  • As the demand for automation (or autonmation) or clean workplace has grown, the interest in the knowledge and skill regarding safety is rising in manager duty. Moreover, the importance of severity rate of injury has increased due to the enlargement of industry scale, even safety management area has developed. Thus, it is important that production managers, the core of the line process, realize the safety in their production line, even if a safety manager acts as a staff. However, in the duty oriented National Competency Standard (NCS), the education about the safety duty of production management part is insufficient. According to NCS, it is calculated production managers receive only 6.7% of whole safety education regarding the duty related the safety management for production manager in mechanical industry. However, the ability in safety is more demanded from production managers as the concept of "production and safety" turns into the concept of "production with safety". And then in this paper, we will compare and analyze the safety management duty in Korean NCS and the safety management duty in State Leaders Connecting Learning to Work in US manufacturing industry, in terms of the duty of the production manage in mechanical industry (05). And, we will develop the safety duty education system for production manager, by classifying the safety education in domestic mechanical industry into knowledge education, skill education, and attitude education with using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process).

  • This study has sought to analyze factors affecting work and work preference of older adults at national and individual level. A few theoretical hypotheses such as economic need versus job opportunity (or employability), attitude toward paid work, pull effect versus push effect were tested for citizens in eighteen OECD countries with International Social Survey dataset(2005) using multi-level analysis. Main findings are as follows. First, most older adults wanted to work regardless of the socio-economic status, which implies that non-work of older adults would be due to involuntary constraint rather than voluntary choice. Second, there existed class inequality in that the higher class tended to involve paid work more than the lower class did among 55-64 age group. Third, the push factor such as part-time employment ratio, rather than the generosity of social security, explained the work and retirement patterns better. In conclusion, at least from the comparative perspective, the main problem of older adults' work seems to be of labour demand rather than of labour supply, to be of labour market structure and work opportunity rather than of the pull factor.

  • Purpose - Competitive industry structure and recent economic depression challenge a survival of Korean small- and medium-sized food franchising companies (SMFCs), albeit the explosive growth of the Korean food service industry for last few decades. Against this backdrop, it examines how these SMFCs overcome liabilities of smallness and resource scarcity to strengthen competitive advantage in the market. To tackle this, in this article we focus on corporate entrepreneurship and human resources as a knowledge-based asset for these SMFCs. Furthermore, the ratio of employee turnover is high in SMFCs. We view that such brain-drain may result in poor performance of the Korean SMFCs. As such, we pay attention to the role of organizational commitment to an organization as a solution for enhancing individual-level employees' loyalty toward their organization. Research design, data, and methodology - Our research question is to what extent corporate entrepreneurship (i.e., innovative organizational culture, organizational autonomy, and administrative innovation) affects an individual-level attitude toward the organization and, in turn, employee creativity and satisfaction in the Korean SMFCs context. We collected data from employees in SMFCs for three months. A total of 126 valid questionnaires were collected, and analyzed the data using partial least squares path modeling. Results - The reliable and valid measurement model feed into testing the structural model. Our findings suggest that innovative organizational culture and organizational autonomy positively affect employee commitment. Particularly, organizational autonomy has a greater effect than innovative culture on employee commitment. However, the relationship between administrative innovation and employee commitment is not significant. We also find that employee commitment positively affects both employee creativity and satisfaction. Conclusions - Our contribution to the existing franchising business and management literature is twofold. First, the conceptual model includes three antecedents in the organizational entrepreneurship dimension to organizational commitment. Second, we conceptualize organizational commitment as employee commitment, and validate its impact on employee creativity and job satisfaction at an individual performance level. Overall, this article suggests that it is critically important for the Korean SMFCs to develop corporate entrepreneurship in order to facilitate employees' positive attitudes toward their organizations.

  • The objectives of this study was to analyze the importance and satisfaction (ISA) of forest healing instructor training program, targeting on the students educated in 2018. As a result, it was found that students older than forties are the majority as 81 %, and they preferred forest healing instructors as their second future job. When comparing the importance and satisfaction, the students evaluated satisfaction with low grade compared to importance with high grade in all questions. In ISA analysis, it was needed to improve the updated textbook information, to list the example problems by subject, to expose the test subjects in the textbooks, to disclose the test questions and answers, to control the test difficulty, to adjust the test pass rate, to expand the number of test and test sites, to increase the effort for making students understand, to prepare lectures appropriate to practice for forest healing instructor training program by priority.

  • The purpose of this paper is firstly to research the Capstone Design Learning Model which helps the students to acquire practical industrial skills and knowledge in real business fields, and secondly to analyze the qualitative effectiveness of this model in respect of knowledge, skill and attitude which NCS(National Competence Standards) suggest in industrial design field. In order to study, the second-year students taking the class 'Communication and Design Project(CDP)' of Industrial Design Major of DIT, took part in the Capstone Design Project and proceeded a project 'Character design of the entertainer Robert Holley' in cooperation with a relevant company and the professor in charge of this project. Through this research, it appeared that Capstone design related to visual design tasks improved the technical skills and competence of the students majoring in design. In other words, through analyzing questionnaire survey based on NCS, evaluation from relevant company, and awarding a prize of the design contest, we conclude that this instruction design and action plans have significant meanings to promote the students on-the-job competence.

This program was operated for a total of six weeks, and it took 100 minutes for two sessions per week with 23 high school female students. According to pre-post test comparative analysis, 5 out of 8 sub-factors of career maturity showed significant change. The 5 Factors are planning, self understanding, information search and career exploration and preparation actions. Above all the factor of knowledge on desired job especially showed a very considerable effect. But 3 factors such as attitude for occupation, independence and rational decision making did not show a significant result. • Background: Organizations are pursing complex and diverse aims to generate higher profits. Many workers experience high work intensity such as workload and work pressure in this organizational environment. Especially, psychological burden is a commonly used term in workplace of Republic of Korea. This study focused on defining the psychological burden from the perspective of occupational safety and health and tried to develop a scale for psychological burden. Methods: The 48 preliminary questionnaire items for psychological burden were prepared by a focus group interview with 16 workers through the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire II and Mindful Awareness Attention Scale. The preliminary items were surveyed with 572 workers, and exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and correlation analysis were conducted for a new scale. Results: As a result of the exploratory factor analysis, five factors were extracted: organizational activity, human error, safety and health workload, work attitude, and negative self-management. These factors had significant correlations and reliability, and the stability of the model for validity was confirmed using confirmatory factor analysis. Conclusion: The developed scale for psychological burden can measure workers' psychological burden in relation to safety and health. Despite some limitations, this study has applicability in the workplace, given the relatively small-sized questionnaire.
