Objectives : The aim of the study is to investigate the oral health knowledge, attitude and dental caries experience in Korean 12-year-old adolescents. Methods : The subjects were 2,196 adolescents living in Seosan, with an average age of 12.2 years. Data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire from April 10 through June 10, 2011. A trained investigator made an oral examination of them in natural light, using a mirror and an explorer to determine their DMFT index. Results : The prevalence rate of dental caries of adolescents was 59.1%. The DMFT index of the subjects was 1.98, which was lower than the national mean of 2.2 for the same age. The DMFT index was significantly higher in the female(2.25) than the male group(1.72). The attitude of oral health was positively related to DMFT index in this study(OR=1.25; CI=1.01-1.54). It appears that knowledge and attitude concerning oral health, among young Korean 12-year-old adolescents living in Seosan, are in need of improvement. Conclusions : Based on the findings, dental caries experience is associated with attitude of oral health. This result suggests that the implementation of oral health promotion should be considered for various factors related to attitude of oral health in adolescents.

In general, patients' health seeking behaviours can be affected by three factors ; psychological factor, economic factor and health delivery system. This study was focused on how the psychological factor affect to health seeking behaviour influenced by the various attitude of residents toward medical resources in their community. A total of 306 households were sampled for the investigation among residents of Banwol-Eup which was an industrial city newly developed. The data has been collected by interview method using close ended questionnaire. The major findings are ; 1) the respondents' attitude toward medical institutions in their community has shown negative responses (rate of negative attitude (a) 81.3%- facilities (b) 40.7% medical expenses (c) 21.1%-kindness of employees of medical facilities (d)59.0%- the degree of thorough explanation to patient on medical examination (e) 58.2%-doctors' practical competency). Above all, they have shown negative response on doctors explanation on results of medical examination and doctors' practical competency. 2) The study indicated a significant difference in health seeking behaviour between the group of positive attitude and that of negative attitude. 3) A big difference between the above mentioned two groups was identified as the attitude toward sub dimension of practical competency.

Background & Objectives: The aim of the study was to investigate characteristics and relationship among University students' attitude to reproductive health, value of marriage and children Methods: With a descriptive survey design, a self-report study was conducted and collected 470 responses from university students in Chungcheongnam-Do. Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficients were used to analyze data. Results: It was found that there were significantly different in attitude to reproductive health according to the following variables: age(F=2.91, p<.05), college(F=2.49, p<.05), sexual experience(t=7.54, p<.001). value of marriage was significantly different according to gender(t=-7.05, p<.001), college(F=4.42, p<.05), plan to marriage(t=-5.58, p<.001) and plan to having children(t=-4.30, p<.001). Value of children was significantly different according to gender(t=4.52, p<.001), plan to marriage(t=-4.30, p<.001) and plan to having children(t=6.33, p<.001). Attitude to reproductive health was significantly correlated with value of marriage(t=6.33, p<.001), value of marriage was significantly correlated with value of child(r=.224, p<.01). Conclusion: These results suggest that education for improving attitude to reproductive health, value of marriage and child are necessary to overcome low fertility. In addition, it is needed to further research and at the national level policy.
The purpose of this study was to measure the causal relationships between past consumption, health belief, subjective, attitude, intention and purchase of organic foods. Total 326 copies of questionnaire were completed. The structural equation model was used to measure the causal effect among constructs. The results demonstrated that the confirmatory factor analysis model provided a good model fit. The proposed model yielded a significantly better fit to the data than the baseline model and the extended model. The effects of past consumption, health belief and subjective norm on attitude and intention were statistically significant. The effects of attitude on intention and behavior to purchase organic food were statistically significant. As expected, health belief and subjective had significant effects on behavior to purchase organic foods. Moreover, past consumption, health belief and subjective norm had indirect influences on intention through mediated variables. Based on the empirical results and findings, some suggestions are provided to the institutions concerned so as to facilitate this organic sector's on-going expansion in the food industry.
The aim of this study is to find the factors affecting attitude on u-health system using Pender's Health Promotion Model (HPM) and also, analyze the moderating effect of gender variable in research model. To assess the proposed research model based on HPM, this study adopted Partial Least Square (PLS) method using Smartpls 2.0 version for the evaluation of research model. Thus, this study used survey questionnaire in order to collect useful data to potential users of u-health system. As a result of analysis, the examined variables explain 29% of variance on attitude to use of the u-health system. According to the PLS analysis, self efficacy and perceived benefits showed significantly positive relationship on attitude to use of u-health system. In addition, on the moderating effect of gender variable, female had more interest on self efficacy for positive attitude on use of u-health system.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to examine the Korean women's attitude toward sex in their 20s in order to investigate the relationship between attitude toward sex and preventive behavior against cervical cancer. Method: The data was collected by conducting a survey in parts of Chungcheongbuk provinces from November 1st to the 10th, 2017, with a total of 353 respondents. Frequency analysis, chi-square test and logistic-regression analysis were conducted. Result: A result of logistic-regression analysis, the degree of preventive behavior against cervical cancer of those who were 'conservative' toward sex was 1.866 times greater, significantly. As the attitude toward sex becomes more liberal, the awareness of the necessity for preventive behavior against cervical cancer may possibly become lower. Conclusion: Therefore it is necessary to work in tandem with the school health program to increase preventive behavior against cervical cancer for the women in their 20s through early education and promotion.
