This study investigated the sitting areas preferred to use by assisted living residents in the U.S., compared the perceptions of staff and residents, and analyzed the effects of residents' and spatial characteristics on the preference for use of main sitting areas such as lounge, dining area, activity room and outdoor area. A total of 102 participants(66 residents and 36 staff) from eight facilities in the seven counties of southern Texas were asked about two sitting areas residents like to spend time at. The results of the study were as follows: The most frequently mentioned sitting areas were the activity and outdoor area as per the residents, but the dining area and lounge as per the staff. It might be due to that the view of staff might have been limited to sitting areas usually used by the severely frail residents. Residents using higher level of mobility assistance such as wheelchairs and walkers, or living in the facility having more dispersed sitting areas were less likely to prefer to use the lounge. The residents who were younger or having good centralized outdoor area were more likely to prefer to use the outdoor area. The preference for use of dining area was affected by its proximity from the residents' individual rooms. Diverse survey methods need to be developed for a more in-depth collection and analysis of data from functionally frail older residents and staff caring for them.

The present asylums are reported to be hurting the privacy and self-reliance of the individuals by the uniformed manugerial regulations and fragmentary service. Due to the poor linkage of service and uneven quality between facilities, when a person falls into a serious disease he should bear the inconvenience of moving to other facility for the treatment. This study is to investigate the types and pater of welfare facilities for the aged where they can be provided with flexible service in the continuous living environments and to suggest the ideal environments for them to stand on their own feet by assisting properly both in physically and mentally keeping their privacy and sociality.

Korean society expects to be changing into aged society more rapidly than any other countries due to low birthrate and increase in life expectancy. Increasing number of elderly and social problems of aging society have provoked increase in research on elderly environment. Elderly housing facilities and living conditions are significantly related to the quality of life for older persons. The purpose of this study is to systematically analyze empirical studies on elderly physical environments in Korea, find out research streaming and understand social backgrounds and to suggest future research problems. For this study, contents analysis was conducted. Articles of four academic peer reviewed journals published from 1986 to 2005 were units of analysis. Using a keyword through library database systems, the articles were systematically selected. As results, trends of research according to 4 periods were defined. Among them as major trends, expansion of the quantity, expansion to interior design features for older persons, more facility types for dependent elderly(assisted living facilities, facilities for elderly with dementia, long term care facilities) have appeared. This result showed some directions and implications on elderly facility planning and development.

In this study, we try to understand the present condition of elderly housing facilities in Contra Costa County, California, USA. We got the basic information of 92 facilities through the interview with the chief of elderly housing department in Contra Costa County, California. In practical way of research, this study bears various components of the elderly housing facilities, which are type of facility, financial aids, type of apartment, and provided living services. The short summerising of researches are; The present conditions of elderly housing facilities can be classified as Independent Living(53), Congregate Housing(23), Assisted Living(33), Dementia Care(12). The financial aid conditions are shown like SSI, HA, HUD. The types of apartment are studio type, 1 bedroom type, 2 bedroom type. These facilities provides meals, housekeeping, transportation, small pets. As a result of studying the present condition of elderly housing facilities in Contra Costa County, we propose the basic statistical report on the most general type of housing, financial aids, type of services that people of the states want to get.

While Korean traditional culture considers it necessary that children support their parents, a new trend of silver support is expanding by the recent social change, the increase of women's working, and the reluctance to support the old people. However, the number of silver welfare facilities in Korea is short for the demand with limited selections of them. Based on the situation, the following results of the study what kind of policies Korea service for the old people in the USA where early stepped into the aging society: 1. provide specific and proper social-supporting service and facilities with charge or free for the old people to be able to select one of them, according to economic, physical and psychological situation of the old people; rather to prepare service and facilities for all the old people. 2. increasing community service support for the home-staying old people 3. the development of support program for the family of the old 4. the improvement of housing environment for the home-staying senior 5. prepare the housing alternatives for the senior would be home-like environment.

본 연구는 1980년 이후 사회복지조직의 효과성 연구를 다룬 논문 20편의 연구경향을 파악함으로써 사회복지조직의 조직현상에 대한 이해 도모, 조직관리에의 실천적 함의 제공 및 향후 사회복지조직의 조직효과성 연구에 대한 제언을 하고자 하였다. 분석결과, 대부분의 연구가 사회복지관과 생활시설을 대상으로 이루어졌으며, 조직효과성의 이론적 기반으로 내부과정접근모델이 가장 많이 적용되고 있어, 향후 사회복지조직의 성장과 외부의 요구에 부응하기 위해서는 다양한 조직과 지표 및 연구방법론의 활용이 필요한 것으로 파악되었다. 조직관리 측면에서 조직효과성에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 집단적 개발적 조직문화, 분권적 조직구조, 변혁적 리더십, 외부와의 개방적 관계 활용을 제안하였다.

본 연구는 텍스트 마이닝과 토픽모델링을 활용하여 우리나라에 사회서비스가 본격적으로 도입된 2007년부터 2020년 까지의 사회서비스 품질에 대한 학술연구 동향을 분석하였다. 이를 토대로 사회서비스 품질에 관한 논문의 패턴 및 전체 데이터 속에 의미를 파악하여 사회서비스 발전방향에 대한 기초자료를 제공하고자 함에 목적이 있다. 자료수집은 학술연구정보서비스(RISS)에서 사회서비스, 사회복지서비스, 품질 키워드로 97편의 논문을 선정하였고, 2개 구간으로 구분하여 텍스트 마이닝을 활용하여 데이터를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 첫째, 본 연구에서 활용된 97개의 논문 중 1구간은 38편, 2구간은 59편으로 나타났고, 연 평균 6.9개의 논문이 발표되었다. 둘째, 단어빈도 분석 결과 1구간과 2구간의 공통 키워드는 서비스, 품질, 사회서비스, 만족도, 이용자, 품질관리, 재이용, 정책, 바우처 등의 순으로 나타났다. TF-IDF 분석 결과 1구간과 2구간의 공통 키워드는 사회서비스, 만족도, 이용자, 고객만족, 재이용, 바우처, 품질, 노인요양시설, 품질관리, 지역사회서비스투자사업 등의 순으로 나타났다. 셋째, 토픽 모델링 분석 결과 1구간의 주요 토픽은 서비스 제공유형, 서비스 비용, 재이용, 이용자 중심, 일자리 창출로 나타났고, 2구간은 품질관리체계, 공공성, 제공인력 관리체계, 공급방식체계, 서비스 만족도로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 사회서비스 품질 학술연구의 방향성을 제시하였다.
