes by discussing the academic and managerial implications of the findings.

  • This study is to investigate factors that affect preference to CMDS(convergence mobile data service) on institutionalization of MDS. A research model was proposed and subsequent hypotheses were empirically tested with partial least square (PLS) based on 400 responses from the users of CMDS(DMB: 200 / m-Banking: 200). It was learned that institutionalization of technology related building MDS was positively associated with assimilation of MDS(represent a institutionalization of MDS) rather than service quality and use gratification. It means that users decided use of MDS refereed from its level of assimilation to MDS channel. Also, attractiveness of alternatives to CMDS is negatively associated with continuous use of CMDS and preference to CMDS. Lastly, their association strength was partially moderated by the type of motivation for using CMDS.

  • Since smart phones are changing the media for communication and its related mobile market, it is imperative to attract more application developers for success in application store business in order to attract more app users. By using aspects of the commitment marketing theory and the relationship marketing theory, this research study identified factors that influence on the relational commitment of application developers to the market. Survey of application developers from Korean mobile application developers' community was conducted to test the hypothesized model. The empirical results showed from an economic behavioral perspective market demand for applications and perceived usefulness of development tool led to relational commitment of developers mediated by perceived satisfaction while attractiveness of alternatives had no significant effect. In addition, fairness of review process and interactivity, based on the relationship marketing theory perspective, showed significant effect on the relational commitment of developers mediated by trust for application market.

  • This paper aims to investigate the adjustment effect of switching barriers on customer retention in mobile telecommunication services. The detailed factors regarding switching barriers are classified based on the related literatures. Furthermore, the hierarchical regression analysis is used to analyze the extent to which the factors affect customer retention. The main contribution of this paper is to focus on switching barriers and theirs relationships with customer retention rather than customer satisfaction on early studies. The results are as follows: First, among the factors of switching barriers, switching costs, such as continuity cost and contractual cost, interpersonal relationship, and attractiveness of alternatives are key factors in determining customer retention. Second, continuity cost and interpersonal relationship have an adjustment effect between customer satisfaction and customer retention. The findings can help the mobile operators establish a customer-oriented strategy by identifying a few key factors strengthening the linkage with customers.

  • This study empirically investigates how the switching barriers influence the consumer's perceived intention to change his or her current favorite internet shopping mall. Drawing from switching cost theory, variables pertaining to trust, shopping mall service quality, product price, web page quality, switching barriers were examined to examine the consumer's behavioral intention to switch to another shopping mall. The interaction effect of consumer involvement was also included in the research model. The results of the study report that customer satisfaction and switching cost influence shopping switching intention, while the effect of attractiveness of the shopping mall was not significant in the statistical analysis. Furthermore, a moderating effect of consumer involvement was not found significant in the PLS analysis. The study demonstrates the shopping mall owners try to increase the customer's overall satisfaction and raise the switching barrier by providing mileage advantages, for instance.

  • We provide an economic evaluation model to help managers make reasonable decision for the investment in the appropriate type of cloud computing. Cloud computing can be classified into public, private and hybrid architecture and we evaluate their attractiveness using traditional NPV and real option methods. We conduct economic analysis by comparing traditional software delivery model with various types of cloud computing. The work compares each mode of cloud computing against each other using passive NPV and dynamic real-option method. For more objective and conservative evaluation of investment alternatives, we eliminate conventional benefits that are often subjective or hard to measure, and count only the reduction of investment cost and maintenance cost as benefit. We argue that hybrid and public cloud computing can be undervalued without their intrinsic options such as abandonment, expansion and contraction.

Method: For this study, the buildings where are located near Asia Cultural Complex (ACC) and leaved as idle spaces now that is used for important facilities are used to apply the multi-purposed emotional Space. Essential methodology and terminology were examined to estimate and construct the multi-purposed emotional space. Result: The multi-purposed emotional space provides that people aggressively request subjects to satisfy their emotional attractiveness as well as comforts and pleasures beyond the functional basic requirements in space. On the other words, it can be regarded as limited context to physical space responsive to social and environmental changes for the surrounding, and may maximize user experiences. Since emotions tend to be abstract and subjective while architectural space has pretty physical properties, this study attempts to integrate contrastive properties between emotional and architectural spaces to make a real object.

  • Job love is an emerging phenomenon, which is the utmost approach to fulfilling employees' and organizations' mutual interests, especially performance. The current study aims to define and extend the existing proposed construct of "loving one's job" as job love. It provides a novel theoretical multi-level framework of job love, contextual factors, and performance principled on the attraction-selection-attrition framework and social exchange theory through an integrated approach. This study collected cross-sectional data through a questionnaire from 332 nurses across eight tertiary hospitals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The findings are based on the structural equation modeling technique (SEM) at multi-levels. The results show significant relationships between job love, contextual factors, and performance at the individual and organization levels. There are some insignificant relationships between the variables at the cross-level. Job love plays a key role for both employees and organizations. It facilitates the individuals in the recruitment process to select the job they love, be a good fit, and stay committed to that particular job and organization. This phenomenon allows people to pursue their common interests. Job love assists firms in developing human resource capacity utilization plans that satisfy the needed requirements.