Background: Traffic injuries have become a significant public health problem in low- and middle-income countries. Several studies have examined the role of personality and attitude toward traffic safety in predicting driving behaviors in diverse types of drivers. Few studies have investigated risky behavior among public passenger van drivers. This study aims to identify the predictors of self-reported risky driving behavior among public van drivers. Method: A total of 410 public van drivers were interviewed at terminal stations in Bangkok. Hierarchical regression models were applied to determine the effects of demographics, personality traits, and attitude on self-reported risky driving behaviors. Results: The results indicated that drivers with a high education level, more working days, and high scores for normlessness and anger were more likely to report risky driving behaviors (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The personality traits and attitude toward speeding account for aberrant self-reported risky driving behavior in passenger van drivers. This could be another empirical basis for evidence-based road safety interventions in the context of public transport.
Purpose: This study was to investigate the attitudes of elementary school students on health curriculum. Methods: Based on the literary considerations and advanced research, a survey was conducted on Osgood's semantic differential scales on 329 fifth and sixth grade students in 6 elementary schools located in U metropolitan city regarding the attitudes towards health curriculum. Data were analyzed using t-test and multiple regression with the SPSS/WIN 18.0 program. Results: The overall attitude average grade was 3.46 in 26 factors, slightly exceeding the standard (3 points) which showed that students had a positive attitude towards health curriculums and thought health curriculums were valuable, necessary, and important classes. For each grade, the fifth grade believed health curriculums were more interesting, new, easy, necessary and valuable classes than compared to the sixth grade, and there were no differences between gender. The variables which affected attitudes in health curriculums included good feelings for health teacher, subject health status, and satisfaction in using the school health room. Conclusion: Because the better they think of health teacher, the higher the positive attitude towards health curriculums, a strategy which can build trust between student meetings not only during class time but also through operating a school health room will be necessary.
This study examined the effect of Health Education on the aged. One of the Study objectives was to improve knowledge. attitude and self-care practice about diabetes of the aged who have responded positive in the urine sugar test. The other study objective was to find out factors influencing knowledge. attitude and self-care practice about diabetes. and the relationship among the three variables. The subjects, consisting of 45 positive responders in the urine sugar test, were selected from the elderly who attend elderly citizen center in southern part of Seoul Then they were divided into an experimental and a control group. The study design was set to compare the pre and post test data between the experimental and the control group with the measures of results from Health Education services including nursing care intervention programs on the aged diabetics. The first data collection was carried out in August. 1986 through questionaires and urine sugar testing. The second data collection was done in September, 1987 through the same methods. The results of the study are summarized as follows; 1. General characteristics of the subjects The experimental group has 9 females and 14 males and the control group has 12 females and 10 males. As for the educational level, more than half of the subjects in both group had completed at least 6 years of education. And there was no significant difference in urine sugar levels between the two groups. 2. The effect of Health Education on the extent of change in knowledge, attitude and self-care practice about diabetes was found to be significant. The first hypothesis that knowledge, attitude and self-care practice about diabetes in the aged will be unchanged by Health Education. was rejected by increased the three variables and decreased urine suger level in the experimental group. The second hypothesis that knowledge, attitude and self-care practice about diabetes wouldn't be concerned with each other, was rejected. That is. the three variables and urine sugar levels showed a significant positive relationship with each other but diabetic knowledge to urine sugar level had an insignificant positive relationship. The third hypothesis that the amount of learning Health Education will have no relationships with knowledge. attitude and self-care practice about diabetes. was rejected. That is, the more number of times an elderly person participated in Health Education. they increased their diabetic knowledge. attitude and self-care practice and decreased their urine sugar level. 3. Except for Health Education, an other factor influencing diabetic knowledge was educational level. And an other factor influencing the diabetic attitude was experience of the diagnosis of diabetes. 4. Except for Health Education. the other factors influencing self-care practice were experience of the diagnasis of diabetes, sex and experience of the hospitalization for diabetes. But factors influencing urine sugar level weren't found. Although the results seem to be plausible, this study is not without its problems. In paticular, the sample used is limited in its scope and size. So, more empirical work needs to be done for other diseases as well as diabetes before any general conclusions are to be made.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of health education based on life skill training (LST) on middle school students' health knowledge, attitude, and behavior. Methods: For this study, 961 middle school students, residing in Seoul, Korea, were selected. The students received health education one day a week for 7 weeks from September 1, 2014 to October 25, 2014. Before and after the whole education program, the students filled out questionnaires surveying on their health knowledge, attitude, and behavior. Excluding inappropriate data, the data of 843 students was analyzed through Paired t-test. Results: After the education program based on LST, there were statistically significant increases in the scores for knowledge about drinking, body image distortion, good eating habits, right usage of smartphone, and prevention of smartphone addiction (p<.05). There were also statistically significant increases in the scores for attitude toward smoking, drug, good eating habits and prevention of smartphone addiction (p<.05). There were statistically significant increases in the scores for behavior regarding drug, good eating habits, right usage of smartphone and prevention of smartphone addiction (p<.05). Conclusion: Health education based on life skill training was especially effective in improving the subjects' scores for health knowledge, attitude, and health behavior. Therefore, various and systemic LST educational programs should be developed and implemented and their effects should be evaluated in further studies.
